Both.are good but a TV cant match a 130, 200 projection screen. Its like a theater in your home.

I have a Viewsonic 4K 3000 lumens, I have it at 120 inch. it looks crazy. it will go over 200 inch if you have big room.

Projector are easier on your eyes. Starring into a flash light vs reflected light makes a big difference on eye strain from these brighter big screen tvs.

Ive been in the projector space for 15 years. Nothing beats the flexibility of a projector that only limits its image size by physical limitations of the room. Also the larger the TV, the more you pay for the upfront cost and the longterm energy costs. Avg 85in TV uses 350Watts versus 140Watts for potentially a 200inch screen or more from a Laser projector. Fixed energy costs for the projector. And now with laser projectors having a 25-30K hour capacity, you will want to buy a new one in a DECADE before it acturally wears out. Projector Hands down.

That's some great insight on this topic as well... Power consumption and HEAT! I remember when I got my first plasma TV. It was a 50" and it literally raised my electric bill via power consumption and running the AC in my apartment to keep the livingroom cool. Lol!

Nothing beats watching in the dark when it comes to projector it feels your in cinematic experience. The projector is king when it comes to watching movies AMC theaters are NOT going to replace their projector with TV or IMAX theaters.

I think these larger 100" and up TVs will eat into the projector industry a bit, especially USTs, but not eliminate it completely. You'll still have your enthusiasts that will get projectors no matter what. But like you said, its all about portability and that is where I think projector makers need to focus more on. Offer great image and ease of portability (small, lightweight, plug and play with auto keystone and auto focus) on all projectors (including USTs) at lower or competitive prices to TVs. They will then stay around for good.

Hey Bud. I’m enjoying my Hisense Cube C1. The colors are popping on a 100” matte white motor pull down screen. I must say even with the lights on, the laser brightness is incredible. Also no laser speckle on the screen i’m using.

Awesome! Yeah, you'll probably never see laser speckle on a matte white screen. It's the fancy ALR screens that produce it unfortunately.

Now that you've been using the C1 for awhile, how has it performed in ambient lighting. Was this video filmed primarily with the C1's projected image. The reviews have it as a spectacular performer in the dark; more of a home theater projector. What is your experience?

I just recently upgrade my Viewsonic PX 701 4K HDR projector with Elite Manual pulldown 135 inches projection screen , whaoo now I feel inmerse , but ---but-- I willing to sacrifice few inches screen size if this new 4k tv of 120 inches lower the price , let said to 3,000 to 3,800 dollars 😁

00:02 TVs are becoming more affordable for large screens 01:43 Projectors offer cost-effective large screen solutions 03:21 Projectors could replace TVs for those who want massive screens in well-lit environments. 04:48 Projectors are not going away 06:22 Projectors provide portability and flexibility not found in regular TVs. 07:49 Projectors offer portability and reduce eye strain 09:14 Projectors have less glare and better viewing angles than TVs. 10:41 Projectors are still a viable option compared to TVs

One thing that isn't mentioned in the tv/projectors debates. .. Portability. Try moving a 100" tv. It's a job. The lease is up and you're moving. If you have a UST all you have to do is take down the screen, and put the projector in the trunk of your car. If I ever wind up in an apartment that's the way I'm rolling😊
@dman7668
@dman7668 4 месяца назад
I agree that there absolutely is a convenience factor here. Not to mention if you buy a portable projector screen which is cheap you can pretty much take that screen even to a friend's house and have a fun party on a 100in screen. Fun for a family gathering also. So there is something to be said here about tbe advantages. And not to mention when I am ready to upgrade getting rid of a 100in TV vs a projector is another win out for projectors

Nobody with a projector will tell you they are becoming obsolete and they have a ton of info to back them up. Then i play an hdr scene on my tv and they're like.......whatever!

If you go 120 to 150 inch they are worth it Tcl and hisense have 100" tvs around 1600 to 2400 now which I a better then a projector But you can't get a 110" tv for less then 15k not worth it

This is just one of those topics to give people something to talk about. Projectors aren't going anywhere. Totally different experience than a TV. Both have their own use cases. Projectors MIGHT be in trouble if those rumored thin foldable MicroLED screens ever show up. But that would be at LEAST a couple of decades away from ever being affordable. Even then the unique qualities of a projector can't be replaced by other tech, even if it's not the BEST.
@NewStuffTV1
@NewStuffTV1 5 месяцев назад
Yeah... the topic kept coming up in my feed so I figured why not discuss it. Projectors aren't going anywhere. In fact, because of the versatile nature of them, I'm pretty sure they'll be around damn near forever. I'm just glad we're getting great quality and more features at reasonable prices now.

Projectors certainly still play a role, but interest in them has basically dropped off to next to nothing with the general public today. 99.8% of all customers that walk into an electronics store today have no interest at all in projectors. And, only a fraction of those have an interest in ultra-short-throw projectors. The projector market is still alive, for sure, but only on the VERY high-end of the market.
@FSK6995
@FSK6995 5 месяцев назад
Downside of a Projectors, shorter life, it will only last if you just used for movie 2 or 3 times a week, the rest just use you regular tv.
@NewStuffTV1
@NewStuffTV1 5 месяцев назад
Some would consider it a downside, but with the lifespan of these new LED and laser projectors, you'll probably end up upgrading to a new one before it dies. During that same amount of time, I think a lot of people would have purchased two tv's. I'm still amazed at how many people I see walking out of store with tvs on black Friday. Lol!
@kriswingert1662
@kriswingert1662 5 месяцев назад
VERY incorrect. LCD tv backlights fail on the new LED tech in 2-5 years depending on the brand. Projector bulbs last up to 8500 hours and have no glass screen to crack. Laser/ALPD projectors have a full life of 20k-30k hours before half brightness and can be scaled for picture size easily. I have owned a Mitsubishi WD-82838 82" dlp projection tv for the past 10 years and only put 2 bulbs in it @ $90/each. I service this tech and see a huge difference in the disposable LCD tech vs projectors that last way longer than them. I have worked with projection tech all the way up to 60ft led video walls and have extensive training in this area. So, your argument of projectors probably comes from inexperience in use. I am a videographor, electronics tech and pro A/V installer of over 30 years and my experience definately eclipses yours.
