They look so cheap though. 500+ for a boot with a zipper and a boot that doesnt look like it can be easily resoled is a hard no from me.

Yeah, the cheap looking bookbinder leather + the clear lack of a welt is really off-putting. Normally, that is completely unacceptable for a boot of that price. For this price you can get boots that have A grade leather with GYW or hand welt. Hell Meermin or BLKBRD have sub-300 boots that seem to have vastly higher quality. Can someone explain to me what the appeal for this boot is? Is the boot last really special? The silhouette is definitely funky, but you can get custom MTO silhouettes for that price if you know where to look.

It’s because these boots are from Our Legacy. The design itself is nothing new and it’s not at all high quality in from a boot making standpoint but some people don’t know that and don’t care to know that.

@@BossNzzle Well, I don't know where you live and I'm sure most brands I'm familiar with would not be available to you for the reason above. But just remember that this type of design has always been in women's fashion since early 2000's. It was simply called "women's ankle leather boots" back then. It sort of fallen out of style in late 2010's due to its generic, simple style. The difference is that the heels are slightly short in order to make it unisex. Also it's available in multiple colors. I have a similar boots from Margaret Howell from like 10 years ago.

The leather looks like it’s coated in plastic dude. Full grain leather doesn’t wrinkle like that

They’re addictive. I started with the ash grey ones. They are looking fantastic with black jeans. Then I thought I also need brown ones, so I can wear them with blue denim. Then I got black ones, cause you can wear them with everything really and last (but not least?) I got the olive ones, which look kinda brownish/greenish, cause I love the color so much. What can I say? I’m a fan obviously. These are awesome boots. Great quality and super versatile.

@@leafv2493 overly homogenized texture, even average quality leather has a vibrance that shifts colors when you look at it from different angles. This is flat and plastic. This type of leather is called bookbinder leather, I advise you search it up. For this price to have this is egregious but sadly par for the course for fashion houses marketing to people inexperienced with leather. This is about the level of leather quality you’d get from $175 docs, which are themselves already vastly overpriced. As for being glued on, it’s really clear from all the photos I look at that it doesn’t even have the fake welt that factories glue onto shoes. So bonus points for not pretending ig? 99% of the time I love Drew’s fashion takes, but this one is a big miss for me. I wish he’d look at the small artisinal crafters (like he has for knitwear) instead of just buying into hype.

so heres my thing. i wear a size 9 typically and it provides me a good amount of space, and i do like my shoes a bit looser. so when he says to size down, should i go to an eu 41 or an eu 40?
