Just came here to give this a massive thumbs up. My only complaint is that there weren't more episodes. And if you've ever done any climbing at all, you'll just gape at what Alex and Hazel achieve in the last episode, breathtaking.

It’s wild to watch this & think I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t get first ascent. While also caring only a minuscule amount for the destination in comparison to the journey that we’re about to be taken on. Let’s go Honnold!-looking forward to as many more as we get but also totally get it if you reach a point where the calculation doesn’t land in favor of such things be it after this one or decades from now

I've been following his podcast for a while, and most of it was ice climbing related, however he'd always mention how he thinks it's absolutely crazy and way out of his comfort zone, and the little trips he had were enough for him. So it's really interesting that after all of that, he still decided to do it again. 😂

It's been two decades since anyone went there, and as they said in the video, the reason is because it is a dangerous place. I mean, that means that if it were an acceptable place to move, many climbers would be climbing more frequently, and in that sense they would be manipulating and destroying that rock and its very walls little by little."

I am happy to see Alex shifting away from Free Soloing. Every one should be free to choose their own path, but free climbing is no less a skill than free soloing. Just to outsiders I guess it carries more romanticism.

he hasn't stopped soloing, where did you get that idea? And yeah he would solo a big wall if he wanted to, the size of the wall does not dictate the difficulty of the climb. Some of the tallest big wall climbs are 5.9 and below. @@benl8962

There is Nothing More that Alex needs to do to keep the respect he has earned from me. Needless to say, dying from pushing the envelope earns no additional respect...it just ends his ability to contribute to the world in other related ways. Alex...you can stop rolling the dice.
