Hitting the charity shops with not much luck, I’d feels like they are at an end. Come and see what I got or didn’t get

They check the price of everthing online. No bargains in them anywhere. You’d think they paid for the stock they sell.

Some charity shops thrown items away if they don’t sell

@@joyjoJ4ever Lots of charity shops throw out donations without even attempting to look through or sell them, basically they get donated and they have too much stock so just put in the skips. How do I know? via skip diving thats how. The truth is shocking! If you only begin to understand the kind of stuff they throw its unbelievable. I have found better stuff in their skips than they have displayed in their windows! FACT

HAHAHAHA yeah, they check the price that all these resellers are selling it for on ebay and performing the role a charity shop should in maximizing its income by pricing it at market rates. Then all the bottomfeeding resellers come on youtube and cry about how they can't exploit a pricing discrepancy for their own personal greed anymore.

Im not a seller, i went into a charity shop and their prices for most things are a joke, for second hand stuff its expensive. I wanted to buy a book they had priced at £10, i offered them £8 and they turned it down, book still in shop unsold. Honestly, they get given this stuff for free....now they are jacking up the prices
@MarketManMike

Yeah it’s daft they price too high. They should price competitive and clear it through, that way they always have a fresh looking shop that changes and isn’t stagnant and they can make space for new stock. Worst thing is having dead stock that doesn’t move and turning away donations because of lack of space. They should see all stock as a £ figure that goes straight to the charity instead of getting precious about the goods like it’s their personal property But that’s just my opinion Thanks for watching

Charity shops near me don't want more donations because the back rooms are full. However they still refuse to drop their prices....
@MarketManMike
@MarketManMike 6 месяцев назад
Doesn’t make any sense does it🤷‍♂️ Simple business model should be to turn the stock over fast, make a profit and replace with new stock. No point holding onto stuff that doesn’t sell, if someone can’t donate then there’s a chance they’ll just throw it into land fill which isn’t good

@@MarketManMikethere’s a shop near me that prices sensibly, it’s a small shop with a wealthy clientele of donators and not much competition around. The manager is great, prices things at 30% of eBay prices (she checks and knows her stuff) and things fly out the door meaning constant customers and constant space for donations. She gets it, she knows it’s underpriced but also understands that she’s not paying sellers fees and doesn’t have the market that a massive online auction site does. It’s quite unique, and if I ran a chazza that’s how I’d do it.
@crabapples1995

She also has good relations with the few other resellers and both her and the other manager look pleased when we come in, as we spend large amounts regularly.

Just came across your video by accident really, I used to be an ebay seller for 19 years, I started back in 1999 before ebay UK was even launched, then you could sell everything you had pretty easily, it was very rare for an item to end unsold. Slowly over time it got harder and harder to sell, then the 1p Chinese sellers came along lol. I'm actually surprised people are still trying to flip charity shop items, they twigged the ebay re-sellers years and years ago! RU-vid will be the next online money making platform to go south too, it's just a matter of time before there are more channels than viewers, just like ebay started to get more selllers than buyers.
@MarketManMike
@MarketManMike 6 месяцев назад
Yeah it is tougher now. I do it as a hobby as I work full time but I just enjoy the hunt rummaging around and searching for stuff. The fact is I can earn money from it is a bonus too. I also started RU-vid earlier this year as more of a motivator to get me out and about and to carry on the hunt and document it. Thanks for watching

To many people trying to make money on items at above expectation prices, just because something sold for X doesn't say it will sell again for the same, it's like gambling, you may win the jackpot once but you rarely win again

Yes definitely. They have priced themselves out of the market. To greedy with their prices have stopped providing affordable items to families in need and aiming for the upmarket clientele. I see one close most weeks now. Its back to car boots now for people

It sounds like Charity shops have just died in your part of the world but they have been dead down south for several years. If your thing is Toys, Gaming & clothes you have incredible competition for anything under priced. The problem is even if your first to see something the days of ignorant shop staff underpricing are pretty much over. We all have phones & we can all scan. Nice to see your selling books, specialising can help with the margins as they are easy to price check but most shops don't.
@MarketManMike
@MarketManMike 6 месяцев назад
I find books are always overlooked so it’s a good way for me to tick over sales and margins are good. As you say, everyone is wise now on toys, games etc so I’ll have to get to more car boots to make it worthwhile Thanks for watching

Remember, it's not the price of goods that have increased it is the value of your currency that has decreased. Your British Pound is debt based and your country is 2 trillion in debt and increasing by 2000 gbp every second
