Bellingham held down the left hand side for 60+mins then took over from an exceptional Mainoo and maintained the level, through extra time and buried his penalty, he is England’s most important player. Saka and Walker are a world class right hand side, Foden and Mainoo completing the square was spot on. Luke Shaw needs to hit the ground running with Bellingham on the left for 45-60, get the lead and adjust accordingly, use the subs use the squad. -- Kane -- -Bellingham Foden- Shaw Rice Mainoo Saka -Guehi Stones Walker- Pickford Kane needs to play as a target man and trust the players behind him a touch more.

Only 1 real problem with England and it's the fact that none of them are even remotely at full fitness. They aren't taking risk because they don't have the energy to try and run it down all game. They would rather go slow and whatever happens happens. Whenever England had played anything fast than jogging pace the instantly threaten the other team and look like they can score. When Cole came on for 5 minutes and actually ran he looked the best player out there, the offside goal being 1 of the only times that game they tried, when they made a bunch of attacking subs and threw everything at the goal they scored a last second equalizer and a goal soon as extra time started, and last game whenever they actually started playing with pace they looked good. During the WC England players were running everywhere even when they weren't playing well. Now they just look dead tired grafting through the games

The Ronaldo topic, while subjective; sure, but we should remember that it’s always easy to say this after the fact. CR7 is still playing at a high clip, ppl just have to admit that first. He is aged and otw out, but his form is still good, and they have to also create opportunities for him, you have to cater to him, but that’s the name of the game… if you have Mbappe you don’t play tiki taki, you shoot the gap hard and relentlessly… lastly, it’s not crazy for ppl to go scoreless at this level… so many players don’t make that impact that ppl are demanding out of Ronaldo… it’s almost like ( if he doesn’t score - he be ridiculed harder, only bc of his age, ludicrous, Mbappe is not scoring but no one saying that. It’s just overkill now… Ronaldo is playing bc he still got it, that’s all there is to say. He misses a set piece by an inch and they call for him to let it go… lmao

Nah Rio doesn't watch Saka, coz he's been comfortable going both ways for ages now. Sure, he still prefers cutting in, but this is why he's always doubled up when he plays for Arsenal. Hello Rio, in this EURO every team is playing in almost 4 3 3 but without really using #9 in true sense, they have #9 but there is no service for #9. They are playing as if there is false 9. Most teams have #9 but are they really playing like it? are they getting the service? Mbappe plays like 11, Hojlund played like 11 and 9 but did not get service of 9. Ronaldo played as 9 10 11 , Portugal had too many 10s, Germany had #9 but the service was lacking, Germany definitely lacked width by the wingers, they were often coming too central and getting blocked, rarely Leroy Sane was seen on the line, he was always more near centre than line.

Harry Kane should not start in the semi final. He's not fit enough very slow sits to deep sor him run in for a throw in crazy. He only had 26 touches in 106 minutes . I reckon Watkins or Ivan should start. It needs calling out. If Southgate has to bring on Kane in the second half. He's almost the same sinario to Ronaldo.

I'm portuguese and I have to say, if Ronaldo goes to the next World Cup, he has to be either only an impact-sub or just someone to support and advice the young ones in the dressing room (similar to what Aguero did). In general, we just need to move on. As far as the 22:57 argument goes ("where was Portugal before Ronaldo"), there's context to everything, especially history. I think all portuguese appreciate what Ronaldo did for our small nation, but let's not forget the impact of the Golden Generation, they were the ones who started it all, and they were inspired by the well-rounded 1984 generation (that only lost to a brilliant year by Platini). That being said, there's then 2 main reasons for portuguese football rise in the 80-90s: the 1st is what happened in the country during the 70s (dictatorship fell, less poverty, more development, etc.), and the 2nd is the investment/foundation of facilities that other big european countries already had but Portugal didn't (football academies, training facilities, training for coaches, stadiums, etc). The generation you see today is a product of that. Most likely Portugal, like Spain, will always have from now on a decent number of talentend players that can choose from the academies. As with anything, Portugal was late...we have an expression here that basically says "we're always 50 years behind other european countries".

@@lourencorp-ly6tn But the argument that Rio used was about qualifying, not about winning trophies or being the best...The german team always has talent and pretty much always qualifies right? that's my point, from now on Portugal will somewhat always have enough talent to do so aswell (also, there's more teams now in the Euros so there's even more chance)
