youre right chester does have the "yelling" voice sometimes too! comparing it to his talking voice really shows

Basically you can use fry screaming over high pitched notes to make they sound like this, a "yell singing". Theory is pretty easy, but you need a lot of self-knoledge of your body to do this correctly. If you are a tenor or has a high voice registre, you'll sound like Carter's singing in this and "Gone With the Wind" If you are a baritone (or any other) you can use falsetto instead, but it'll result in a much dirtier/distorted yell (You can hear the difference in "Youth is Wasted on the Young" when he sings "I'll walk the funeral (...) peace" in the beggining

He is using mix of chest and head voice and fry distortion

Jorge Toro check out his band sylosis, the guy shreds, plays the leads and does the vocals...... I love architects but his guitar playing ability exceeds this band immensely, check them out dude 👌🏼

I’ve been on their shows for 3 times. He can keep up for a full concert. Actually what he does is not hard for his voice, but it requires long and thorough training and practice - average person will break on a second verse.

4 years late however, he does have a second vocalist now. It's their keys specialist and before Josh left the band he was giving back up vocals - looks like you were right
