So, it looks like Donut franchises have somewhere around 5-7 year payback on initial investment, the question is are you starting with $1M+ investment for a big brand (Dunkin) or $500K investment with an emerging brand like Duck Donuts?

Depends objective. Dunkin sells for 6/7X EBITDA. Duck most likely 3/4X EBITDA. Make Money on cash flow or eventual exit? Also dunkin has more opportunities to make money on the real estate

@@Vettedbiz Would be great to have the choice....but since DD has less availability and much higher investment that might not be an option (as you pointed out in the video). Emerging brands like Duck seem like good alternatives as you could start with one for 1/2 or 1/3 of the investment needed for a DD...or build 2-3 units for the price of a single DD unit! Another intangible is...fresh made donuts delivered to a store (DD uses a commissary model more and more) vs fresh made donuts made on location! You can smell the difference when you walk in, which is part of the customer experience! Thanks for all these great videos BTW!
