The cornering and handling on my 12 CRV is a hair raising experience. Taking bumps on curves at highway speed is downright scary. I have to do this. Was considering KYB but seems like the Bilsteins are firmer which is what I want.
No it is not, Per Bilstein for NON INVERTED MONOTUBE struts you use OEM bump stop and boot. ONLY the Inverted Monotube B6 and B8 are engineered with the internal bump stop. The Highlander Bilstein B6 is not engineered this way. I personally confirmed this with Thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America; as I was interested in this upgrade too, and if you watch the development of these shocks you can see in the video above these are CLEARLY not inverted monotubes. @@TOisONit

No not with this type of b6 strut this is not an upside down design. there are a lot of b6 struts that are tho. But with those that upper shaft is thicker (almost as thick as the yellow tube) and the bump stops are inside the yellow tube.
B6 struts are an inverted monotube so the bumpstop is integrated, B6 shocks are not so the bumpstop (struts are for macpherson style suspension while shocks are for double wishbone/multi link suspension

@fastreviews4your Would you recommend the B6 if you drive rough and harsh roads? I need new struts all around but most of the roads I drive are rough dirt roads. Seems most people like the B6 for better handling or a sportier ride.
The b6 sacrifice the small bump sensitivity in exchange for the sharper handling. The stock struts are kyb. They ride softer, but the body sways. Make sure you get the front strut hats when you do it.
@LordWilliams When u drive with bilstein b6 shocks and struts, did it feel like u have front struts and rear sway bar? And makes u feel like u don’t need a front strut bar and rear sway bar, all thanks to the b6 monotube shocks and struts?
What’s wrong with that? We have some highlander enthusiasts modifying like this. Why do u ask? Because with bilstein b6 monotube shocks and struts, it makes ur vehicles stable better, handle better, comfier yet firmer in a good way. I’m gonna do that too ok a lifted application for my lifted xB. Alresdy got the rav4 front struts b6 and rear Tacoma b6/4600.
Damn silly question. You'd want a wallowy Pig On Stilts....why? What you should be asking is why doesn't a manufacturer offer such an option? Answer...Because most folk don't care. Until they drive one.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE Any new shocks and struts will feel better . KYB is much easier on the wallet and performs better. ALL SHOCKS AND STRUTS WILL WEAR OUT NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT COST YOU 😂
@Kenard10 and anyone else who watched this video. Just to let you know internal bump stops are only on the INVERTED Bilstein struts. Bilstein struts for this car are NOT inverted monotube shocks with the internal bump stop. PER BILSTEIN: "For this product you are to transfer over the boot and bump stop from the original equipment." I am not trolling you but you are incorrect on this particular application. On the B6 and B8 Bilstein that feature INVERTED MONOTUBE engineering you would be correct. I would suggest checking Bilstein if you are in need of further information. The part number is Front Left 22-28873 Front Right 22-282880
