I have two questions: 1. Why isn't the government pushing car manufacturers to create more strong hybrid cars (petrol/diesel + electric generator)? 2. Why are hybrid cars taxed so heavily? I believe hybrids are a good compromise for better fuel efficiency and reduced pollution. In city traffic (stop-and-go), they would be more efficient than pure internal combustion engine (ICE) cars.
It is because hybrid cars are being mainly manufactured by Japanese company Toyota and Indian purely EV manufacturers restrict govt from giving any subsidy to them because foreign company mainly will be benefited. That will go against the make in India concept. now some Domestic companies also are focusing on hybrid like M&M but they are very far yet in the race.
i think EVs are getting a bad reputation because of tata pumping out substandard products... malfunction, failures, rusting, panel gaps, rattling sounds... Tatas needs to stop taking indian customers for granted...
@@anshulnow i had recently booked the tata curvv, and i swear that night i had a nightmare where someone was saying non stop, " Galti mat karna"... cancelled it... can sleep again
@@nkj9683 show 1 road in Mumbai without a bump. People are buying suv because of bad roads. Can't change roads so buy suv. Now we will have to buy jets soon Let elon musk come here .. Mars = Indian roads
1. Batter price reductions needed 2. Battery technology need to improve 3. Big trusted players like Maruti and Toyota is not going to enter the market till then less ppl going to buy 4. Range need to improve 5. Partially removable and replaceable battery option should be available on road Till these things getting sorted out govt should reduce tax on hybrids 😊
EVs will only succeed if and when Maruti, Honda and Toyota launch their EVs made for India. The other option is Chinese companies entering the market either alone or in partnership with an Indian company. The reason I say this is that EV tech is changing rapidly and is becoming cheaper. But Tata and Mahindra are using costly outdated tech from China and are forcing Indian consumers to bear the cost. They're r&d is only focused on providing cosmetic tune ups to their trucks and tractors which have been converted to cars. So if EVs are to succeed in India, the real car companies will have to step in.
You nailed it !! I have 0% trust in indian companies who exist solely to fleece the customers on one pretext or other like desh ka loha, make in india, be indian buy indian ! Maruti, Toyota and Honda deliver exceptional value to customers that Tata and Mahindra simply cannot match. European cars are way above their league !
One problem that noone discussed is the associated crimes that can arise in charging stations where people has to wait for an hour. This will be an issue in highways, especially for lady drivers. What I feel is that government should have promoted hybrids in the first stage, EVs should be fist introduced as taxi's.
You did not follow social media especially tata motors right. Tata has recently claimed what you get actuall range from evs that is 300 km which you already getting. 465 km are a testing cycle that are conducted by Gov agency ARAI.
I don't think EVs will be a flop. Whatever you have said is correct. But still I am in love with my EV prime for it's easiness to drive, for it's sound less interior environment and the best lack of vibrations of engine. Today I drove for 3 hours continuously but was not tired at all. Fast chargers are coming. I have already saved 4.5 lacs on fuel in last 3.5 years. I bought the car for 14.25 lacs ( as compared to ICE automatic for 12.5 lacs.
@@19021986a no problem with that because after 2.0 lac km it decreased.. than u need to replace cells only... Which cost less than service cost of ic engine
Tata ev selling age old technology with premium pricing. Despite getting 5 percent tax on EVs... Battery prices have fallen significantly over the period of Nexon ev still... Premium pricing... Not developing proper EVs and cramming EV drive train in ICE chasis (poor back seat comfort, compare with Windsor EV vs Curvv ev)... People are actually doing well not buying first gen EVs at a premium pricing...
My personal advice is . Life of battery is 2000 to 3000 charging cycles depending on type of battery .. i.e the batery can last from 4 lakh kilometers to 5 lakh kms .. if I purchase XUV 400 today at a discount of 3 lakh rs . And use this car for next 10 to 15 years and drive it for nearly 2. 5 lakh kilometers . I will save rs 12.5 lakh / in diesel if the price of diesel remains same as of today.. and. Nearly rs 17 lakh if compared with petrol vehicle .. I will buy XUV 400 ... As it will save a lot of money and also this cars is automatic. Have all disc brakes have hill hold feature and many more ... I have a Kia seltos diesel automatic which is of rs 19 lakh on road .. and running cost is rs 6 per kilometer. And if I buy ev at discount price it will cost rs 15 lakh and will save lot of money in running
Absolutely true, all you tubers are misguiding the public, as an ev owner I can see the benefit for last 2 years and will strongly recommend for city use..it's worth it....
Are you completely writing off the vehicle after 5 years? Zero resale value! Best is set up an SIP with half the money saved every month..and have some money to buy your next car
Bhai, 5 lakh km tak battery chalegi hi nahin. Moreover you'll get tired of the same vehicle for 15 years. Fatigue will start with first major repair or service ! Especially AC issues.
My 1.5 yr experience with Ioniq 5 EV: Range is > 500 kms and good enough . It provides home charger and a portable 16 A power plug compatible plug in charger that takes care of emergencies too. Non availability of super chargers anywhere that can charge fully in half hour is a little concerning on long route . But , if provision exists in the house in parking place , charging is very convenient . It takes 6-8 hrs overnight to fully charge ( much less time if charged before full discharge ) 72 KWHr battery . Cost per km is usually Re1 to 1.25 /km if charged at home . Hidden cost is that of expensive tyres ( Rs 55000 x 4) that need replacement at 50000-60000 kms or 4/5 yrs , whichever earlier . Almost Re4/km cost . Tyres being special are not easily available in free market . Any burst or flat tyre replacement takes a long time . Its ADAS and assisted safety systems for collision avoidance are extremely good , without disturbance in normal driving . Concerns are 1) non availability of Stepney 2) RSA though provided by Hyundai , not being so good 3) Non availability of competent repairers locally and missing expertise even in authorised centres . 4) What if the car remains submerged knee deep water in heavy rains . Battery is at bottom . Ground clearance is low . 5) Battery replacement cost is exorbitant and unspecified for India . Could be unbearable 2/3rd price of car or so ( unknown) as per unreliable internet information ; who bears it if not covered in warranty or insurance , if it is due to damage on big speed breaker or in a pit or on off roading or sbmerged in water > 1/2 meter for > half hour ? No clarity on conditions . What if it needs replacement after 8 yrs of warranty . No after market or free market repair/availability 5) No provision of extended warranty on Battery beyond 8 yrs and extended warranty on other parts beyond 5 yrs even on extra payment . Plug in hybrid may be a better choice unless driving is very heavy .
Geekyranjeet is no automobile expert. I have seen one or two of his videos on this subject, his knowledge of automobiles is 0, i.e., z e r o! To his credit, he gives the airs of an expert without knowing a damn thing. He can review mobile phones. Not automobiles.
EV is the future. And price drop is an obvious plan and sensible, otherwise, who would pay such extra amount when they can buy MG windsor at just 10L? So TATA, in order to be competitive, it was an obvious play.
and like the video states, now you cant even think of a resale option, you are stuck with a car you dont like and dont want to drive, that was the goal it seems from the start :)
Good and valid points. Till the charging infra is updated and scaled, EV's will continue to suffer from low demand. Also you rightly pointed out that EVs being new have not seen a battery lifecycle. There are a lot of unknowns and it seems the running of offset by the replacement cost.
Govt and a handfull of carmakers have themselves decided that EVs are better for the customers without asking the customer. But i think for a country like India, Alternative fuels and Hybrids are a more better and viable option. Govt is only pushing for EVs with no decent ev infrastructure. I will always go for Petrol, Hybrids or Cngs. Also i dont like the way govt is trying to kill the diesel segment by implementing such euro standards..
You are a very genuine person and provide very concrete information. Not able to understand why so low views. Anyway subscribing today for your channel
Not sure whats happening...instead of having strict RTO rules on diesel and petrol cars about a good maintenance, they are just banning Diesel cars completely which is not good...thousnads of govt vehicles/busses still go on roads with hell of smoke ... Its our kharma ..thats all
They are not ev they are battery operated toys Actual ev is indian railway's electric engine 😂 If car companies provides throughout supply of electricity in cars and no battery definitely electric cars kills every fuel operated car
Lithium Ion Batteries don't cut it. Give us better battery technologies: 1) safer, no thermal runaway 2) better energy density 3) better power density 4) better temperature range 5) requires simpler battery management system. 6) inexpensive 7) easy to source and ethically sourcable raw materials
@@kamathln battery technology is in a developing stage, definitely on its way to perfection. Bro Problem is till then lets not fall prey to an evolving technology. Stick on to your existing vehicles or go for used ICE cars.
@@nitinjadhav-wj4zv Doesnt look like Indian companies , labs and governments are taking it in a serious coordinated way. If yes, why don't we see more of variety in battery tech? Why are we stuck with Lithium Ion, LiFePo, etc?
EV car has many problems 1. Cost is two times high, subsidy is very less 2. They also pollute the environment a lot during manufacture, even more than petrol/diesel cars. 3. No resale value 4. Charging time is more 5. During big traffic jams with AC working the battery may drain out completely . 6. A Sudden journey planning may not be possible.
Bhai saab, why do you only think from your pov? Kabhi environment and Indian economy ke pov se bhi sochiye. City ke andar pollution jo hota hai wo to sabko pata hi hai, but understand how it hurts our country's foreign reserves and imports. India imports almost all its oil from outside, and we pay around 10-20 lakh crores annually in foreign currency to purchase it.
Ev Car ki rate kam ho rahi he to acha hi he kyuki cost bhi kam ho rahi he kahi na kahi....jiska daily use bohot jyada he unke liye to evs bohot benifitiel hai
Not only India, the whole world is yet to accept the EV revolution ! There is no real threat to ICE. So forget what Gadkari says or any other fool says. Real worry is then when we see an electric powered passenger Aircraft flying non-stop from Mumbai to New York or Mumbai to Frankfurt !
I don't understand why government are not reducing gst on hybrids. Perfect decision will be to go with electric plus hybrid if they are really concerned about the environment.
It's future technology so india accept it after minimum 5 years and maximum 10 years because Indian are playing safe game..new technologies always take time in india to accept... it's our nature
No clarity on future of ev cars because of not enough charging stations and scare of spending very big amount replace battery after few years, budget user cant take that much risk to spend lot of amount on battery after few years 😂
Still evs can give you range anxiety, don't ever go by the range claimed by the manufacturer, in real world you will get only half of the claimed range
Gagan Ji, Brilliant Video. Just one humble request - Even if EV is flop, lets become a Patriot and use MG or BYD Brand or Korean Car (Kona EV) Car in Thumbnail. So that people should be inspired not to buy EV of Chinese , Korean company if they don't want. Brilliant Video.
Digging oil from huge oil rigs(huge amounts of resources)- Transporting the oil in huge oil ships(source of high maritime pollution) to huge oil refineries- Converting crude oil to petrol/diesel using rare earth minerals and huge amounts of electricity- Then transporting it through big oil tankers(source of high highway pollution)to petrol stations- Finally the fuel is dispensed to vechiles and they produce toxic tail pipe emissions which is one the major sources of pollution in cities and the worst part 70% of all the fuel is wasted in converting it to energy as the most efficient of 🧊 engine is not more than 30% efficient.By the way we are not talking anything about the major oil spills of the past(like the one in gulf of mexico where BP was involved) and their catastrophic consequences. After all this MyCarHelpine makes a video every quarter to tell how bad the evs are doing😂😂 how ironic to say the least.
As an ev user, my daily running is 200-210 km and monthly above 5000km and i charge my car daily at home and have also gone on long trips with no issues at all. Even if the car battery fails in the 9th year, i would have recovered the cost i had put on it. I have already done almost 2lakh km and you won't believe that range is increases by 5-10 percent. Its so good and fun to drive that i can't drive any ice car ever. Running cost comes less than 1 rupee/km and service cost is 2-3k max. All this with great performance and no compromise in boot space. I just love my Nexon ev and would never ever sale it❤
Long term viability needs to be reviewed… Battery itself is 40-50% of the cost of the entire car. Plus components that go into the battery lithium, cobalt, iron, etc needs to be mined out of the soil, using high powered diesel engines. The refinement is also done in factories. Plus long term exposure to these minerals causes cancer. Where’s the so called CLEAN & GREEN mobility.
Not only the battery and components of the battery. The battery life, resale value, battery disposal - this will cause huge environmental damage. Also see what’s happening in the US and European countries. People have realised and are switching back to ice, hybrid etc.
Are you living under the rock? Are you blind to the 8 billion tonnes of oil extracted, refined , transported in dirty diesel ships only to be burned once...yea once in your 20% efficient "engine" and then do that again. You aren't even aware that cobalt isnused to remove sulphur from Petrol? The LFP chemistry used on most EVs in India are over 90% recyclable but chose to ignore as it doesn't suit your narritive. Please educate your self before your embarrass yourself any further. Do a favor please stick to ICE...your bread and butter
Do u own electric car? Car price reduced because cost of battery has reduced. It’s not problem and all owners are happy. What’s the credibility of the person. No problem and no issues with electric cars. Only problem is petrol or diesel car are jealous of electric car owners. And there lobby among these cars who don’t want electric cars in markets
So you're comparing self charging device with a fixed charging setup. Moreover, a smartphonecan be taken over to any place but you can't move an ev without charging that.😂😂
Running cost savings for EV = ₹5-6/km. If monthly running = 1500 km and fuel efficiency in city = 12 kmpl, then petrol cost today = ₹ 12,000/month. Yearly cost = ₹1.4 lakhs and in 8 yrs total petrol cost = ₹11.2 lakhs. If battery replacement cost = ₹5 lakhs, then I will buy EV cars. Petrol cost will continue to increase in future, so EV makes economic sense. Reliability of EV cars should improve over time.
Just wanted to add one correction to ev battery replacement. The battery is made up of cells and only the bad cell needs to be replaced. And in future these would be cheeper. The BMS in the battery takes care of the battery health. I have 9 years old e2o and still all cells are healthy.
Also an aspect not shared here. An EV loses it capability in extreme temperatures. Battery depletes quickly or didn't charge as standard time. India is the country if extreme Temperatures hot and cold also.
Nobody is going to buy an EV car if the running is 500 km.pet month. EV cars are for those whose running is more. By the way any decent automatic car now a days costs around 15 lakhs and add the running cost maintenance cost etc. one can easily recover within 4 years. There are many EV car owners who have driven more than a lakh of kilometres and they are ok with that. By the EV car is in the very nascent stage and to compare it with an ICE car which is in to existence for more than 100 years is absolutely nonsense.
Some videos I have seen about EV TYRE related Experience ....Show that EV cars can run 1 lac km with same TYRE and still good conditions and second If U compare with New SWIFT CNG or PUCH EV with WINDSOR EV in Milage related than SWIFT CNG 4 rs (+ service and other expenses) per KM when Windsor EV give Rs 5 + per KM... Not much different And prices of both cars nearly same ....If u have 2 lac more than why not ENJOY ....Wide ,Silent , Comfortable and Luxurious ....WINDSOR EV ...?
EVs have bad reputation because only the legendary TATA motors is making them right now. Once you have suzuki and hyundai in the mass market ev game, them automatically people would drop their hesitation
Those who are commenting blindly by saying EVs are the future can you justify how exactly?. Have you ever heard about battery waste which comes under hazardous disposable material, where we dispose all these dead batteries waste comes from vehicles. We are already not been able to tackling present e waste and battery waste which is generating from computers, laptops, mobile phones and other e-waste components. Ok just leave it we found the solution for segregation and disposal of e waste, but when manufacturing a Lithium battery we have to do huge mining to extraction of raw materials from Earth. Apart from that process of making batteries eventually takes huge water resources, and this isn't comes under pollution or wastage of natural resources. Ok pls leave that also, is lithium, nickel, cobalt like raw material are abundantly available on Earth???, after all we extract and exhaust all ltd availability of resources then what's next we go other planets for mining?. Self sustainability means it shouldn't harm effect in nature digging all resources from Earth and you calling it as green revolution is a biggest foolish statement. I'm not against adoption of EVs because I to own a EVs scooter and i know the benefits of that, but when it comes to reality EVs are just a alternate solution for present ICE vehicles. In future flex fuels(Ethanol blended petrol or complete ethanol/Bio fuels) Plug in Hybrids, or other technologies will come into effect then we are solely dont need to depend on other countries.

Agar uss baare mein baat kiya jaaye, toh ek average petrol engine, 1 liter petrol se 8.4 mega joules energy nikaal paata hain. Wahi ek power plant, 1 liter petrol se 18.5 mega joules nikaal pata hain. Dhua niklega, par ICE vehicles ke mukable mein, bohot kam niklega. Also, abhi toh bohot zyada electricity solar se ban raha hain aur dheere se wo increase bhi ho raha hain. Toh jo dhua nikal raha tha EVs ki wajah se, wo aur bhi kam hoga.

Lol EV SHIVEE is not for India. Too much hassle. They might make sense in 20 to 30 years when charging infrastructure would hopefully have improved and better vehicles hit the market.
