The new 2021 BMW M4 isn't something I love, but maybe with some customization we can make it look at least acceptable?? Is it the fastest car? Should it be called the 2021 BMW M3? Did BMW ruin the M4?

I actually like the M3 as the whole body has sharp lines which kind of fits with the grille, but on the M4 it has a round body and then just boom a very angular and weird front.

@@0xESK1MO well it is, but the 4 series looks a lot different from the 3 now compared to f82 m4 and f80 M3. And I think the ugliest of them all is the normal 4 series as it has the grille in Chrome

Yeah the M3 is much better. This feels boring but that is kinda cool. I'm still not a fan of the grille. It's best in black because it hides it somewhat

Just a reminder that the front grille still has a massive horizontal beam stretching across it, so it's not even bigger for airflow.

Theo - to answer the main question, over the last decade and a half, BMW has been changing their lineup to accommodate the even-starting models as “coupes.” e.g., 1, 3, 5, 7 series are all sedans, 2, 4, 6 and 8 series are all coupes. Although it doesn’t make much sense anymore when they make four-door versions of said coupes.

To be honest, I kinda like the new M4's looks. The non M and M Sport looks meh due to the chrome highlight grille. The yellow and green make them pop. At first didn't like the new look, but it kinda grew on me.

My favorite is the E92 M3, but the dream would be the E90 M3 in Interlagos Blue with an E92 tailight swap.

I prefer F80 M3’s. Has the perfect balance between looks and equipment. Plus they’re heavily modifiable.

Series 4 in BMW's lineup is an direct answer to Audi's A5. Audi A4's are a sedan version of the car and A5 are just coupe. Same with BMW where Series 3 is a sedan and Series 4 is a coupe.

I like the BMW i8 to the extent beyond by own imagination, especially given that I don't quite like both BMW and plug-in hybrid cars at first hand. But I guess the design and flow she gives me catches my soul.

@@Ren_1106 Even if BMW just tuned the 4 cylinder to some decent power, it would be much better(still prefer a German delicately tuned v8 or v8tt). The i series depends on the electric part too much, due to its "eco" purpose, which ruin the performance of normal engine. I still like its look tho, especially front and side.

to your comment about the chassis types of BMW - the 1, 3, and 5 were always classic sedans, meanwhile the 2, 4 and 6 were coupés. for example take a look at the X-lineup with the X3M being the sporty six cylinder SUV meanwhile the X4M is literally the same car except it has the coupéish design. same with the sedans and M3/M4 series.

I love my f30 328i and owned e36 and e92. For a daily it is just perfect and still has the dynamics of the previous cars. It doesn’t have that analog feeling but it’s a trade off for everything else. But I also plan to get m2 for a weekend fun car

The germans fell out of love with the cars, especially BMW. The M5 CS only exists to chase lap times and that shitty 0-60 number. Aaaaand then the Plaid beats it in both aspects. So if performance isn't the best, the experience should be, but because BMW chases lap times, that ruined the experience. Sadly it's not just BMW, it's the whole industry, maybe except the Miata and the Toyobaru

My most favorite is the BMW M3 e46 GTR Street version my 2nd favorite would have to be the BMW M3/M3 GTS e92. I like the normal M3 e46 but for me the V8 just takes the cake

@BlackPanthaa I don't agree with you, and I will argue why, E90 M3 V8 S65, S63 BMW engines has terrible reliability rod bearings and blow up really quickly i'm saw how much racers replace that engine in race. I'm glad they still doing Inline 6 it's much more reliable, less fuel consumtion, lighter, faster. BMW inline 6 it's a tradition for 3 series and 4 series cars, so i hope they never change that tradition. BMW E39 last reliable V8

The numbers at BMW indicate the class not the size, the 4 series is a higher class of vehicle cause it’s classified as a sports car, the 3 series is classified as a sedan

@@dybixs1400 again, tell the engineers that. The people that studied how to make cars for decades, and literally get paid to make these things work without flaws. Could the car work with a smaller grill? Probably, but it's always better to have something important (like cooling) be oversized, so the car doesn't overheat and fuck up the engine

BMW made that grille because Chinese buyers see a large grille as a status symbol. Aston Martin on the other hand have promised they will never make a large grille, lol.

2 doors has never been better in any case. Aesthetics are better, making a car more beautiful and even then it depends on a person. But 4 doors is more practical and most of the time more comfortable for passengers to sit

If you, in most cases drive in the car on your own having 2 doors is so much nicer. You get a way bigger entrance so you can seat way more comfortably instead of wrapping yourself around the B-pillar. If you carry people of then yea its not a good idea. Apart from when you have a family, a lot of car the cars on the road you go past have just one or 2 persons in them.

5:14 Even numbers in the BMW Series have always represented the coupe version of the Odd numbered saloon/hatchback variant For example the 2 series is the coupe version of the 1 series, 4 series of the 3, 6 of the 5 and so on!

Anything at the forefront of an industry is going to get heavy criticism. Especially when we're talking about aesthetics. It's new, it's different, and in this case with the M4 it's pretty damn bold. But it's one of the many ways humanity is just sorta figuring shit out as we go along. That's all life is, man. 🤣

I have to disagree with Theo because the G80 M3 is a not bad looking car if you compare it to the G82 M4. My favorite BMW M cars based on looks are: E46 M3, E36 M3, E39 M5, E60 M5, F80 M3/F82 M4, G80 M3, E90/E92/E93 M3. I’m sorry, the E9X is good looking but looks way too fat for me…

The problem is BMW has sort of fallen off since about 2012. The only decent modern M car is the M2 and they're probably about to ruin that. Imo M3s should be NA straight 6 coupes. They did that well post 2006.
