@@MarcoSilva-sm7yl Plus the older generation really knows their instrument. They know musical dynamics, resonance, riffs, runs, staccato, legato, glissando, crescendo, decrescendo etc. All those stuff and so much more!
There's a reason why Whitney Houston "The Voice", Mariah Carey "The Songbird Supreme" and Celine Dion "The Queen of power Ballads" are called The Vocal Trinity and it's easily seen here. The quality of their singing is astounding, their voices are so emotional, they give you chills still with songs you've beeen hearing for 3 decades now, sorry but newbies can only hope to be close because they will never reach.
@@ceegarcia3399 I disagree So u saying Barbara is better voice then late Whitney Houston are u crazy forget what people say Beat singers in the world was late nusrat fateh Ali khan u couldn't come near the ocean sorry not even in they dreams
Yes Barbra ( yes you misspelled her name) has always had a far superior voice than Whitney. She has a catalog of songs that rival all others. No one comes close. She has over eighty multi-platinum, platinum, and gold records and has received more accolades than any singer. In fact, Whitney even attended Barbra’s concert in the eighties. All of the attendees were the biggest stars and the heavy hitters in Hollywood at the time. Streisand also beats whoever you just mentioned.
@@ceegarcia3399 please are u crazy Barbara couldn't come near late Whitney even on Whitney worse days Mariah Carey blow her away mc in 1990s no singer was able to come near her again il say it
Streisand is the greatest singer of all time, period !!! Whitney and Mariah aren’t even worthy to mentioned in her company. They can’t even hold a proper note with vibrato without the assistance of digital recordings and auto-tune!! Lol !! Barbra commanded the most money per ticket and her tickets would go for thousands each. Whitney couldn’t even carry a note in her forties as her voice was way gone by then as well as Mariah’s voice. They aged like milk !! Lol
Older Generation will always be Superior for the simple fact that Most of them had to Grow up learning how to sing using Analog Equipment. Therefore , they had to learn how to Modulate, Control Dynamics, Tone etc.... Especially MiC techniques, before the 2000s it really was a separate instrument that needed an experienced user to Unleash its(The microphone's) full potential.
"better" can be measured - talent / skills. But not everyone has that extra magic sprinkle / sauce in their tone. That separates a singer (regardless of their generation) from the rest. It's just a coincidence that a lot of the older singers had / have that special sprinkle.
Most modern singers cannot compare to the older generation. Excluding Sohyang and Morissette. But that could be because they aren't from the Western culture. Although i think whomever made this video might have been a bit biased towards the older generation. To truly compare, you also need the same song. I also like comparing videos too.
Older just way better Quality of singing ❤❤ There're actually a few singers from the new generation who won on this video. That Monica Naranjo Belt was🔥🔥
7:35 I had to replay your voice crack a few times...it was nice. It was a good reaction and I like watching your videos. I thought I was subscribed but I was not. So sorry about that - I fixed it. By the way, I do agree with you regarding the A5/B5 area. I do enjoy myself some high notes but that area can be a tricky one for some artists to navigate and still sound decent.
New Generation are all mediocre singers with mediocre fans... Old Generation Singers are the BEST, especially like BARBRA, ARETHA & the Vocal Trinity' Whitney, Mariah & Celine...
Technique wise, emotion wise and overall aspect, the older generation wins. During their time, there's no RU-vid, no auto tune; more effort for them to really make their craft shine than the new generation who have almost everything in terms of technology and many more. Thank you
