Thanks for this. I love literature of all kinds, but I grew up in a family where made up stories were just considered a waste of time. It's to hear such things being given value, and from a Christian worldview! I never quite believed it was a "waste of time", but when you grow up hearing that nonstop, you do tend to internalize that attitude, even against your own will.

I guess that the word good comes from the term God. But Islam is the truth. Please become Muslim. Prophet Jesus peace be upon him is a lovely prophet of Allah. And the Prophet Muhammed peace be upon him is the last prophet of Him.

Really enjoy your lectures and other videos. Keep up the good work. Also, it's a better look 'sans lunettes'.. something about the way the camera was catching the magnifying power of those lenses was distracting somehow...

'Where Troy Once Stood' is an interesting book. It argues that the events described in "The Iliad" and "The Odyssey" happened not in the Eastern Mediterranean, but in North-West Europe and the North Atlantic, this book goes further than merely tracing connections between Britain and Troy. The book argues that the Aegean/Mediterranean place names, like the "European" names in North America (Washington, Troy, Cambridge, Briton, etc) were established much later. The Homeric tales, it is claimed, do not fit the topography, geology, climate or Oceanic disturbances of the Eastern Mediterranean. Troy was in Cambridgeshire in England and is a Celtic epic, not greek. The names aren't greek, nor the weather patterns and fighting/burial customs. Mounds and cremations are Celtic. The book really does make a good case. Would love to hear Wes' opinion on this.

You assume Christianity to be true in totality, but not any other religion or worldview. How did you come to that belief?

There are many ways Christians have answered that over the centuries, with different emphases. But here is what I believe is the most compelling: Jesus Christ rose from the dead. The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ sets Christianity apart from every other religion. Christians serve a risen Savior, the overcomer of death itself, and the "first fruits" from the dead, as Scripture puts it.

really open minded from you..., from a philosophical stand point you are allways supposed to seek TRUTH, not what suits you or sounds pretty, the humble search for knowledge and wisdom, that's the difference between you and a scholar like Wes.
