I agree with a lot of your review. The image and ease of use is everything. 8 seconds baffles me that it’s such an issue. We are spoiled. To much of too good. I think you can assign a button to “photo” just for that can’t miss shot? Good review.
I have been researching for months what camera to get to go to the next level. I think the R5C is at the top of my list, especially since it finally is on sale for $400 off. Because I am a hybrid user, I would rather have one camera for both stills and video with the same lens's. As I watched the video, one thing that I thought I would comment on is the lack of IBIS. I feel this is such a "pro" level that they assume it will be on a rig, with a gimble, and they need it to compete with the other really expensive pro equipment. Apparently even when turned OFF IBIS introduces some rolling shutter and other issues. I can say first hand some of my earlier 4K cameras the rolling shutter was a major issue for me, so if taking IBIS out is the fix for that, I am happy they took it out. The lag when switching is for sure because its loading a different operating system, its like a dual boot computer. It's not just changing the menus but the actual firmware running so it has to load it up. A valid negative for sure if your trying to switch between them on the fly.
