I never thought of using a tripod. In the old film days we hand held a lot. I do like the KISS. So true.

I have the Sony A7RV, which are best G Master lens suited to architecture photography? I only have the 16-35mm GM and 24-70mm GM and 24mm GM prime, anything else you recommend? What do you think of the 12-24 GM?

If you own or part own a property like a flat in a tower block eg and it’s considered to be iconic enough to be frequently used in music videos and fashion shoots etc can the owner copyright his own property and ask for image rights if used? Thanks

My challenge is living in Las Vegas. Yes the casinos are spectacular especially with all that neon lighting surrounding it. But of course with it is security waiting to pounce on you when you whip out your camera. There are only a select few places on the strip that let you take pictures to your heart’s content.

Hello Adorama, I do sincerely thank you for all your valuable tips and I wish you all the best. I am an amateur photographer and I want to turn pro. I'm basically interested in still imagery, namely Architecture and Decoration. I'm using T5i but I want to upgrade to pro level and I'm considering moving to Sony Mirrorless full frame. Is moving to Sony Mirrorless a good decision? Or investing in 5D MIII and EF lenses, or moving to Nikon D800 something? What would you recommend? Thanks again for all your tips and for your advice in advance. Regards.

@ 6:13 the photo might have benefitted from a bit of vertical straightening but otherwise it's a nice shot and a helpful video! I think that new security concerns are hampering a lot of us that like to shoot buildings. Here in the US I believe that as long as you are standing on a public street and what you are photographing is not behind a wall and is generally visible from public space, you are within your rights to shoot it. If anyone knows differently, let us know?

Hi Doug, very informative video. I would like to ask you a question. Where do I focus while doing architectural photography?
@megansalt
@megansalt 3 года назад
I don´t think he’s going to answer, so I will. I guess you're going for the traditional style that he's teaching? If so, then your focus you should be at infinity.

OK, I'm confused. Why would you want to use a neutral density filter for architectural photography?
@HwL01

ND to allow longer exposure, migjt be able to make some moving humans "disappear" i guess. Graduated ND in case there is very big drop off in light. (Just my opinion :))

Thanks for the great video! One more hint. With mirrorless cameras like Sony A6000 one can turn almost any full frame DSLR lens into tilt-shift lens. I use old nikon lenses with manual aperture on my A6000 camera to shoot architecture. Here is Kipon tilt-shift adapter for Sony camera to nikon lenses www.adorama.com/KATSNKGNEX.html

If I were shooting tall building, I wouldn't be using a 35mm camera. I would be using my 4x5 view camera, it's much easier to correct the tilt shift in the buildings. You must not own your equipment with all the missing rear lens caps..!!
@joelpeters4959
@joelpeters4959 5 лет назад
Chord progression in the music is exactly the same as Lil Wayne's Mirror. So are we looking in the mirror as we watch, or is he saying that the lens is actually just a mirror? A mirror of the soul?! His pictures mirror his soul. hmmmm
