Most DA's in CA will downgrade a home invasion to a basic breaking and enerting unless the victim is egregiously injured, and the DA gets to define egregious injury on a case by case basis. The DA's do this and Newsome allows this because they care more about their statistics than our safety. The Los Angeles DA, in 2022 or 2023, decided victims of violent crimes and their attorneys were to no longer be notified of their assailants parole hearings leaving them vulnerable. A friend of mine lived in LA county, was attacked in her home by a neighbor (who was an illegal obssessed with her daughter) with a knife and wasnt notified of his parole hearing 5 months later. He showed up at her new home in a different county, the police said he had no restrictions to stay away from her so they couldnt help her and the court refused a restraining order. She legally bought a gun under federal laws, but CA denied her buying the ammo. Her attorney said the state saw her as a danger to him so a bunch of us visited over a week, packed what we could in our SUV's and vans in her garage to load a moving truck at my house so he didn't see it and we moved them out of state. She lives in fear every day.

Most of us know not to replaces items after you are burgled. Criminals wait after the first break in until they think you’ve collected insurance and replaced items. Then they hit you again. I agree 100%.... don't come to our states with your liberal political views thinking you can use your "celebrity status" to change our policy. We have a lot of people coming to my state of GA, despite the corruption in Fulton County. I live in a very small town about an hour outside of Fulton County and the differences are like night and day.
