Nice sled, brings back memories. My cousin had a thundercat 1000 that scream upwards of 130 mph. He also had 25k of parts under the hood. Don’t think we ever got a top end speed, it would runout of travel distance.
An 04 F7 was my last sled since I now live in N.C., but my best friend back home is still crushing hopes and dreams with his 01 SRX . 1000 ft radar runs he consistently hits 127 but when he set up for 660 he puts donky gaps on 300 hp Thundercats. Believe me I am a ZRT fan forever.
Well if it’s beating Tcats then it’s not 700 ccs, because I owned them all, and raced them including an 01 SRX and my 98 Tcat would pull by the SRX after about 300’ and by the end of it I would have 700’ distance between it, putting my 130 lb nephew on the SRX and me 210lb on the TCat, all of them were stock except clutching and gearing them, every weekend I would hear the same shit before they lined up, first they would say I didn’t get good traction, then I missed the light, then by the third time they usually would walk away shaking their head talking to themselves, and again, I owned them all, 99 Mach Z, 03 F7, and 2004 XCR 800, the sled that actually gave me the most trouble was the F7, again with my 130 lb nephew on it, it would take me almost every time for about 500’, but I would have 500’ distance at the end of it. The only stock sleds I lost to were other 98 Tcats, the newer Tcats with the 3 in 1 out exhaust couldn’t compete with the 98, and nothing else could until the 4 strokes came, then I was done, because I wasn’t going to spend $20 k on a sled to make it go over 130 mph. And if there is an SRX out there doing 130, he’s got well over $20 k in it, because the norm was $1000 for every mph from stock, so you do the math, a stock SRX would go at best 110
@@chrisbrann7733hooper is a good engine builder. For drag racing. So Is Doug flannery he does a good job I never had bad things go wrong With my zrt 1200 cc
8:06 good lane choice. That’s so important to do. I drag raced my dad’s 440Z back in 1976 to 81. We would have to race at least 80 times. Because we would race in stock B. A. Super Stock B and A. Then in modified. It was according to how many sleds were in each class. Then I raced his buddies 340Z. And my 634 Puma. We would do that every weekend. As I got older I wanted to party to much. It was the 70s ya know lol
