Finally someone else that shares this opinion. These spineless easily influenced people are out here praising how trustworthy chickens are but I've never met one that I enjoyed being around
I had a religious experience the first time I sucked tea through a tim tam, my friend came to school with a pack and offered me one and suggested I drink some tea through it like a straw. I saved it until I got home that evening. Oh my god was it good.
I don't want to get all nationalist about snacks but you can't dump on British snacks and count Maltesers as a win for Aussies over Brits when they were first sold in the UK.
@@SenyaiGrubs it looks like those were made in Australia and perhaps theirs are different - I have heard their chocolate is different but a quick look on Wikipedia indicates that the concept is British.
@@that_dude0nbacon my American friend didn’t want to try malteasers because he said they’re the same as whoppers, convinced him to try them and now he loves them
@@that_dude0nbacon They are basically the same ingredients but they do taste slightly different. As a Canadian with no horse in this race, I’d say the Maltesers are better. Whoppers are a bit too big, but then again, the clue is in the name…
@@DoraG99 Penguin bars don’t lure you in with the joke lass, Penguin Bars have been my go to chocolate that has been enjoyed by many couple of people for years. But what sets Penguin Bars apart from Tim Tams is the jokes that are printed on the back of the packaging. These jokes are often silly, pun-filled, and always guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, like the warm embrace of a long lost relative. Now, you may be thinking, "What's the big deal about a few silly jokes on the back of a snack?" But for me, and I'm sure for many others, these jokes represent something much more than just a bit of entertainment. In today's world, we are bombarded with negativity and stress from all angles. Whether it's news of political unrest, economic uncertainty, or environmental disasters, it's easy to become overwhelmed by the challenges we face. And that's where the jokes on the back of Penguin Bars come in. These jokes provide a brief moment of respite from the chaos of the world. They remind us that there is still joy and laughter to be found in the simplest of things. And they serve as a reminder that sometimes, it's the little things in life that can make all the difference. So, the next time you find yourself enjoying a Tim Tam, take a moment to reflect on penguin bars and the joke on the back of the packaging. And remember, even in the darkest of times, there is always a reason to smile. - P.S Australia doesn’t exist.
I love how he chose an English chocolate (maltesers), and a chocolate biscuit based on an English one (TimTams - Penguin) when comparing English and aussie snacks
theyre called chips here:-] Maltesers are also not australian but yes tim tams are great esp w hot drinks when u do tim tam slams it doesnt really work as well with cold drinks you gotta like...melt the chocolate inside w the hot drinks
Those tom Tam's were smaller and looked really weird. Like they were melted and cooled all lumpy. They don't look like that here in Australia. But if they taste the same then that's what counts!
Maltesers are British, as are Starburst, Kit Kat, Twix, Rolo’s and possibly Skittles. Cadbury & Galaxy wins over any American chocolate too 😂 Edit: too many people saying the same thing…it’s irrelevant what big company has since bought these products out, I’m talking about the country of origin
@@crrd1528 I haven’t had Milka enough times to really notice a big difference between it and Cadbury. An American British chocolate fusion that is great…the Cadbury Oreo bar 👌
@@kJ922-h3j It tastes about the same a s cadbury but is 1/2 the price so definately wins out. You can get a milka bar over double the size of a dairy milk for roughly 1.5 times the price.
The straw thing is usually with a hot drink which I think probably eases the workload on your sucking muscles. Also can be achieved with Penguins, which are a UK snack!
We have all three of these in Britain, Thins are just basically the same as Walkers crisps but with a different brand name, the Tim Tams are basically Penguin bars but again with a different brand name and we do have Maltesers too Edit: also Maltesers are actually British not Australian. They were first sold and made in Britain in 1937 but are sold in Australia along with a few other countries
@Pentium4Protogen You tend to learn a lot of new things when you're stuck in the void for however long with nothing to do, good thing there's free WiFi!
Tip: when doing a tim tam slam, you should do it with a hot drink (hot chocolate works well of course, but tea or coffee (for that mocha) also taste great). That way, once you drink a bit up through your timtam, you immideately chuck it in ur mouth. And boom, melted chocolate timtam
in australia, they call thin slices of potato that are fried 'chips' and long sticks of potato that are fried 'chips' and i admire that they dont seem to give a shit
"that's a low bar so probably" as a Brit I can confirm. Everything is awful now. Cheaper ingredients, less salt/sugar/flavour in everything and everything is tiny despite costing more. Every time I buy something i haven't had in a while i end up getting a shock at how bad it's become. Branded chocolate tastes like cheap own-brand stuff! My Estonian friend introduced me to Fazer (Finnish chocolate) a while ago and my goodness, chocolate is ruined for me now. It's just so expensive to get here 😢
The straw thing is called a Tim-Tam slam. But you have to bite off diagonal corners (like top left and bottom right) and then its easier to use it like a straw. Drink with a hot drink like coffee, Milo, hot choccy whatever floats your boat. The insides become melty and delicious.
@@ragejackson7136they are British, Tim Tams are a version of a British original - penguins. Vegemite is a version of a British original - Marmite. You can thank us for you having the meat pies too 😎
British snacks and candies are pretty good but their actual food is probably even worse than the USA. France, Italy, and Korea probably have the best food overall from the places I've been to on business trips.
@@Travybear1989 Actual American food is on par or worse than UK food tbf. African American cuisine props it up massively, Anglo American food (like dishwasher salmon🤢) is far worse than any dish from the UK.
Maltesers are from the UK (though admittedly invented by an American). They were first introduced in 1937 and marketed as "energy balls" aimed at slimming women.
The most impressive thing is that the thin chips weren't reduced to tiny specks before the bag was opened. No matter how puffy the bag, thin chips always hate to travel😂.
You need to use a hot or at least warm beverage to do the Tim Tam Slam. The hot beverage will melt the chocolate inside giving it a great texture and flavor.
@@trinity1181still a version of a British snack though, and you can’t complain about it being highlighted when he said these are better than British snacks, when two of them are British originally anyway 😂
@@foodwins if you swnd me some I'll send you some Ethiopian food back....(I was trying to use the "have you ever tried Ethiopian food? No? Neither have they" joke but it just didn't work out. In conclusion the punchline was if you sent me your snacks I wouldn't send anything back)
As an Aussie you gotta chill the tim tams ("double coated" variant are a delicious close 2nd) & maltesers in the fridge, tim tam slam with cold milk and also try Pizza shapes. 9/10 video :D glad to see us getting the respect we deserve
If you want Australian snacks. These ones are actually invented in Australia. Cherry Ripe, Violet Crumble, Spearmint leaves, Minties, PollyWaffles (discontinued), Wizz Fizz, Jaffas. Just to name a few. As for chips. Most people go for the red rock deli chips.
The timtams there look a bit shorter and thicker than the ones we get in Australia. Best way to do a timtam slam is but one corner off, then bite the diagonally opposite corner on the other end. Warm tea or hot chocolate is ideal for the slam. You gotta be quick after you suck it through though coz the hot liquid melts the heck out of the inside of the timtam and its only a matter of time before its mush
Hot milk, Hot Chocolate, hot Milo Or a coffee mate, not water, you have to place the Tim Tam packet in the fridge or freezer if you're a beginner. Us Aussie's Personally invented putting the Tim Tam in the freezer/Fridge to help young children who have trouble with the TimTam Slam and new visitors too, and for people who just prefer it really. Best of luck .
Little bit of knowledge, chicken flavoured stuff isn’t actually meant to be chicken flavoured. It’s the flavours of a seasoning blend that you might normally put on chicken. That’s how chicken salt got its name, for being a seasoning salt blend to put on roast chickens
wait till u try australian crispy m&ms. i swear to god they are literally the best m&ms u have ever tasted in the world. theres something about the australian milk chocolate and the crispy texture,so light and fluffy complimenting the thick chocolatey sweetness....u can almost eat a jumbo bag in two days. the day before i left australia i always go to coles and grab like 3 or 4 jumbo bags.
