Just as Beowulf was composed from legends to be performed as an evening entertainment at the court of King Ælfwald Wuffing, the Sira was probably written to be performed at the court of the Abbasid dynasty in Baghdad. The inclusion of copious amounts of poetry in between chapters, suggests that this was not simply a 'biography', but the 8th-century equivalent of a documentary TV-series. Following the caliph's evening meal, the performer would read the biography of the prophet and chant or sing poetry embellishing what had been read.

Easiest way to corner muslim. "Bible wrong" Well why is it wrong "Scholars said so." The same scholars that conceded to a catholic scholar like brant pitre? Since when scholars were authoritative behind the bible? "But quran and muslim source said so" Where is the evidence for original injeel? And even if it just a brain message why is there no refrence to it at all? Why is it muhammed said they were reliable only to abrogate it later Is allah not omniscient or did muhammed change his mind? This religion generally speaking is a logical and reasoning mess.
When Allah realizes he made a mistake, he changes his revelation and 'causes' his prophet to forget the previous errors. Hint: It's easier to 'forget' previous mistakes if you DON'T WRITE THEM DOWN. Mohammed didn't write down his mistakes ... er his revelations ... so it was easy to change 'Allah's' words when the errors became inconvenient.
