Hey Jake, Your videos opened my eyes and gave me a reality check that I needed bad. I am just the average kid who watched the cool recruitment videos from the ranger batt and got my head big from watching videos on social media and thought that I can do anything I want with no background or nothing that would set me up for success for the ranger life .Luckily I saw your videos and finally came back down to reality and realize that I don't posses the level of grit to go tackle that animals right now . My plan is to join the army and go infantry to see how it is to be a soldier, see if I enjoy it then make another decision from there. good work with the videos they are hidden gems. Keep going strong!👊

I applaud anyone willing to set the goal of being a Navy SeAL. Reality is, not everyone is cut out to do it. If you aren't cut out to do it, or you didn't prepare, then it's not for you. It's not the end of the world!!!! Not everyone can be an astronaut, or a brain surgeon, or whatever!!! Find what you do well, and do it the best you possibly can, be professional and be ethical. Do that, and I don't care if you're flippin burgers and slangin french fries....if you do it the best, are professional and ethical....you will have positive results.

“They’re being mean to these candidates that are just chasing their dreams!” That’s the point, for 80-90% of those who try out a dream is all that it was… especially the kids that spent most of their childhood on a computer or video game, work out an hour a day 4-5 days a week and then expect to be able to make it through SOF selection….. ugh….. no bud, if you aren’t training like a pro fighter/NCAA wrestler/Athlete the likely hood of making it is extremely low…. Your prep should look like a job, 8-10 hours a day between various workouts, food prep, eating, recovery, etc….

When you get time look up Marlin HS near Waco Tx. They had to postpone graduation because like 5 of the 33 seniors met requirements.

I spent 9 years in combat ( between military & contracting ) been including 54 mo in Iraq ( Fallajuh , Ramadi , AQ , Hit , all the fun spots , then after a couple years I went to Afghanistan until a RPG almost ended me outside of Bagram ) . I did a lot of shit with Seals when they took over cop Fallujah after the base closed . At the time I was in Iraq I saw everything from guys being stopped lost , to in 06 when they couldn’t get folks - guys that should have even been in ( I actually saw fat Marines ) & I thought that was bad , then when I went to Afghanistan it was a goat rodeo with the Army ( 12-14 ) . I don’t know much about being a Seal ( I was EOD) but I can tell you if you don’t have your shit together in combat people get fucked up . I saw too many guys get fucked up because they didn’t have their shit together & that’s one thing , but to get someone else fucked up because you don’t have your shit together is unacceptable. Outside the wire work ( jobs , rates ) ain’t for everyone. You can’t have a bad day outside the wire cause if you do someone else gets fucked . Honestly I feel like I’m one of the most mentally tough people I know & my friends are some of the hardest you’ll ever meet , but even I am fucked up now ( TBI , PTS, bad back , don’t sleep , pain everywhere) . I wouldn’t change shit I did or that happened to me except for maybe the RPG , but again what I’m saying is if you don’t have your shit wired tight in a time of war don’t do it you will be a liability. I fear for these guys now because it seems like from what I’m seeing is way too much time spent on shit that doesn’t matter and not enough time on training . All these woke , gender equity , and all of that other shit is making us weak . Combat isn’t for people that don’t know what bathroom to use ( hell I spent months shitting in wag bags with no shower . It’s only for guys and a few women who are tough and willing to sacrifice for the guy or girl next to them . If your a me person it’s not for you . If you’re a participant person it ain’t for you . The 2 words that you need to know to be an efficient, effective combat troop are sacrifice & toughness. If you don’t have 150 percent commitment then do everyone a favor and stay out .

If you need steroids to pass SOF training, then it ain’t for you. I don’t care if guys that are in SOF currently use PED’s. Their job demands the highest level of performance, but it SHOULD be done under professional medical guidance. Giving the guys who have proved themselves a method to drastically increase performance doesn’t bother me, but if you’re in a selection process, you need to be judged on innate performance under the worst circumstances. The real issue is people not taking accountability for their own choices and the consequences of those choices. I feel for this kids mother, but it wasn’t on anyone but her sons own bad choices. Whining about a selection process that is meant to be harder than anything else you’ve ever experienced isn’t the problem.

Lt keep up the brutal, blunt truth. I served in the navy from 2002-2006 and was medically retired due to a traumatic brain injury. And you're right about everything you're telling these new recruits what to do. Everyone is born with 2 ears, 2 eyes, n 1 mouth. So everyone should be listening twice as much and keeping there mouth shut when people ask for your help to joining the military.

Former College football player who had probably been juicing since high school thought he could keep doing large doses while physically exerting himself further than he ever had before in his life. Negligence by the medical staff and lack of a vocal and true leader among the recruits resulted in his death.

I was trained in phlebotomy and I am far from an expert in the field but the urine could be explained if his kidneys had shut down and weren't producing urine and the blood may have coagulated and it may not have been able to be tested. Like I said, I'm not an expert and these are speculations on that. When I was a paramedic and we had to draw on deceased DUI suspects there were times where we received orders to draw directly from the heart in the hopes that it would have some usable blood. So maybe the blood was in a condition to not be viable or costly to rule out PED's. The way I look at that, I'm glad it wasn't taken because the US government will always try to find a way to screw service members and their families. Look no further then the VA. There are so many factors with his medical that could have come into play to contribute to his death. I served in the US Army from Jan. 91 to Sept 96 and we knew then that PED's (not what they were called back then) were being used by certain groups of people to increase their performance. If he was using those it could have had an impact on his condition. But whether he used or not, it doesn't change the fact that the medical team and command failed this guy by taking shortcuts with his medical care.

I recall reading an article about a former BUD/S student who was dropped from the program and subsequently committed suicide by throwing himself into spinning tail rotor blades of an H-60 helicopter.

This social media generation by and large just doesn't have "it"! Times have been way too good and you have young men who cannot even go to a regular gym to lift a few weights without pumping some compound into themselves let alone something as brutal as a SOF pipeline. Not shocked in the slightest they would be doing their best to dope etc. smh!

So, this is just my two cents. I was never SOF, I was just a conventional FMF Corpsman. Gate keeping, it's a real thing and needed. Every course, every single one, has bumper rails. I don't care if it's BUD/S, A & S, TBS, ITB, Ranger School, or even basic. It is the minimum. When you go down range or your training to, there is no RSO with a sleep table on a clip board. Any younge person on here wanted to go, I don't care for what, needs to understand the training is not the crucible. It gets you an audition on the ground floor of a career of physical suffering. Training is the beginning. Big navy will push through people who hit training wickets. At the end of the day, if the dudes are unprepared they die. They don't care, the only one who cares is the instructor. It may not seem that way, but I have been on that side and it is. Instructors save lives when it actually counts. I see the medical piece keep coming up, I get it. Navy Medicine assigns assests like a naive child. Your docs at BUD/s need to be pipe hitters. They need the tactical and technical confidence, operational maturity, and confidence to make these calls. I dont think that's whose winding up there in medical.

mothers, underachievers, and politicians should be the LAST people consulted on whatever the fk goes on in the seal teams and military in general.

Buds is challenging but recognize the what you are asking of yourself and others aroud you plus the instructors. They want to know that if you get hurt are you going to continue or call it quits. He not only put himself at risk but the program at large. Life is a sacrifice and one must learn to know when you're hurt and or injured because there is a difference between the two. He knew, and this is what's called a Domino affect.

Went to the Navy to talk to them about joining swcc and maybe go seals later on... I was fat by military standard but little less than chubby civilian standard... The recruiter literally told me try going seal, you could do it...... I literally walked out went across the hall and talked to army, that recruiter told me to lose weight and helped me do it. I eventually went 11B with plans on going ranger.... Literally when I left basic I deployed less that 5 months later... I was immature and blown up 2 times... Got out. My biggest regret was never going ranger.

Questions- are the corpsmen attached to BUD/S also SEALs? It seems like it would be smart to require the entire medical staff (especially the officers) at the school to have at least gone through the training.

Standards are set high for a reason. I swam my whole life. These guys doing PEDs are only jeopardizing the career of themselves and the culture of BUDS. I think also maybe a special doctor's office should be on sight maybe a tent to give a breathing related test. I swam so much I had developed pneumonia that I couldn't swim for two weeks. Simple treatment; one blows, into a device that measures lung capacity whenever it goes back to normal back in the water. I had to take some pills, spit some lugies and blow three times a day. It doesn't stop you from being active because I still played basketball with it so if he had to run and participate in any other activities he could have. Now that I think about it he would have gotten rolled because the dive phase is next after hell week. Silent night in mid May.

But, there's more ominous 'legislation?' fast approaching..first and foremost this: The social credit initiative is a combination of government, business and individuals that 'give' citizens a score so one can be tracked and evaluated for trustworthiness. China already has this 'Big Brother' system in place..and, according to sources, this so-called initiative wll start with big banks using it followed by banks accepting only digital currency as the new coin of the realm ..
