Best pub sized gig I’ve ever been to, The Annandale Sydney. Can’t have been long after this. So gloriously intense and harmonics were clashing and howling around the room in sublime carcopheny!
Opened up with my fave song too! There were so many cool bands like Archers of Loaf touring around at his time! They were small shows locally promoted by hip-knowers, so you had to look for flyers at your local record store. Some of them were so shittily put together that the space the band was supposed to play didn't work out and the band might play what turns into a house party; no sound check or sound man for that matter. But then of course the cops are called....
+wyatt powers No I signed your guest book, or rather my friend did as I was heavily sedated. I saw every AOL show they played in Oklahoma except for the All the Nation's Airport show. I saw both in 1994 (that is the Lemonheads show in Bricktown) and this one. I'm sorry if I forgot to tell you I was attending.
Thanks for posting this excellent footage. Great show front to back. Amazing to hear "Lowest Part is Free" still in a developmental stage. The performance of "Slow Worm" at the end is killer.
Love Matt's "Dance on your knees" name-check just before Plumb Line. A "late era" Hall and Oates reference. The album was Big Bam Boom, if you must know - hey we were all 12 years old once...
