Like you, I admire older ladies who have acquired a great quality wardrobe and maintain their sense of style, mostly ignoring trends, into their 80s and beyond. I buy good quality leather goods, footwear, bags and belts, and wear them forever. Some of my favorite shoes are 35-40 years old, I take great care of them and get them refurbished by a cobbler when needed, I’m 62. I’m glad you got these shoes, I like them, too and they give you a lot of pleasure and indeed will last a lifetime. They will pay well on a cost-per-wear (CPW) basis, despite the high acquisition cost, you will be hooked on their comfort, and CPW is what really matters.
I have a pair (exact) I purchased in Paris while visiting from the US. I love 💗 them. They are indeed true to size, comfortable, and flattering. If you love them you’ll wear them for a gazillion years ….I know I will!

I love these and very comfortable. Bought a second pair this year in the brown! Congrats on your purchase. I put rubber soles on after I wore them a couple of times as the leather sole wears fast.

You will love these. I have the exact same. I did not resole them yet. They were a little slippery at the beginning but now they are fine and do not seem to have worn off to an extend that would worry me. They have a great structure and I think they will last many years. I have two small children and it's great to be able to wear some stylish shoes. Don't know how Chanel does it, but even in these my feet look thinner, love it!

I definitely put soles on the bottom of my shoes! For an extra 50$ it makes them last forever, I say DO IT!!! It prevents it from sliding everywhere and the original soles gets so damaged walking in ANY type of rocks, it makes a bad dent! So lots of wear and tear, if you want it to last long I would add soles :)
I have 4 pair…. I lovvvvvvvvvvve them. Comfortable luxury is what they are. I have not gotten anything done to the sole but they are slippery. I wore then in Vegas for 9 hours with no pain.

I went with my true size and they are just perfect. But I hear that many people go a size down. So if you have the opportunity try both sizes or if not, try them in 40 first and then go from there.💕
Wondering how long they last? I think few years not than that if you wear often...wiuld be interesting to know maybe you could do video in next years feedback how they look.
I like chunky shoes, they highlight my delicate legs. I also think they’re great for heavy legs, they give balance and are much more flattering than a heavy body teetering around on dainty heels. I would have a rubber sole added right away, as soon as you are sure there are no comfort issues and you will keep them. Not only do leather soles wear out quickly, but I have had some bad slips and falls wearing them on damp pavement. Legs in casts or surgical booties are not great looks!
Chanel sandals 😍 I’m sorry for this late intimate question, but what bra do you wear underneath your white top? I cannot find a bra like yours - it is so sleek and invisible with no straps. Most of lingerie shops sell strapless bra with huge push-up 😢

I don’t think Chanel shoes would work for me, I’m an Average, or C width, and they look narrow, like an A-B width, as with most shoes. I’d love to get a pair of their classic slingbacks, but one can’t size up a lot in this style, as is possible with boots, for example. The “less shoe” there is, the closer the shoe length must be to that of the foot, or they just won’t stay on. I wish they would offer Average and Wide widths, not everyone has long, narrow feet, mine are super-short, US 6, but slightly wide at the toes. Another reason I love chunky shoes: they give my tiny feet more presence.
One til about the Velcro fasteners, which I love: try to keep them clean, if a lot of dust and lint accumulates on the Velcro, they won’t hold as well. Uncovered in the bottom of closet is the worst location, I would keep them in the dust bag.
