I would swap the 980ti for a 1660 super for power usage and drivers. Love the Haswell builds....especially the E3-1270 v3 xeons (20 bucks or so for a 4790 level cpu). People care more about the rgb and case than anything else lol. If the computer does what you need it to do it is viable.
I have three Haswell CPUs (DDR3) in my systems, E3-1265L v3, E3-1270 v3 and E3-1285L v3, all running 32gb DDR3 1600 with RTX cards (2060S, 4060 and 4070). RAM speed definitely isn't a bottleneck.
Ddr3 is still going good it’s cheap and if u get some AliExpress x99 or x79 mobo and cpu combo you can build a pc for around 200-250 bucks. That’s what I did for my first custom pc also 80 bucks for that 980 feels kinda steep I got both of my gtx 1070 for 80 dollars on eBay and 1060s regularly go for around 75
@tzuyulikestoaim I recently picked up some GTX 1060 6GB Models (3 to be exact) for $50 a piece on eBay. They all work too! The GPU in this video was a *GTX980 ti and not a 980.
