I haven’t done it myself, but you could sharpen a standard blade over & over and probably do a thousand cuts…not so easy with carbide. 🤔 Great video. 🍷🎩🎩🎩✌️
Carbide blades are thicker in width and height causing more friction. Also, those are nail embedded blades. They're not meant for screws, as they chewed up the teeth after the first video.
I am thinking that it may be best to pull out the carbide on only the really nasty cuts. Don't see any evidence here that the carbide blade will last a ton longer.
Could it be that the carbide blades being thicker it is slowing down their cutting speed? Maybe, eventually, the carbide blades will surpass the speed of the regular blades as the regular blades dull. Kind of a tortoise and hare scenario. Also you used clean wood...not nail/ screw embedded stuff. Hit one or two drywall screws with a regular blade and it's game over for the regular blade. As for the discrepancy between the first and second tests...beats me. Human error?
