I got bitten on the knee by a false widow spider whilst coming out of a cellar when I was 8 years old. It hurt like a MoFo and left an open sore that wept for about a month. The owner of the cellar told me that there were no spider in the UK that bite. He was so wrong.

@@juliegarfield8205 did you see the spider biting? Because it is also know people blame a spider when they actually have not seen it and the wound is form another origin, like a cut on a sharp and the infection from the dirt of the object itself or the skin

As far as I understand these more serious side effects from spider bites are usually caused by a nasty bacteria getting into the bite wound rather than the venom itself.

We have a big female that is resident in our garage. It caught a queen wasp the other day... It was an epic battle which, quite frankly, I was staying well away from as I'm not sure I wanted either to win...but the spider appears to have prevailed.

They're really quite pretty. I keep tarantulas (I'm a sucker for their cute little faces) and when I found some false widows in my house I decided to set them up in captivity and see how they liked it. Both spiders quickly released they had a good deal, and have been happily living in the enclosures. I'm going to look after them through winter, and if they're still hale and sprightly when it warms I'll see about releasing them.

interesting, I have a project like that for the classic "house spider", setting up a little place with plants soil and hollow rocks as well, apparently if they find found, they will not move unless it is a male looking for a female. How have you been successful with your project?

If you're concerned about what spiders live in your home. Take a toilet roll tube and hide them under furniture and onto of cabinets. Spiders will use them as hides. You can inspect these to discover what spiders are in your home. They also help.prpvide a safe space for the spider so they don't wander often.

Watching because I was bitten by a noble false widow spider today. It somehow got trapped between my jumper and t-shirt, obviously felt trapped and bit me on my shoulder twice in a panic! It has given me a dead arm like the same symptoms that come from vaccination jabs but haven't had to go to hospital, just took an antihistamine and used some insect bite cream to relieve the aching pain.

The Steatoda Noblis has become one of the most invasive Spiders of recent years, in various countries. In the UK they were very uncommon about 5+ years ago but are more common in my Home than the other Native False Widows in the last few years (warmer climate being a factor)
@davebear9825
@davebear9825 Год назад
Regarding the Spider itself they are not aggressive and so bites (like Black Widows) are not intentional and should not be initially painful but pain can progress due to the Venom, however the Venom is NOT strong enough to cause most people any harm... however in some cases then infections occur which could be Bacteria related and not the Venom

It was actually quite cute watching it do its thing and chilling but just recently I think it wants to suck me dry so I gotta get rid of it. I'll update if it bites me and I need to amputate my head.

Better be safe than sorry and don't feel bad. They probably aren't that aggressive to humans, but children have soft skin and the spider comes through with its fangs more easily. If you can't sleep well because of a spider get rid of it the way you feel safe.

There are scientists that say that there can be harmfull bacteria on the fangs or bodies of this spider. So chances are the wound gets infected by the fangs of the spider and gets injected with the bite. Disenfecting a bite is probably a very good idea, but it's not set in stone that alone is enough to prevent a infection@@thememe986
