Meets first time "I'm afraid you're out of luck" Meets before final duel in throne room "I'm afraid you're out of luck" Could've have chosen anything better for him to say
19:07 I don't understand why they had Noctis keep squirming over this. Ardyn told us the most important thing in the entire game, but Noctis's voice is just equally loud, making Ardyn's speech hardly audible.
It annoyed me as well. I was lucky at the time that I had subs on, otherwise I wouldn't have heard it either. When I ripped it, and played it back, (without OST too and all) it was only then I noticed Noctis so overwhelmingly annoying... Really wish they silenced him.
@@Chocoboy_James Yeah, I actually noticed this too in the Final Fantasy VII Remake. Like, you could be walking around the slums with a person who actually gives you important info, but random NPCs keep talking over it. I'm not sure if it's because the original isn't in English, or if it's something else entirely... but you'd think the game would be tested enough for the developers to notice and change the volume a bit.
@@diromiz Oh goodness, it happens in a lot of games, in game dialogue being either overwhelmed by surroundings, or suddenly cut out. It's weird it's indeed not tested upon... Makes you wonder xD!
For some reason, in my most recent playthrough (in April), I wasn't able to get past Ardyn to harass him in the car. Was a new game+ and the regalia was fully kitted out... but I could never get closer than 100 yards. C'MON GAME I WANNA TROLL THE TROLL KING. /sigh
He is one of my favorite characters to try and replicate his voice. Such an oily, yet kingly presence. Ardyn is my favorite villain in FF, because he is a tragic character.
Gotta love the parallels that Ardyn forces Noctis into. He; A. Separates him from his friends/loved ones. B. Forces him to endure several waves of enemies by himself. C. Causes him to question not only his sanity, but also his morals. D. Tells him every excuse that hundreds, possibly thousands must have asked him. (I.E. 'your friends have such bright lives ahead of them, don't take it personally if they decide to choose theirs over yours.') E. Tries to get Noctis to distrust Prompto. F. Forces Noctis to fight Ravus.
19:02 So Epic but can barely hear over Noct's grunting and noises... Unharmed by the Light. The Chosen King indeed. Allow me to regale you with a tale. In an age long past, an incurable scourge ravaged mankind. A tiny menace that twisted men into monsters, the likes which you've seen. In Lucis lived a savior that could cure the afflicted. His body would come to host myriad daemons. That countless lives be spared. But a jealous king, one not yet chosen by the Crystal, ostracized and demonized this healer of the people. Making a true monster of him. I gave you my name earlier, but you should know that it was not the name given to me at birth. Ardyn Lucis Caelum is my proper name. You'll never guess whose name Izunia was. Noct, killing you as a mortal will bring me scant satisfaction. Claim the Crystals power. Arise as its champion. Only once the Crystal and King are no more... can I know redemption. Come back soon. I shall keep your friends company until you are ready. - Ardyn Izunia
