The PS/2 type keyboard is a classic, and fairly common. You can easily wire one up to use as an input device with your Arduino. All you need is a library and a few wires. 👉 Leave a tip via cryptocurrency if I've helped you out:

On video you only test on serial monitor, I need to use that output to control a LED, Ex: output data "Q", LED 1 HIGH. I'm new.

If you can get the serial communications to work as described, converting the code to turn on/off a pin (LED) based on an input, is a trivial task. Check out the arduino website and look at if/then or state changes.

@@MarcdeVinck If you don't mind could you write a simple code, EX: arduino read a "Q" so LED1 == HIGH. I could did a research but gonna take time, But if you could do that, It gonna save a lot of time and I will be really appreciate it

@@cliffordjohnathan6140 I really can’t share code via RU-vid comments. But good luck on your journey. You might want to reach out to someone local for help learning code and hardware. Hackerspaces, etc. You can also use up work, freelancer, or Fiverr.

Can this be done using a Arduino nano? I want to see if I can fit it I to the inside of the keyboard case, I have other keyboards but I like the ps/2 one. Also is there support for media keys in that code sample, and if not, can I add it.

Sure! You only need a few pins. You can learn more about how it works here -- playground.arduino.cc/Main/PS2Keyboard

could i send the information from arduino to a pc using a esp8266 to work as a wire less keyboard ?

Yes, you could. I found a few projects via Google that could work.

What if I want to use a ps2 keyboard as a wireless bluetooth keyboard to use it on my pc using an Arduino . What do I have to do?
@MarcdeVinck
@MarcdeVinck 3 года назад
The easiest way, maybe not the best way, would be to use an inexpensive Arduino to read the incoming keypresses from the ps/2, then use an inexpensive wireless sender/receiver (~$3) to another HID compatible Arduino that reads the incoming serial data, converts it to a keystroke , and is connect via USB.

Will usb keyboard work aswell?

Not in this specific example, but there are variants of the Arduino, 32u4 based, that can act as a HID device (Keyboard or mouse). Reference -- www.arduino.cc/en/Reference/HID
