EQ. I recently bought a pair, but at a big discount, only 200 pounds in the UK. They're wonderful. Wore them on a long flight and they were epic for music, movies, and Switch. Super-comfortable even for 12 hours with glasses on. That said, I'd think twice about paying full-price, lots of competition at that price point, but they are often on sale (and there's a SE edition knocking about which is exactly the same but with different case).

So, these are my 11th pair of over the head cans. I put these off so long because I kept reading they weren't great on the SOUND front, but after buying them Thursday, setting the EQ to +8, +2, +6, I couldn't be happier with the sound. This tells me that so much is personal. I'm guessing my old man ears, I'm 47, just does better with these than some of my other ones... And some of my others are considered "better." I love these.
I have been looking at getting a pair of these headphones and the mic test you did was awesome!! They sound so clear with no background noise whatsoever!! I’m sold! Heading to Bose’s refurbished site right now!! 😂

I just ordered these, main selling point is how they will fit and that you can put them on all day. I was considering the xm5, but the chase and ear fit problems from long time users made me decide to go for these!

EQ; I have these and the Sony XM5’s and for me the Bose 45’s are the most comfortable headphones out there. Also, you can get great bass by altering the EQ setting.
hello sir. I'm getting an option to buy either qc45, or xm4 at 220 usd each, or xm5, at 300usd. which one shall i go with. my main criteria is ANC and decent sound. I'm not much of an audiophile, so not so particular about the sound. I just require top notch anc to do my work in silence, shut out the world and focus for hours on end with consistent anc

I got them and sent them back. I can't believe there's no button to turn off ANC. I definitely feel like ANC distorts music compared to other headphones when where you are able to turn ANC off
I didn’t know that turning off the anc modes were super important. I’ll keep that in mind when I do more headphone reviews. I hope you were able to find a pair you liked
Got a pair a few days ago for a 11 hr flight. Love how they fit over my ears and the noise cancellation is wonderful. And how the case is small and will fit easily in my carry on. Got them on sale at AAFES BX for $249. Wish Me Luck.

I'm pretty late, but I can give you the answer 😄 No, I used the 35 during lots of long flights and did exactly what you described: No music, just noise canceling and they never turned off.
Try the EQ setting of +3 base 0 mid and -5 trebles. It will make the headphone sounds like sennheiser momentum 4, much better than bose base sound signature. But you get the bose comfort and ANC, not to mention cheaper price than the sennheiser.
Honestly yeah even in 2024 these are great. Especially when airpod maxes are so expensive and heavy to wear! The fact that you can connect wirelessly just makes it usable long term if Bluetooth is no longer an option.
I 100% agree. I’m just now starting to branch out and try new over ear headphones. Currently trying the xm4 (direct competitors with the qc45) as well as some sennheisers

I can only speak on the qc45 but what I can say is that th xm5's are newer and have updated technology so they should have better anc but I'm not sure.
Ive been thinking about getting these, but i have heard that you cant turn off the anc (except turning on aware mode, still thats not turning it off) and its worrying me. Did this bother you at all?
That’s right. It didn’t bother me though. You’ll either hear the outside world or not. I just recommend trying them out. If you don’t like them just return it.
i stay with my BOSE QC 35 II , as long they wont bring out totaly new revolutionary new pair of headphones like the QC35 II when they came out and shock the market for Years i wont consider buying the new Model. I though they would putting in a better battery life , better Bluethooth and ANC . But recently Soundcore kicks up the dirt on the Market of Headphones. I love my QC 35II and its likely the best you can get when you sensible to noise and having a unaffeced sound with ANC turned on. Also likely the best Headphones you can have on the PC. And likely every Autist i know have them , they helping us to be part of normal life. I have mine for 4 Years now , only needed to replace ear cushions , still cheaper than new ones. I have 2nd pair of headphones with ANC to fix the lack battery life the bose have but you eas ydeal with it. I often wear them without audio on , i only want the ANC making everthing a bit quieter

EQ. Just got mine today in Blue Colour for 205$. I was comparing it with Sony XM5 but that was exp and bulky case so I settled with this. As I like its portability and yes it’s BOSE.
I love them. I listen to several different genres of music as well and I am able to adjust to my liking overall. I got my husband to try them for watching videos and phone calls and he fell in love with them. They’re the first pair of ANC headphones that he’s ever tried. So as you mentioned with the price point being lower, I am considering buying a second pair or maybe looking into the 700’s. If you have a video on the 700’s, can you send me a link? Thanks. I haven’t tried the 700’s but from my research they seem like a great option. They also are supposed to have better features as well. If I can get my hands on them I’ll definitely make a video

Honestly I bought a second hand pair of Bose A20s a year and a half ago when I started flight training and they blew me away so much that I’ve now recently bought the QC45. It’s yet to show up in the mail but I figured if Bose can block out engine sounds so well with the A20s while being comfortable enough to wear for 3+ hours at a time in a non air conditioned plane then surely these new bad boys can block out the general sounds of everyday life. I’ll have to see how it goes though but I have high hopes!

The Bose sucks in BT connectivity. Randomly goes mute for a second. Don't know if this happens only with a MacBook Pro, but i don't have that issues with the Sony.
I cant deal with carrying headphones around all the time so I gotta skip all headphones earbuds are just more convient. There are so many people on amazon that say these stopped working in months. I didnt find these to be super clear to me personally. On a side note, i think its crazy that we have been tricked into thinking $200 is a good deal for headphones when u can buy a whole phone for that. Especially bc its likely to stop working within a year or less.
I see what you mean and you make a valid point. I carry wear these around the house when I’m cleaning or when I’m cooking or when I’m at school in the library but most of the time I do carry my AirPods. I also think that $200 now can get you decent headphones and if I had to choose some in that price range these would be one of my top 5 on the list. But also I have to take into account how old they are. This video came out before the updated version of these and I haven’t tested them to see if/how much of a difference they are. Do you have any headphones you’d like me to try?
That’s a fair assessment. I haven’t spend much time with the xm4 so I’m not sure if they are better/worse. They are probably better in some ways and worse in others. I’m going to try and get my hands on a pair so I can do an extensive comparison between the two
Just bought them for €180 tax included. They’re extremely comfortable and the noise cancellation is really really good. The sound is good but nothing extraordinary. Because of that I considered returning them and get the Sony xm5, but I’m not paying a €100 price premium for those.
I understand that! The headphones are a few years old so compared to the xm5 they would technically lose in a head to head battle. I hope you enjoy them though!
This is why I don't purchase Bose headphones or earbuds bcuz they focus more on ANC instead of bass..u can still have good clarity and bass at the same time, that's why I went with the Sennheiser momentum 4's and the tw earbuds
@@legintech4442 183dollars already with taxes, but I have some problems with them. Wearing them with glasses on reduces the noise cancelation. Also I have the feeling that more sound is coming from the right ear cup for some reason and I also found a reddit post about it but maybe I am just imagining. But I like the sound it is very clear and the noise cancellation is crazy in the train, which I use daily to get to school.
@@legintech4442 yeah basically. I’ve had everyone in my family try them on and it seems like it’s a me problem. Just looking down at my desk or doing anything besides keeping my head neutral shifts them. I can wear a hat and it’s perfectly fine but that’s not always the best.
I wonder if they don’t have a tight enough clamp force for you. It might be an issue with Bose not taking in account all head shapes. I’m sorry that that’s happening to you.
