Elephants used to be EVEN MORE overpowered, back when they were on the North American server. However, human players showed up and started griefing them to the point where folks just stopped playing that version and it was removed from the game. There has been talk of fans working on a mod that adds them back in by combining old, archived data with the current elephant builds, but nothing's come of that so far.

Elephants actually have pretty good stealth in certain situations. Their feet are covered in a soft padding to support their weight, this makes their footsteps almost soundless. This means if you are not facing an elephant or if your vision was impaired (such as walking at night) you would have no way of knowing if one is approaching until it is too late.

5:14 I think the intent wasn't to hit the Rhino, but to distract it with a noise behind it, to trick it into thinking there was another predator nearby. Rhinos aren't very smart, so I'd say it was a solid plan.

You forgot the two main disadvantages of elephant mains: First, their tusks are highly valuable loot to their only predator. Second, they have an insanely long respawn time. The two combined mean that elephants are rapidly disappearing from the meta, regardless of how OP they might seem otherwise.
