If you're buying anything -- anything at all -- thinking about it's "future value," then you're not a collector. You're a _speculator._ I know a gentleman with a baseball card collection worth a considerable, considerable amount. He doesn't care. In fact, he has written down the story of how he came to acquire those cards, when he got them signed, at which game/ stadium, and even has ticket stubs to go along with them. _That man is a collector._
One thing that bothers me is when a certain item is a Con exclusive it really spoils the hobby and the scalpers take advantage of it so often and there are people out there that will pay the stupid prices which only makes the scalpers worse
