It takes years before you will see any benefit of solar due to the cost and the majority of people will end up having to finance them making them cost even more, there are many horror stories about solar panels and how people ended spending twice as much for electricity than they were spending before they got solar and that was before adding the payment for the loan to the monthly electric bill.

What??? Forbes says the average house saves $1600 a year going solar. How much power are these people using? I spend less than $1600 a year on my power usage...and yes I do use my AC in summer.

i dont understand why solar panels would increase the value of a home? should be "recoup the money that paid for the panels"

Depends on the state - some specifically do not do this if the improvement is an energy efficiency item, like solar panels. @@msujonbd

Last thing is your sealing todays prices when you go solar. So if you think electric will go up, seal the deal and lock in todays power rates. I am not a salesman, I just did a lot of research. And was offered solar salesman jobs lol.

Not worth it my 1000 sq ft house after rebates and credits was going to cost me $67000 to get 94 % off the grid and i was losing part of my yard

With panels being cheaper and government ineptitude increasing the costs of energy, I've thought it was likely best to buy the panels. I'm sure these leasing programs benefit the solar company as much as possible.
