Cookie is a Manger who knows the lower leagues inside out and got Pompey promoted as champions from league two then Wigan as well as Chesterfield before that . They put us out of the cup last year and were as good as most league one sides we played . Swindon did really well to get back in that game .
No idea where they pulled the at second half display from! They were better; but I feel like chesterfield were perhaps a little too comfortable, then got shook and it took them a while to get back into it. Positives and negatives for both teams though and a lot of possibility for both as well. You guys have a great coach though like you said and you’re heading in the right direction!
I predicted Chesterfield to finish 3rd. They have a strong squad. Naylor,Dobra,Grigg Madden and the other lads can surely compete in this league. Paddy Madden led Stockport to win the league last year. Can he do it with Chesterfield too?
Bookies making Chesterfield title favourites was always dumb. Sure we want back to back titles but that’s different from saying it will definitely happen. Personally I don’t have a clue where we will end up but it will be higher than 15th.
Think your predictions for both are low. Think chesterfield can squeak into the top 10 and Swindon will be comfortably mid table . Great footage btw - what camera are you using ? Shows it was a def pen .

Would have took 1-1 before game started tbf, wrexham got promoted and they conceded 5 goals opening game, stockport also lost. Do feel frustrated at the fact we should have had a nailed on pen, and swindon did absolutely naff and only had 1 shot on target and it was that thundercunt of a strike😅🤦♂️ 60% possession, more shots/shots on target and we was the ones going for the winner fills me with more confidence. Second half showed them too much respect and let them play in patches. Still need some new signings+paddy madden back in a couple of weeks. Lets see where we are 10-15 games in
Hate to break it to chesterfield, but they seem like notts last season. Predicted to be top but will soon fall apart (I think). I think in some days they will look like one of the best in the league and the next week the worst. They just need better players but see how it goes for them.
As a Chesterfield fan myself I don't think you'll find many of us who think we're THAT good and expect to get promoted again. We know our limitations. It's all about continual progress on and off the pitch - however slow it is.
Enjoyed this ,well done for coming ,fair assessment of the game although had the 100% nailed on pen been awarded it would have been an easy 3 points. 4 players missing so let's see where we are in 9/10 games time,
As a Chesterfield fan I think we will get top half of the table easily and possibly playoffs but I don't reckon we will get autos unless we adapt to league 2 quickly and we don't suffer anymore injuries.
Our 3 main centre backs were injured in pre-season so the back 4 was 3 new players and our usual CDM Naylor. Having Naylor at the back meant we missed him in the middle and didn't really have anyone to break up Swindon's play in the second half, hence their CB strolling straight through the middle and equalising. Poor goal to concede, but our keeper didn't have a save to make otherwise and it should've been 2-0 in the first half. Felt a draw was harsh tbh.
Completely agree! I think it was chesterfields to lose, and that referee decision was a shocker!! Given time you guys are only going to get better so hopefully it’s a good season for you guys!

I've no gripe with Bromley at all. They've done incredibly well. They did have the massive advantage of playing on a plastic pitch every fortnight though.
Bromley are good at counterattacking football, that is literally it, anti football merchants, they won't get relegated but they'll be like sutton and it won't be long, Only reason they got promoted was the mass of points on their plastic pitch, without that they'd be a top half to midtable NL team still
Like your comment on the game , if it wasn't for the ref we would have beaten Swindon,if that's the sort of referees we going to get next season god help all the teams in league 2, Bye the way that wasn't our first team squad ,we have injuries all our centrehalfs are out and our new sticker, you watch when they all back fit
They could end up fifteenth, considering that no other league two matches have been played yet as of writing this (12:30 August 10), really too early to call
Chesterfield will be struggling to stay in league 2 we give too many goals away, we just let teams come at us and take control . It's not hard to break and Sus out our tactics.

Scored 106 goals last season what the chuff you on about , yes poor goal to concede but that was the ONLY shot on goal!! Get a grip enjoy the ride and don’t be so critical 1 game, just remember had the ref given the stone wall pen 2:0 up would be game over
