Thanks for this!! It might sound ridiculous but I had no idea how this was achieved!

I'm using pvc mounding trim on stucco. I use a screw into the framing and have some Sikaflex Insulation Sealant & Adhesive to help bond the back side since not a lot of adhesives work on pvc. Going to use latex paint on the trim.

Do you need to fill any gaps where the mortar is between the bricks so no water seeps behind?
