It took me one month to get nuclear missiles (it was a 1 hour in game = 1 hour IRL) TOTALLY worth it. Was playing as USA and no one was going to attack me cause i posted an article stating i had 30 nuclear ICBS. Russia called my bluff. BIG MISTAKE. took one week to conquer him!!!
I rarely use nuclear weapons and missile's but i build a lot of theater defend system and when I do meet a player who use nuclear bombs i started researching and upgrading underground bunker to destroy buildings and moral
Best warhead uses: - Conventional is used for Armor, Naval, and Aircraft that are on land - Chemical is used for soft targets (recommended if the ememy’s defense is higher than yours) - As Nuclear is used for Buildings and Population, it’s is useful to destroy Enemy Units that have a high stack Missile Worth: Ballistic is good if you’re starting in Europe as you may have 27 countries. Cruise is always worth it ICBMs aren’t worth it unless you like to spend your resources Edit 1: added missile worth and changed Warhead best uses
@@kiper4k85 check this time stamp 6:19 and pause it + Use Conventional and Chemical Warheads, you need it for your units to have higher attack than Enemy’s Defense
In the missile description in the tech tree, it will tell you what platforms you can launch missiles from. This is after you have made warheads in secret weapons labs.
(Google translator) The creators of CoN are breaking the game more and more, so I play less. after last year's update which took away one city with components. Instead of adding one city, they deleted it, so there are even fewer units in the game and it should be the other way around. The beginning was boring and now it has become even slower and forces players to play for money. 1. the development of the country at the beginning of the game is even slower 2. the number of units, which was small, is even smaller 3. The game forces players to use money more often The fourth update broke what man was used to. 4. make changes that cause bugs - why change something that is good, especially if it can't be improved :P 5. map 2050 for 100 players is graphically underdeveloped, and above all strategically in terms of sea logistics - the roads on which ships move are often hopeless labyrinths that prevent a normal naval battle. Not only that, the map does not even show where the shallows are and where the sea is full. This map, despite an interesting idea, sucks :P and there are a lot of golden players :P 6. the amount of points to get 1850 is so small that the player ends the game before he can develop it properly - COMPLETELY NO SENSE 7. Zoom out of the map should be larger. Later in the game it's very annoying, in Call of War they did it much better. 8. It would be nice if each country was different and had extra bonuses 9. they should eliminate this child icon (advisers who say nothing specific, only disturb and annoy) This strategy has its splendor years behind it and unfortunately it is slowly moving towards call of war :P (supposedly maybe because a year earlier some employees were delegated from call of war to CoN and here we have a weak effect ... :P ) I'm going to play this winter anyway, but I've stopped taking the game seriously. :)
You need research the minimum level cruise missile or ballistic missile. To launch ballistic missiles, you either need missile submarines, elite bombers, or ballistic missile launchers. To launch ballistic cruise missiles, there are a lot of platforms that fire those.
@@MistikFistik-m1g Under the missiles mobilize tab (the same tab that you made your warheads) are the missile launchers. One way to use your warheads is to launch missiles from these platforms. Once you have a missile launcher mobilized, you can press the missile icon to select a target to attack.
Nuclear weapons are worth it but I rather use them through Ballistic missiles against a massive stack instead of ICBM. Chemical weapons are equally just as good if you want to disable cities. Morale will eventually make it harder late game if you use them indiscriminately.
I once was in an alliance of two absolute chads. They were my neighbors and I was completely defended, so while they were waging war I managed to build up nukes within 16 days. We dominated everyone.
I agree with you that ICBMs are just fun thing in CoN. The only really valuable ones are conventional cruise and ballistic missiles and nuclear cruise missiles imo bc with conventional ballistics you can easily support your blitzkrieg by disabling enemy cities, units within those cities and airports and airfields and the fact that they can be carried by subs that can fire more than one at a time and can also carry some cruise missiles is great. Nuclear cruise missiles are my love, they have the bang for the buck in later game if you manage to conduct SEAD and/or DEAD ops, bc you dont need as many of them as with conventinals and can be carried by basically anything..
I agree about conventional cruise and nuclear ballistic missiles. I just want to ask something, would chemical cruise missiles be good to use against other units? There are quite alot of light units which are also useful, but chemical weapons damage your units too
I am planning on making a missile defense video in the future at some point, but my quick advice would be to have enough SAMs and theater defence in the cities you care about so that the defence plus the attack combined are enough to do 40 damage to missiles. This will protect you from all ICBMs and below, most likely.
@@cresildabantayan2875 Quite a variety of units can. Once you research cruise missiles, many types of ships, aircraft and the cruise missile launcher can fire those. Ballistic missile submarines, ballistic missile launchers and the elite bomber can launch ballistic missiles. Only the ICBM launcher can launch ICBMs. When you research a new type of missile, it unlocks the ground-based launcher for that specific type of missile.
For me, one of the downsides of CON is the chemical/nuclear option. Researching, buying, and launching these missiles does not require any skill. For me the real appeal is to use strategy and tactics to outmanouver an opponent. Nukes are a blunt instrument the most inexperienced player can use, all they need is the time & resources.
Well an experienced player should know they have to take offensive action and research anti missile defensive weapons as soon as you see someone researching it through the news. I've dealt with enemies who had nukes yet never had the opportunity to destroy me because I am a very nuanced player. I read newspaper daily and prepare counter ASAP from day one.
They’re a strategic weapon and take great skill to use effectively. It may not be your preferred game style, but that doesn’t mean it’s inferior. When you get one, it’s announced in the newspaper. And when you use one, it’s intimidating. I nearly lost a strong coalition partner after he got nuked. He got terrified and made peace with a common enemy instantly. The whole point of the game is that factors like this, including diplomacy, are part of the battle space - just like real life. There are other games out there that are more tactically based. If you like that, cool. There’s no need to denigrate how others play. If it works, it works.
ICBM launchers are researched in the missiles tab. After researching all warhead types, when you research the ICBM, it upgrades both your ICBM launcher and your missile.
Max level ICBMs have an HP of 40, max level theaters have a defense and attack of 16. 2 will destroy an ICBM if they get an attack and defending hit on it, but if it does not attack (very common), or if a smart player uses splash damage to hit you without triggering defense, you're hosed. 3 is the safe bet, but if you have a lot of cities close to each other, the overlapping missile defense means you don't need as many.
@@duke9877 That is tricky. Basically, you would hope that the first one sets off the AA so that when your 2nd one lands it is during the reload period. This is quite hard to intentionally do, and don't expect to do it accidentally. If your enemy has too good of theater defense, it's not really worth trying to nuke them most of the time.
@@musicalleds1205yea because my morale was very high then I nuked all of japans city’s three times and next thing I know my city and smoking and rouge state tryna conquered them
All missiles have corresponding missile launchers that you can build once you research a specific missile type. Ballistic missiles can also be launched from missile subs and the elite bomber. A lot of units can launch cruise missiles, from jets, to cruisers, to the ground launcher.
If the attack and defense is high enough to take out all of the hp of that missile, yes. Having a level 1 theatre defense will not take our a max level icmb, for example.
