Despite all the hate this album is getting I really think it is their most "mature" one. People cannot expect from artists to compose the same music at a certain age as they would in their teens. I am not a music expert but all the songs seem pretty complex to me and I feel this album is really coming out of their hearts. It's been almost 10 years that I listen to the Arctic Monkeys and I love how they never cease to surprise me!

David Bowie would give this a standing ovation. What a track from a super band. This album is up there with AM. Unreal

I’d never of thought this would of been my favourite AM album when I first heard it. Now I can’t even listen to their old stuff. This album is a masterpiece. A true reflection of an artist that evolves with every record he puts out

I’ll be the first to admit I was stubborn when I first heard this album but it’s such a work of art, so metaphorical, even from the first line ‘Jesus in the day spa, filling out the information form’ saying how these modern ‘Instagram’ influencers think they are as influential as figure such as Jesus but on their day to day just criticise and review certain places for the masses. Follows up with ‘mama got her hair done, just popping out to sing a protest song’ a prime example of this is the girl who got dressed up to get a photo for social media in the black lives matter protest. This album is about our society and how fucked up it is, such depth to these lyrics, as catchy and amazing their previous albums have been this one is next level

This album is fantastic.

All the hate this album is getting seems really absurd. It's almost as if people are blind to how the band has always made huge changes to their sound with every new album, as compared to the predecessor.

This sound means that they have matured.

I work at this quiet bar downtown with the dim lighting that people come at the end of their long day to enjoy a drink and relax. Last night, just before we closed for the night, most of the clients had left and I felt in the mood to listen to the new Arctic Monkeys album because its that kind of music. It fitted the mood perfectly. We had like 10 people left in the bar at that exact time and they were lightly swaying to the music, enjoying their drinks. One of the clients came up to me and asked me: "I have never heard of these songs before. Is this the Arctic Monkeys? Because it sounds like them," and I said "Yeah, it's their new album. It was released like 5 days ago," to which he replied: "I see. It's a bit jazzy and slower than usual but I like it. It makes me feel good." And that's my answer to all the people saying that this new album is so different from the last ones and you don't like it. It still sounds like them. People recognise them. It's different but it's still beautiful. Very sensual, very slow. I would love to listen to it at the end of every day while having a good drink in my hand.

This is so addictive!!. I think the 170K views all came from me. This song really gave some sort of Spaghetti western Stanley Kubrick space film. It is like they are riding horse exploring on an unknown planet.

Fantastic album all round. I understand that people who were looking for the old punkish AM sound full of distortion and energy didn't get what they wanted, but if you're a David Bowie fan this is right up your alley. It's very reminiscent of early Bowie albums, you can hear some resemblance in the vocals, but also the style.
