This is so true. They really strike a perfect balance between complexity and melodity. Especially since lost forever // lost together.: I listen to them often on commute, yet can still lean back with a good pair of headphones and dig into the same songs.
This song is so awesome and the lyrics are so philosophical . I tattooed "The Past Is Dead" on my arm with a broken glass-hour. To remember this song ("like your favourite line from a forgotten song") and to make my peace about the past ! Architects are life !
The past is dead. I walk the funeral march and I will make my peace. The past is dead. I walk the funeral march and I will make my peace. If we stop the clock, will I reappear? Pulled from the drift, there goes another year. The stars align, the planets shift. All the infinite moments that we've missed. There's parts of me that are lost forever. At least we're all lost together. We all remember youth like it's dead and gone. Like our favorite line from a forgotten song. I'll show you my hurt and I'll show you my heart. A life lost in the dark. The past is dead. I walk the funeral march and I will make my peace. The past is dead. I walk the funeral march and I will make my peace. When I reach the end, will I beg for more? Will I look back, or step through the door? I stand beneath a monolith. Do you ever feel like you won't be missed? There's parts of me that are lost forever. At least we're all lost together. I heard that this was only a ride. So there's no worth in waiting for death to arrive. All we are, is just a name, it's all we are. Our skin, it shows, these crippled bones. Youth sinks alone. All we are, is just a name, it's who we are. Our skin, it shows, these crippled bones. Youth sinks alone. I'll show you my hurt and I'll show you my heart. A life lost in the dark. There's parts of me that are lost forever. At least we're all lost together. There's parts of me that are lost forever.
Architects are definitely my favourite band. Just wow, you can't imagine how many times I've listened to the whole Lost Forever // Lost Together album. Their songs and everything about them is just soooo good. I mean, have a listen at this one, specially at around 3:09. Woah. Chills!
Comment is still being noticed throughout a year, congrats me. Maybe I'll listen to this song for the first time in 10 months while I have the notification bringing it up.
The lyrics make so much sense. It's just perfect. The music goes through my all body. It's like I am flying in some emptiness. Love you architects. Thank you so much guys
For what I understand myself I think it means we all regret and see our youth like dead and gone. Then sam says we are so much suffering from the weight of our life and responsabilities that we don't live our life like we should, we let go too much moments. He wonders then if we will realize that in the end. I guess some people understand something else but that's the beauty of music. We all refer to our personnal experiences and life.
This song always will Reminds me my little brother. His Smile, His Strength and the LIGHT that breeds in this world until. His departure. In Loving Memory Axel!!!! BENE OMNIA ERIT!!!!
Every part of this song is so real, the lyrics, the tone, every note. I listen to this song/album everyfuckingday. Amazing job Architects \m/ another album perfectly structured, and I thank you for putting a strong message out there to the world.
// There's parts of me that are lost forever // At least we're all lost together // I heard that this was only a ride // So there's no worth in waiting for death to arrive // All we are, is just a name, it's all we are // Our skin, it shows, these crippled bones // Youth sinks alone // I'll show you my hurt and I'll show you my heart // A life lost in the dark.
let's all get along and love metal, some metal is good, some is bad to others, but it's all generated from the same style, so we can all learn to appreciate each others music for what it came from, and respect other styles, even if we enjoy it or not, this band is great imo, and i find other bands such as cannibal corpse, the browning, born of osiris, attila, ect... to be also great and i enjoy all forms of metal :D
Respect to that! You seem to be a good person! Today we see too much violence everywhere. It's sad! We metalheads should just be united because, like you say, it's all generated from the same style.
+pvt hart my favourites in metal (though i listen to a LOT of other genres as well) are Wintersun, Persefone, Architects, Eluveitie, Blind Guardian, Ayreon, Insomnium. Pretty different styles. Diversity is great
Gotta be honest, when Daybreaker came out i wasn't really that excited, but this album really gave me a huge boner, i've seen them twice, and from what i saw it's like, Sam has more energy, geting better, and the band sounds even better, these guys have something different from all the other bands in this scene/genre whatever, these guys have become one of my favorite bands for sure!
I think this was the only track with guest vocals. 2:25 is Sam and Murray from The Excerpt. For some reason I was expecting Oli Skyes to be on the CD but whatever, it is AMAZING just the way it is. I don't have a favourite track off the album, I really did enjoyed Gravedigger, Broken Cross, Dead Man Talking, and Youth is Wasted. I never got to read the lyrics, too busy tapping my fingers and nodding along. Bottom Line: Really solid album, Sam's singing was different but enjoyable, drums were tight (as usual), I don't they used a different tuning for guitar and bass but it sounds "deeper?", its got that BOOM. I CAN'T WAIT to get the CD for my truck and let the world hear it. Hell, I might even get 2 CD's lol. THANK YOU FOR THE ALBUM.
Taryn Davis Yeah its G#F#BEG#C# tuning :) They've used it in the past, pretty much since Hollow Crown, but on this album they used it on 8/11 songs, 2 in the usual C# standard and Gravedigger in F#F#BEG#C# aha so low :O
Best fucking song from that new album ... Or should I say best fucking song from Architects. Those cleans, and this heaviest breakdown ever, full of emotions ... I listen to this album since it dropped. Can't listen anything else more than 1 hour.
Alex Clare all of their albums are flawless... but they've kept true with each album drop. Being their new release, this album doesn't disappoint for a single second.
Netherstorms That's even better, both for you and the band, because from what I've heard they get more cash themselves when you buy the records from their merchs booths and such. Thus you support them even more doing so.
DarkLT4Ewa Im glad. Did you see this post about top band's royalty cheques? Bands don't get as much as people think! www.metalhammer.co.uk/news/trivium-darkest-hour-members-post-depressing-royalty-cheques-realit/
Can someone explain to me why does the line go "there is parts of me that are lost forever" and not "there ARE parts of me..." ? isn't it grammatically incorrect ?
I really like this song. But I can't help but feel the guest vocals are a little out of place. Especially next to Carters. Kinda like putting a house cat next to a lion :-|
havoren There are definitely guest vocals on this track. They're done buy a guy called Murray Macleod. They feature at 1:08 and more prominently at 2:24. I don't think they or the guy is bad they just seem really under powered and kinda lost in the mix. Especially when Sam comes in after him.
There are no Architects after Tom's death. This song is one of the few raw beams of light of the soul truth. This song is somewhat naive and adult at the same time. Death of the poet is shining for those who left and have the power not to stick to modern semi-Architects turned in the pile of shit while trying to make money of Tom's soul string. You're nothing guys for now. That was unique magnum opus. Amen!
Band is a sum of it's members, just because Tom died, doesn't mean they should just hang up the coat and abandon ship. Hell, Tom wouldn't want that, he'd want them to move the fuck on. In Josh, they found a worthy replacement, and with Holy Hell, a great send-off for Tom, and one of the band's highlight albums for sure. Good bait doe
For the sake of truth they must not parasite at the death of the member of the band. It's hybrid sufferings. The death that transforms into the money-making and song-faking. If they would leave they will last forever. Otherwise it's just a shadow of themselves that is trying to pretend the real Ones. It's the art for degradants that are clicking on the "All that remains new song". Go ahead and listen to the shit from Emmure or Trivium! Or shitty low-rate pop singer Oliver Sykes from previously growing Bring me the horizon...
Exploitation of previous symbols and images. You can feel how the blood is circulating in your veins ehile listening to "youth is wasted". No "holy hell" if youth already was "wasted on the young".
