Everyone is different with different qualities and capabilities while embodied. Our only equality is that we are all spirit souls but even in that we have different relations with Krishna.
This is course true, every material body is different, every material brain is different. But devotees are supposed to be above, free from bodily identification, free form the bodily platform. So as soon a devotee is realized he/she is acting on the spiritual platform. Prabhupada: "Materially a woman may be less intelligent than a man, but spiritually there is no such distinction. Because spiritually everyone is pure soul. In the absolute plane there is no such gradation of higher and lower. If a woman can lecture nicely and to the point, we should hear her carefully. wait women are not less intelligent than men how can u even say that . its has no were proven there are many women scholars although education for women started late in india . Pls dont discrimate in intelligence based on gender.
(Managed by Disciples) In the quote above you did not put the sentence after the last one which Srila Prabhupada wrote; "But if a man can speak better than a woman, the man should be given first preference. " This shows that there was and is a distinction which Srila Prabhupada did accept and teach taught us likewise.
@@BhaktiVikasaSwami This is the case when the woman is not spiritually situated. Then the man who can speak better should be given preference. Of course, what we have seen so far is that many sannyasis and even gurus who fell down never really were transcendentally situated.

Does he work hard at misunderstanding the question? Comparing a 3 month member to a guru is not what anyone is asking... Is there equal opportunity for advancement? How many female gurus, temple presidents, or GBC are there? If we are not this body - then the body should not be a determining factor. He is being purposely obtuse.

Then Maharaja said, "What do you mean by equal" and one devotee from the audience said, "do they get equal opportunities?" and Maharaja said, "Equal opportunity for what?" And then he said that there aren't any equal opportunity for all because a 3 month old member won't get the opportunity to give lectures like Maharaja. And then Maharaja started answering the main question which was "Are men and women equal in ISKCON"? It is your perception that the question is, "if there is equal opportunity for advancement for both males and females in ISKCON?" And there is no need to answer this question because it's obvious that everyone has got the same opportunity for advancement in Krishna consciousness, no matter whether they are males or females. But becoming a GBC, temple president, or female guru is not a criteria for advancement in Krishna consciousness. A simple woman following her stri dharma very nicely, serving her husband and kids with full dedication and following all the rules and regulations of bhakti is to be considered more advanced than a guru, GBC member or a temple president (males or females) who is not following the teachings of Srila Prabhupada as it is or not strictly following the rules and regulations of bhakti. So just having a good position in ISKCON is not a criteria for advancement. We all know that we are not this body. But as long as we are in the bodies of males and females, we have to accept the roles and responsibilities associated with them. There are specific roles and responsibilities for both males and females and if they work according to that, then there will be peace in the society. And if they don't then forget about peace, there will be chaos everywhere, as we are already witnessing in the society. Hence we should understand that men and women are not equal. But if they follow the responsibilities associated with their gender as per scriptures, then everything will go smooth and everyone will make equal advancement in Krishna consciousness. So please don't think that Maharaja has misunderstood the question. He understood it very well, and gave an apt answer.
