Arctic Monkeys let Absolute Radio's Pete Donaldson into their dressing room for a chat about haircuts, the new album, and the first records they remember buying.
Never understood the people that got freaked by the wardrobe changes, it's been happening album to album. As for Alex's voice, spend a lot of time anywhere that isn't home, you naturally pick up the way people there speak, but doesn't mean you've obtained a full blown american accent, it's still english/sheff with some odd inflections here and there and any real american would still have trouble understanding him lol.
because while he is really funny, watch any full interview with him- his humour is very.. risky and he does make fun of the interviewers a lot. I guess when they got even more famous with AM the label didn’t want Jamie turning people away with his very up front personality
These guys are truly pleasant and naive. I would like to push you all to love and rate them because they deserve to reach more audience and to improve their career. Their outset also proved to be right and well-done. I don't want anyone to blame such a talented band.
People should like really stop hating on them. Whether they have changed or not they are still the most amazing band that the universe has. yes, I do think that Alex should chill out on the hair gel, but it does him good!
Just dropping in to say that Alex does not 'sound American'. I'm Mexican-American so I'm no expert on either English, 'American' nor, well, English English but he does not sound like anyone I know from here. From my perspective he still has a pretty thick accent, an accent I always enjoyed.
@TigerLilyTime I don't know, you know. Maybe something about his accent or that they basically both just speak english. Yeah, it must be that, that they both speak english. Beatles*
Does anyone realize the the last time the Monkeys were really themselves is their first album. Ever since they started dressing up...first as funny animals then clowns...they have been doing so. The biker boy look's a disguise too.
