Scanty I’m Northerner and I’m Married to a Voltarian, I swear I’ve never regretted a single day, let’s focus on uniting than creating division which the colonizers brought as part of divide and rule
I'm your brother from Nigeria. This is very interesting and just like the tribalism that goes on in Nigeria. As a Pan African, I wish we could recognise that we are Africans first. One love my people.
@@fynndjabaah3679you’re so dumb, how can one tribe ruin Ghana? If not for Asantehene do you think Ghana would be where it’s at today. Go and listen to your previous presidents on his involvement. Kwasia kurasini.
@@fynndjabaah3679how?👀 Explain how it’s the Ashantis and not the entire country, that are contributing to the problems in Ghana. Many companies in Accra are built by Ashantis, but the issue of tribalism affects every tribe in Ghana, not just the Ashantis. This tribalism thing needs to stop because it doesn’t make sense and is harmful to the country as a whole.
Scanty, Ashantis are not quick to play victims of tribalism. Part of the reasons the others are seen as non-tribal. For a long time now, we have been able to accommodate the tribalistic nature of others, without making noise about them.
Nkosoɔhene has said it all. Asante dnt go mad when u tease them oo rather we make business from that tease but go tease som tribe hmmm blood go flooooow, anger go bi small self
Ashantis have been persecuted for more than 400 years, from before 1700 to the present. Even our own Akan brothers joined forces with the whites to wage war against us. You want to put our heritage under an existential threat, and this won't happen.
That's a lie please. Ashantis are actually tribalistic. They speak and act like they are the best humans. Always talking down on others especially Ewes.
Yes I always say I learn tribalism here in Accra. Before coming to Accra I didn’t know any tribe call Ewe, GA…. etc. It take me years before I get addicted. Only Accra they do tribalism
Herrr ma guy you taken my words from my mouth. In Kumasi and other Asante towns you will never hear of tribalism oo. It was when i came to Accra that whoever you meet is interested in the tribe you are from. I have always been saying this!!
Every Tribe is here in Accra what do you expect, Accra is not your village it’s a city every tribe in Ghana is in Accra , this is common knowledge , so it’s common for some one to ask you where you are from
I don't understand at all... People always saying Ashantis do this do that but that one is normal. If an Ashanti portray him/herself in a way he want people to take him for, that one too is a problem. Why can't people leave us alone. We have towns in Ashanti region that belongs to people from other tribes like the Zongos, Fante New Town, Anloga, even Adum but but people always accuse us because the feel for themselves inferior. No one build for you a superior mindset. It is up to you to let people regard you as mighty as you want. LEAVE US ALONE.
First you need to ask yourself why so many tribes have issues with your tribe…it’s called self reflection…has there been a time where your tribesmen disrespected other tribes in a way where it wasn’t warranted? Have you yourself ever disrespected a tribe unprovoked? Because if all these other tribes have something to say about your tribe, then you can’t play the victim card by acting oblivious as though you never contributed in any tribal disputes… The notion of other tribes feeling inferior is soo tired and needs to be retired…let’s come up with another vocabulary… Lastly, having all these tribal communities in your region, doesn’t take away whether or not you’re tribalistic…accra has all tribes living there and quite a number of zongo communities too…but we don’t see GAs bragging on that…same for other tribes… Once again, self-reflection and accountability will help us all move forward…if one refuses to change from their tribal ways, then that’s on them 🤷🏾♀️
Did you say inferior? You people keep building a smoke that will engulf you one day. Do you know the number of people who have experienced tribalism from Ashantis? Many! I am one. Throughout my life, I've always had friends from almost all tribes in Ghana and even beyond boarders. Never have I experienced tribalism from any of them except Ashanti. I was sitting my somewhere in the bus minding my business, that morning I was having a cool chat with my old lady on the phone. All I heard next to me was "Gyae sa kasa nu, 3y3 tae. Ka twi!" Herr! I thought to myself, "This guy must really have a death wish" I wasn't funny! How dare you disrespect my culture, my IDENTITY! I promise you, that day if I hadn't controlled myself I would've given him a hot slap that will probably cause the driver to make an emergency U-turn to the dentist, he would've lost few teeth or more. But I thank God that the devil didn't get that part of me that day, this is a testimony. Praise God! Meanwhile I made sure I spoilt his morning with words that can cause him nightmares. Yes o! I told him that it's because of this acts of oppressing others and sense of superiority in his ancestors that made them to sell off their fellow human beings as slaves to the white man because they saw their fellow Africans as non Akans. They've passed it on to their generation who are displaying same hatred but due to civilization, we're grateful to God that it hasn't escalated. Pharaoh did the same in the days of old, that man feels superior and thinks others who are non-egyptians should be slaves to him or bow to him. That makes me think hmmm 🤔 . Its one thing to be careful of someone and to hate. You're at the rear. No one is holding you, we've already left you to continue what you've been doing for years. You can still be proud of your culture without looking down on others or hating them for who they are. Imagine what the guy told me in the trotro. Why hating on other tribes? God knows why he form that tribe therefore they're as relevant as any other person on earth. With all sincerity, I've always heard stories about Ashantis hating on other tribes until it happened to me. I even have a good friend who is Ashanti. He told me that his mom doesn't approve of his girlfriend (now wife) because she's an Ewe. He told me "my mother doesn't like her all because she's Ewe. She comes to the house and serves my mother and that wouldn't even change my mom's stone heart". His mother forced an Akan girl on this guy who showed him shege whiles they were dating and he started drinking. A year later, he lost his mom and he went in for the Ewe girl. Now, my friend is living largely with his Ewe wife of 4 years in turkey. They have 2 beautiful children, boys and a big mansion in Ghana. That hateful mother will go and give full account to God. Desist from Tribalism, a sure way to hell. I WON'T FORCE YOU TO BELIEVE, JUST READ THE BIBLE TO CONFIRM. REPENT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.
every tribe should also try to project themselves, if we feel one tribe is dominanting, just look for something you can also do to make your tribe better. Most people dont even go to their hometowns, dont speak their local dialect to their kids and we are blaming some of our failures on other tribe. Honestly I dont even know the chief in my hometown, yet I know the Ashanti chief. I need to blame my family.
I’m an Ashanti and it’s just facts. We are tribal af! So many times as a kid o heard from other Ashantis how we are smarter than other tribes as if we are special mtcwww
What you said about what Sakodie said, the Ashantis tell their kids the same stuff about Krobos, that Krobo girls are prostitutes, as if Ashanti girls don't partake in prostitution
where did u hear Asantes telling their kids that Krobo girls are prostitutes .... mo gyimii no... u have never step foot in Kumasi before buh Nkwaseasɛm saa
Ha!Man stop this stereotyping of Asanti people.Do you leave in any Asanti house or do you leave with their families. What you are saying is a figment of your imagination.Asantis don't care anything about any tribe. They are rather victims of your stereotypes. They never complain about anything.
We have better things to think about ...there has been tribal banter from long time abd we have tolerated each other ...noy now...every tribe has been picked on as jokes and banter it's not now some people are starting to be angry about ... Let's focus on the economy and the struggles...
I’m an Akan guy and my wife is Ewe, the first day I visited her family, they asked me of my tribe. Her grandfather said if I were to be a Kumasiano, like them never go gree 😂
As for me, I've experienced this tribal things in Uni paaa from the Shanties, of course. As a voltarian, I've never known that a parent can tell his/her kids not to make friends from a particular group of people. I was shocked. Even recently, I was in a trosky and the driver was insulting another trosky driver "ayigbenii", as in that's the insult. So, to me derr as for Ashanties, they are so much invested into this tribal issues. But I see them as they don't know much because I can't understand why they reason the way they do.
Seriously the Ashantis are being dragged too much even on twitter, on twitter anytime any person messes up then they attribute it to ashantis.. twitter boys are the problem bro
The only crime we Asantes have committed is because we are proud of who we are. I am an Asante but most of my friends are from other tribes in fact aside being Asante and a christian most of my close friends are muslim and I have never had any problem with them. So please can someone really tell us our crime of being Asantes? I dnt want to hear they think they are better and superior, please tell me exactly what? If you we think we are better also feel same about yourself what is the big deal. Aba
@@KarineLajoie-ne9xpthank you God bless you for being sincere. It happened to me like a movie, innocent me sitting my somewhere o. I wouldn't have believed my own experience if its another person narrating it. Even my dear mother experienced it. Due to this, she warned us all not to marry an Ashanti else if they start hating on us, she won't be there. I never took her words serious until my first shocker happened in a troski. Brethren, I felt awful, lost, oppressed. Being proud of your culture mustn't come with looking down on others. Remember the history textbook written by an Ashanti man where he abased almost all the tribes in Ghana except his tribe? His main target was Ewes, he called them names 😢😢 but Ablakwa intervened. I know Ashanti will always hate on other tribes, especially Ewes and Northerners. From time immemorial till date, it's in their past records.
Gymiiiii saa. Instead of putting more pressure on our leaders, we are rather concentrated with on tribal stuff. In this 21th century . Ghana de3 oh thats why these thieves politicians take advantage of us. We are not focused. Gymiiiii saaa till God comes.
This tribal silliness before elections happened in Nigeria as well just before elections and ruined everything. yooo, make you people dey there den fool. We have more pressing issues.
Brooo back in school my class mate who is a voltarian wanted to me to Volta, I informed my mum about it do you know what she told me, she said, they will kill me and a lot of stuffs, till date I’ve never visited Volta region and the funny part is that, my girlfriend is a voltarian 😂😂😂😂😂 and am a Fante
Y’all don’t get it, insults happen when you are involved in a fight or conflict with another. “Ayigbeni” is just how they refer to Ewes in their language, it is not offensive. The “aboa” is what we all know to be an insult and that doesn’t necessarily imply tribalistic attitude towards them. Conflicts happen and people float insults, it’s human nature…..deal with it
Ewes do same to every tribe in Volta region. It's just common to all tribes in Ghana except northerners, We the notherners are not tribalistic. Ewes, Gas, Ashantis and other tribes are like that, but to Ashantis, they are just proud of their tribe and I see nothing wrong with that though
@@clementasampana4402 if a different tribe descend on Ashanti’s concerning an issue, it’s normal but if it’s the opposite wahala… u people are not serious We will never lower our standards for anything
My father is fante mother akyem but I was born fair red eyes when the sun is up or I am dehydrated but you meet people especially ladies and they call u an ewe even without getting to know u first , People react to u according to what they see in so many things I get depressed Ghana must stop this tribalism thing it's serious and a big shame for us
Exactly what everyone is arguing about. You have this false sense of superiority. If we're to sit and highlight the various criteria, you wouldn't be the best
@@I.am.SeyramAren't u also proud of ur tribe anaa? The simple thing is that Ashantis are proud of their tribe and that's the reason some people are mad, I don't see anything wrong with that. Then u should also be proud of yours. Why are people mad because someone is proud of his or her tribe? are people mad in this country? Why is this a big deal, arh?😂
No one shd ever fault anyone for having preferences with people they’d want to marry. That has nothing to do with being tribalistic, it’s a preference. Being offensive to them for being proud of their culture or how they do their things is what tribalism is.
What KT blah, blah said is the least of the Tribalism brouhaha, the influence of mother tongue on the English language is everywhere. Asantes stand out because most of them have placed themselves up there: they feel unnecessarily superior! Most Asantes feel entitled. That's the fact! Northerners are usually tagged and stereotyped. The gospel of UNITY IN DIVERSITY needs to be propagated.
You can be proud of your tribe and not weigh it on everyone else. Them niggas always like "do you know me, do you know where I come from?" Chale be proud but put it in your pocket
When you travel outside Ghana, you will see how small the country is for us to be engaging in tribalism. The entire land area of Ghana is comparable to just one province in China. These issues of whose tribe is superior or inferior are needless. In this 21st century, inciting tribal conflict should be the last thing on the mind of any Ghanaian. The interesting thing is that the subjects are always the problem. These traditional leaders of various tribes have mutual respect for one another, yet their subjects keep fighting. We should stop focusing on unnecessary issues and learn to coexist with mutual respect for one another. That's what's most important.
I am an Akan half Bono and half Ashanti. Ashanti's are becoming too tribalistic. They have this self superiority . They think they are better than anyone else.
The concept of human superiority and tribal superiority doesn't exist! While most people view it as an evil practice, I see it as a mental disorder. A superiority complex is an exaggerated sense of self-worth. It hides real feelings of mediocrity. People who look down on other people don’t end up being looked up to; the superiority of some men is merely local; they feel great because their associates are little. In fact, people with a superiority complex frequently have boastful attitudes towards people around them. But these are merely a way to cover up feelings of failure or shortcoming.
When I saw the Ashantis, I was like, ‘Ow, what did we do this time? 😂🥲’ But on a serious note, why would anyone stereotype against another person because of their tribe? That’s ridiculous. Tribalism is just plain stupid
@@afiaserwaahboateng6748 Ewes call us dzogbea wo ala wo. Massa I say ewes do worse laa. I was born and bred in Volta, that's where I have lived, so stop lying
The Ashantis are the most tribalistic, they feel they are better and superior to the other tribes which their NOT, no other tribe is, they should grow up!!!
I AM ASHANTI AND WHAT I NO IS, OUR ANCESTORS DIDN'T WANT US TO MARRY ANYBODY WHO WE DON'T UNDERSTAND THEIR LANGUAGE SIMPLE BECAUSE, THEY NO THAT ASHANTIES HAVE MORE ENEMIES AROUND THEM IN GHANA, SO THEY DON'T ALOW THEIR PEOPLES TO GO AND ENTER INTO PROBLEMS, OR TO GO AND BRING ANOTHER CHILD FROME DIFFERENT TRIBE OR PEOPLES TO BECOME TO BE A CHIEF IN THEIR FAMILY BECAUSE EVERY FAMILY HAVE A STOOL IN ASHANTI, SO THESE ARE SOME OF THE REASONS
This is what i believe, Ghana was predominately Akan in the. old Ghana empire, before other tribes were joined. to them. It's natural for them to be "hostile" to other cultures to protect their tradition. I think inherently Ashanti's like to even marry from their own clan. probably that's. why. they pass that. tradition down to their children.. I was kind to an Ashante family that didnt like ewes, they didnt know i was ewe. they always mentioned they didn't. like ewes. The day they found out i was ewe, they were embarrassed. there are good people and bad people, the culture can have an influence to some extent . But the choice for you to make a difference is ultimately yours.
True, personally all the Ashantis and Voltarians I have around are very kind and are very enthusiastic about learning from other cultures. So this tribal issue is not a general thing. Some of them are genuinely good
Asantes are just proud of their customs. Is that a problem? Ei, be proud of your tribe and leave the Asantes alone. It's only in the Ashanti Region that has different tribes leaving there with large vast lands... example, Nfante new town, Moshi zongo, Anloga etc. What again should they do? Hatred nkoaa😂
Teasing an Asante because of what they wear or how some of them pronounce some Aphabets is no where near tribalism. If you're Akan and you don't have a pronunciation problem, no one will rub that against you tribalistically. Let's look at the Ewes for example, its typical for all of them to be rejected by an Akan family for the crime of just being an Ewe in regards to marriage. That Ewe person may have no bad record or may even be a good Christian but they'll likely still be discriminated against on the notion of their affinity to black magic.
Honestly I don’t know how these people are comparing not being able to pronounce R and L to a tribe referring to another tribe as animals or black magic users😂
This tribd thing my dad had to swear affidavit for me cos i was using my grandfather's name which is an ewe name cos my brother was refused a job cos he is an ewe
