im at the point where i feel like praying even more for health and having nas little play much more consistent minutes is going to be one of our best routes, not terrible from 3 and a decent defender, theres not much else we'll be able to upgrade from his contract amount, could also rebound and lob, and one of our only players taller than 6'4/6'5. Basically our best shot at a DJJ archetype player. I find it hard to believe that we took his contract in the DA trade knowing we were headed towards salary aggregation restrictions with no plans to make use of him either
Totally agree! Yea bc our org refuses or seems incapable of developing young players we have. At 23 yrs old Nas should be heavily developed this offseason to just stand in the corner & hit corner 3s. A much younger more athletic PJ Tucker
The Suns need a power forward that can play d and hit an occasional 3. Bring Allen off the bench. 6 ft 8 in power forwards that play good D dont grow on trees.
With them added it was a first round sweep while the previous year we went to 6 games in second round. We already have enough offense so replace Allen with a wing who can defend and knock down some shots. For Nurkic just replace him with someone who actually has respect for the game and doesn’t turn his back on opponents giving up wide open shots. Someone who is more focused on dunking the ball rather than flying to the ground looking for fouls. He dominated the ball too much despite him not being a threat which forced the others too waste so much energy just to loose defenders and receive the pass. If he was capable of shooting or driving in it would have forced defenders to him but whenever he has the ball it just means his teammates are working extra hard to get open from extra attention. That’s why the longer the game went they wore down and were unable to fight in fourth quarter to finish the game.
I witnessed Nurkic miss way too many easy birdies at the rim with little to no resistance. Practically wide open layups and those rebounds aren’t moving me bc he doesn’t get them in crucial clutch moments when the game is physical. He gets bullied sometimes.
Keep Nurkdog hes a beast had a career high 31 rebs with the suns and so is Grayson Allen with a career high Nine 3-pointers three times with the suns this year They both had their best career highs with the suns this year, you guys are nuts
I think go in on the Williams . Mark from Charlotte Ziaire from Memphis.I think this checks alot of the boxes you were talking about. Low end prospects for some of the limited flexibility that the Suns have.
Grayson Allen is a bench 3 point specialist who you gave starters minutes, Duncan Robinson West, he imbalances your team no matter how many shots he makes, either Beal sits or he sits its malpractice to start both, its dumb to have Beal and Booker on the same team, but do you Phx.
Depends on who they draft and or can get in free agency for the minimum. They would both be much better coming off the bench . Not really seeing us having the ability to make any roster moves outside of re-signing our current free agents that nobody wants . Maybe we actually use the draft for once and get a guy or guys that can make a real impact defensively and running the team. Missi or dunn would be great defensively. Kolek, carrington or ajay mitchell would be good at backup pointguard. The absolute wrong move would be trading the pick or wasting it gambling on bronny james. I'd also consider dayron holmes or Zac edy if either are their. I think they are both basketball junkies and high iq skill players that will get better.
Nurkic is not the suns issue, not great but OK, that sad he is not the man to bring the ball up or from the high post, he flat handles the ball to much. Allen is wasted starting , his skills aren't used well , he doesn't see the ball enough to be at his best.
On D - Nurk would look much better with better PERIMETER defenders and bigger, NOT overpowered PF (kd at this stage should guard sf's). On O - Nurk can facilitate and crash the boards, which SHOULD be his primary job (and he does it well) - he should never be relied upon for big scoring output next to our 'big 3'. Also, after decent last POR season in 3pt shooting, i thought they gave up on that too fast - maybe Budenholzer will try to get his confidence up again...
"individually he got worse but team somehow got better". Yeah - dude sacrificed his own stats and played ultimate TEAM game most of the season. Including keeping quiet when he took 4 shots or less per game (multiple occassions). So, instead of trading him, how about preaching that TEAM/WIN first mentality to OTHERS as well?
Starters Jusuf Nurkic Kevin Durant Grayson Allen Devin Booker Bradley Beal Bench James Wiseman Bol Bol Kelly Oubre Jr Emoni Bates Killian Hayes Draft Center Yves Missi from Baylor Sign Point Guard Aaron Holiday
I LOVE the Aaron Holiday signing. He played great in the limited mins Monty gave him. Don’t know how we’d get Oubre. He played really well for Philly last yr
How about Turkic was out there with three bad defensive guards, no point guard to feed him at all and expected to create, be the best defender and make low the percentage shots he was given mostly. And lastly Bud did not make Lopez a three point shooter, Kenny Atkinson did in Brooklyn.
he was weak and missed a lot of easy layups. As big as he is… he is a terrible finisher. And it isnt like he didnt have a lot of 1 on 1 against smaller players. Book, KD and Beal command a lot of attention. I am not being moved by those rebounds. He is inefficient for a center. Clint Capela is more physical than Nurkic.
It’s funny how everyone labeled DA as the problem yet Nurk is supposedly much better ( 31 rebounds) not the problem yet swept. We wanna blame coaching, point guard as excuses. Keep the same energy and say Nurk had no impact in the playoffs. I’ve said it from day one Nurk has no expectations or pressure to perform
@@alberth1150 We just should not have hired Igor Kokoškov if we were always going to draft Ayton. That’s what actually made zero sense That was piss poor management from our organization.
The Mavs are winning the championship because of all the lob threats they added this season, giving Luka tons of options on pick-and-rolls while freeing up three-point shooters with their pressure at the rim. This used to be a strength of the Suns with Ayton around, but we no longer have that. It’s insane that this aspect is completely ignored by the Suns media. Perhaps it is because bringing up the importance of a lob threat would force them to give credit to Ayton or whatever…
While obviously it would be great to have an athletic big who could finish and block shots, you aren’t getting a starting caliber one with the assets the Suns have, so it’s ultimately a moot point
