I haven't read the books but my dad has theme in storage I've watched the movies but would love to read the books. PS I believe Tolkien would live this and love you guys for being such great fans.
Dunno about Tolkien, I cannot talk about such a wonderful mind and guess his opinions. But his late son would hate this 🤣 he hated everything anyone done with middle earth
@@StreetCars1698 Here, just for you: Man I got a feeling that Tolkien himself is looking east over the sea with pride in his eyes seeing his great work honored in such a way.
I clicked on this video thinking it was going to be something small a couple of fans made over a weekend. I ended up watching the whole video in complete awe and wonder. Never would have guessed the scale, craftsmanship and detail of this project
I've been wishing for 40 years to be able to walk through middle earth. Just watching the livestream video, nearly brought me to tears. Unbelievable talents on display. Amazing. Well done. Xxx
If you have a computer it’s definitely worth getting minecraft and joining the server to have a look around. I check in on this project every couple of years and it’s truely amazing.
This sort of organising, planning and teamwork organisation is honestly something you can put forth in your resume, not even kdding! The fact this is in a videogame has nothing to do with the professionalism on display.
This guy are pretty much the Valar of minecraft, insane work not only on the build but on the details as well and make everything coherent, I hope this guy will get money for this they really deserve it
I'm no longer playing Minecraft but I would totally install it to check this map. And would not be surprised if other devs went to check this up to develop their LOTR game maps in the future, as inspirational and localizational tools
I grew up and lived near Lauterbrunnen, or Luterbrunne, as we call it in our dialect. It's absolutely stunning in real life, especially on a sunny day in spring, when the snow melt combines the hundreds of trickling rivulets into thundering waterfalls that barrel down the near vertical, up to 1000m high cliffs into the valley and the Lütschinen river down below. "Lauterbrunnen" actually means "many springs", and it's not called the Valley of 72 Waterfalls for nothing. I've always been so proud that Tolkien took so much inspiration from our quiet little slice of paradise, but seeing THIS version of Rivendell gave me an almost visceral reaction. It touched something in me that I hardly describe, but it felt incredibly familiar and comforting, like some of the best parts of my childhood came together to remind me of those bygone, simpler days.
I was super impressed already with everything these awesome humans are doing, but once I saw Argonath... I couldn't believe it, the rendition is really damn DAMN good, and I would have thought it near impossible to make them in Minecraft! Really beautiful, thoroughly impressed! Thank you!
I walked into this with what I thought were lofty expectations. Those expectations were shattered in minutes. Then the video kept going. These people are insane and it's fantastic to see.
All good for the shards of Narsil not present in Rivendell because of them being reforged in Anduril, but there should definitely be the shards of Aeglos, Gil-Galad's spear
I believe Aeglos' fate is unknown after Gil-galad's death. However, if the shards of Narsil were reverently taken from the battlefield, I'm sure Aeglos would have been too. It may still be whole (and among the spears on display at Rivendell, there's a nice one above the doorway), or perhaps buried with Gil-galad.
The appreciation and detail to Tolkien's drawings of incredible! As one who read the books after I watched the movies, this brings my imagination to life! I LOVE the artistic vision here!
"And so they named their case fan Ainulindalë..." 😜 Wonderful, wonderful work. I love seeing this much passion and attention to detail from fans and artists. And this IS absolutely legitimate interactive digital art.
I remember seeing parts of their map years back and it’s so crazy to see how much they’ve progressed! And also how much in the real world has changed since then.
Seriously what a beautiful project. These folks have done some amazing work. Thorin's throne room is especially breathtaking. Love the approach to Thorin's halls in general, what with thinking about the water supply, where dwarven residences would be, etc.
Very impressive, particularly the halls of Thorin thats just unbelievable! I've also watched the Minecraft Middle Earth videos, both are great but I particularly like their version of Lorien but believe many of your other locations top theirs.
As cool as it is for us to get two separate interpretations of Arda in Minecraft, with a project of this astronomical scale it’s kind of a shame to see MCME and ArdaCraft working on their own. Joining forces would probably be a logistical impossibility but it’s still kinda sad.
This is by far one of my favorite places to jump into and wander around. Been following this build for a few years now and regularly drag friends in with me to go and try to find places
They´ve done more in a few years then the valar in the ainulindale and the 10s of thousands of years before the arival of the elves combined. Respect, the builders are gods greater then the valar.
Given how much work they've done on this, I suspect asking them to do a whole other map including Beleriand would be a bit much. However, it would be interesting to be able to travel the Straight Road to Valinor.
This is awe inspiring. I am stunned looking at a world that was once only in the mind of its creator being assembled like this. You gentlemen are doing an amazing job.
Well done to the guys at ArdaCraft. The time and effort you have put in to creating this world is insane. I'm sure Tolkien would have a smile from ear to ear if he could see it.
Only 30 minutes into the video and I just have to comment. First, those mountains and ravine behind Helm's Deep are amazing. Second, I keep thinking "wow! This looks just like I imagined it in the book." It's great because it's bringing my imagination to life.
The picture of Eärendils voyage and the books and pages scattered in the first bedroom must be a nod to Bilbos poem about Elronds father. Very nice touch!
That one *is* Bilbo's room! The server is set on Septemeber 22nd, 3006 TA, meaning Bilbo is in residence in Rivendell. A very good keen eye. And (shameless boast) a testament to our adherence to the lore.
O my god! This is the coolest thing ever I love it. This by far and away is the coolest thing I've ever seen built in Minecraft. The amount of work and detail that went in to this is amazing. If they gave out awards for Minecraft builds you would definitely win hands down. Amazon's going to be calling you to help lay out their middle earth lol. I honestly can't say enough about how impressive this is. I can't wait to see it finished.
This and WesterosCraft both blow my mind. I don't play Minecraft, so the one thing that takes away from the enjoyment of exploring these creations for me, is the draw distance of the game itself.
LOTR serves as a consistent source of inspiration for me in my own Minecraft world - though, my world is not nearly as neat as Ardacraft! Thanks for uploading, I loved the tour :)
@@marcusisgood9 It got me wandering, like in Gondorians Havens they surely have border guards and stuff, do they have the same for Aman??? Like I don't think there is a reason to but they might as well have some?
This just looks amazing. It shows the beauty of Tolkiens imagination. Another game or rather mod that shows another aspect of middle earth is Third age divide and conquer for total war medieval 2. It focuses more on the battles of the third age than the beauty of the world. However I can highly recommend it and the discord server is really nice. Back to the topic of the stream, I especially like the emphasis on Tolkiens concept instead of trying to copy the film.
@@apophis259 it's probably like a medieval mod that adds tons of new blocks and such to build with that you normally wouldn't have access too, or it could also be a texture pack that just re-textures what the blocks look like
There. Are. No. Words. I have tried Minecraft, and really, I’m just not a game person in general, but I have fallen in love with this effort. Can’t wait for your next stream with them; maybe I’ll be able to tune in next time!
Couldn't other mine craft player's destroy this iv heard a lot of people saying that there creations were destroyed by other players/trolls it looks really great very well done I've never played or seen anything done mine craft wise always thought it was for kids obviously I was wrong really enjoyed the art work and video very impressive
