Some items can't be washed as often. SO if you have those garments (that's been lightly worn) that you want to re-wear but not fully wash, steam option is it
I recently purchased an Electrolux washer and dryer. The washer has "steam option" as well as the dryer. I use the dryer steam as I travel often and clothes I do not wear on my trip, I throw in the dryer with steam and the steam removes the wrinkles from being in my luggage. They look like new after being steamed. I recommend the "steam option" for the dryer. Steam option on the washer----not so much.

I bought Samsung Bespoke Ai I got 2 white shirts poured 1 full coffee on each shirt, left both shirts for 27 hours! I washed 1 shirt without steam and 1 with steam ! Both temp 60. Without steam did a really good job but could see a very light brown shade! But the steam 1 ended up white! Could not find any stains, shades or marks! Now when both was used at 60 my smart meter was on amber! When it was creating steam it was on amber too, which is not bad compared to Hoover washing machine if I ran those programs the electric smart meter would be RED!
I just bought a house and the washer has steam, I'm curious about it as we're leaving a place with clothes moths which need 120*F to die, my clothes are "clean" but we're using the move to ensure no moths move with us, can I use the steam to kill them? Will the steam heat all.my clothes?
Hi Tracey! Every washing machine is different. We recommend reading your manufacturer's owner's manual. Most steam washers use detergent, but not every machine is the same.
Of course. You have to boil the water, just like a tea kettle takes energy so does a steamer. Par for the course but I must say it’s worth it if you really need to sanitize, remove odor, get stains out, etc. it’s an OPTION, you don’t have to turn the feature on every time you wash. I use it strategically maybe 1 out of every 10 washes for the specific purposes it assists with. My personal experience has been it does clean better than no steam

Fully agree. But the most useless feature is the wifi connection, in which you can start your washing from your cellphone. I dont know anybody that would load their dirty clothes in a washing machine wait half a days just to push a button from your cellphone. All that bad odor attaches into the washing machine and you cannot get rid of it later.
I haven't used the "steam feature" on my washer but I use the "steam feature" on my dryer everytime I return home from a trip/vacation. I throw the clothes I didn't wear on vacation into the dryer and set it on "steam" and it fluffs and takes out all the wrinkles in clothes from being folded and smashed in my suitcase. Steam feature on dryer=yes, Steam feature on washer=not so much.
Haha americans put everything in the dryer and have such shitty top loading washers that washes for about 30 minutes and you are concerned about steam shrinking your clothes? Your clothes shrink and get damaged anyway if you put them into the dryer... Every clothing that is allowed to iron is also save for steam without shrinking.
