I was at a street corner and this thing comes by. No problem just a little bit of dust coming off of it. Then all of a sudden there was a huge cloud of smoke coming towards me. This cloud covered the whole intersection.
The issue is that its a growing industry, these trucks brand new can cost 250-500k. Most City's dont want to cough up the cash and the contracting company's are slowly expanding.
This is filmed in Manchester. Mayne (now owned by Stagecoach) bus at 2:30 and old GMPTE (now TFGM) bus stop at what looks like Etihad tram stop at 2:58.
Dear Mr Waite, We will be happy to send you some further information regarding our truck mounted sweeper. If you send your details to enquiries@johnstonsweepers.com we shall then have your contact details in order to answer you directly. Many thanks.
@labrie expert 2000 No they're not! I got a demo from Johnston just a few weeks back. OK the machine was tidy, done what it said on the tin but it's fuel consumption is far higher and its payload capacity is severely reduced because of that stupid second engine and it chocked up way too easy.
The VT650 is a good machine, although we do prefer the 600 as we find them more reliable. Less to go wrong on them. Most importantly is the chassis that it's fitted to....
VT651 is the new and upgrade model of VT650. Details of VT651 can be found here: www.johnstonsweepers.co.uk/product-range/selected-product.php?qsSelectedProdId=33
wish someone told people how to run a street sweeper in are area .thews brushes get hot without water are town hardly uses them and the ends milt and then there useless. they do it all the time in my town. go threw brushes so fast. believe they bought thews as well noticed the same name so. talk about seeing dust storms on dry roads. dont you make sure they know how to use them when they get one.
+earendil calmia any dust is a no no! the water nozzles are likely blocked or low water poressure...dust sand blasts the entire machine, destroys ductwork and the expensive impeller...too bad they dont fully train people when using a 200,000 dollar plus machine...
The body rots and rusts within a year......poor paint job. No seal on the gulley sucker so it sucks air in from the joints When gulley sucking on numerous gulleys, you have to dismantle the whole lot and store away, simple because their is no holster to rest the active GS. Donkey fuel tank rots and leaks, and is a manufacturers fault which they havent addressed in years Just some of the things wrong with this machine......I know because i drive one everyday.
Can second all these faults. I work for a Manchester based roadsweeper firm that only uses Johnston roadsweepers. Can also add the slide up door for the hydraulic and water control box on the side failing after a few years as well.
Nope. The cat thought it was okay to walk/run by moving vehicles, the same thing would have happened to it with any other vehicle. Teach your cat properly next time.
Paul I just started selling the Scarab in The southeast US. I sold Johnston for 18 years and I am very excited about the Scarab. Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting the CCO of the Fayat group from the Netherlands.
