Just ordered a set, due to fit Friday. Feeling more confident about my decision. Same thing. Had never heard of them and watched a few videos, culminating in yours. Thanks, mate. Australia.
Hands down best truck tire out there for the money. They are quiet on the highway. People are amazed how quiet my truck is on the highway with M/T tires. They are also very grippy on jeep roads. I have ran the Nitto Ridge Grapplers which are also great tires but these radar's are just as good for almost half the price.
Excellent review. I just put a set of 35x12.5x20 on my Excursion. I only have about 300 miles on them. That being said I have been impressed with the road noise and their capabilities off road and in the rain. The fact they have a 45000 mile warranty is an added bonus. The fact that they are 50% cheaper than Toyos is a huge added bonus. This seems to be one of those cases where cheaper doesn't mean cheap. Time will tell. Thanks for sharing.
Mine have just started to get a little noisy. But I haven't rotated them as frequent. So that's my recommendation. Rotate fairly often...that should help!
I actually bought the AT variant for my 2nd gen ram because i needed all year tires with a snowflake here in Germany. were pretty much the only ones i could get for 16 inch rims and the wheels lookged horendous because they were way too small XD. now i have the 3rd/4th gen Aluminum 20" rims with the same Radar ATs in front and some some used summers in the back for now. was all extremely cheap so who can say no. looking forward to buying a new set of radars this fall loved them for 1 1/2 years on my ram and they still look new and have actually hardly lost any profile. They are also pretty good offroad and are generally fun to drive with. glad i picked this brand as my first for my first V8 ^^
I'm looking at buying this exact same tire & size right now & y'all just finallized my decision! I've watched/read at least a dozen other positive reviews & I'll add 0 neg reviews on this company & tires. I was also looking at the Renegade R7 but the RT+ is my preferred choice. A very concise, complete all round review, thanks for taking the tire & effort to post it. BTW, I have a '15 F150 Lariat with a Rough Country 4" lift so I don't think (but I'll post it on my channel) that I'll rubbing issues at all. That extra inch I've been told makes all the difference & for the money & ease of install, was the best choice imho for my truck, I personally think 6" is a bit much for my needs & less expensive as I don't have to other upgrades to correct shaft anhles, ifs issues, etc. Anyway, really appreciate your excellent review, thanks again. Going to check out more of your content 👍, cheers from up north 🇨🇦
I will definitely buying those! I normally run BF Goodrich done that for years! I like how they are a mix hybrid! I go 60% on roads and my issues are I'm have a heavy fishing boat that I need to get up out of water. I go on your recommendation and that noise is not a thing to complain about! Best regards from Sweden Scandinavia 🇸🇪
@@WillMosbey That's good to know because I do lots of travel and we has poor roads those days! Lack of maintenance. I have run BF for my trucks. I definitely try those out ! Hope you doing well in North Carolina. I did live in Illinois fore some years. The swed 🇸🇪
Radars are great, I have had the radars r7 m/t 35s on 20 inch wheels for the longest time but when the time comes to swap them out I'm definitely getting these because I want the best of both worlds 👍🏼 R/T
I bought these…but I’m not using spacers will there be rubbing? My 2020 F150 sits pretty high already…however I got the Patriot Rugged R/T+ (3pms) 275/55R20
Good video. Those are actually the renegade r/t not the renegade r/t+. They have the demon head on the side. If they were r/t+ they would have the skull and pistons. I have no idea what the actual difference other than looks is between those two tires. Maybe there is none.
I feel very safe on wet pavement. They don't slide (unless I want them too). And they disperse water very well. So far my wheels balance perfectly. No issues.
@@sleebags1100 Well….Not really “issues” 35’s look cool-otherwise, they affect my True M.P.H. & overall handling (nothing major) I have a 6” Rough Country Lift *It’s Typically Best to Follow The Manufacturer’s Specs…in all honesty 🤷🏼♂️
Hey thanks for the comment. If you go looking through some of the other comments and see where I have responded you'll see my thoughts. I got rid of them and went to the all terrains because of road noise was too unbearable.
I'll be the first to admit after being on my truck for a little more than a year, they have started to have an odd wearing and have just a little road noise. But I was first sold on getting the renegades because of this video I saw with this couple that had his and her jeeps each running renegades. And they both spoke highly of them.
I probably have close to 25,000 mi on them and they are holding up well. Not as quiet as they were in the beginning but still not bad. I can still have a conversation in the cab of my truck. And they eat through water on the pavement very well. I'm very impressed with how well they handle water.
@@WillMosbey What kind of mileage do you think you'll get out of them? Are they 1/2 way gone on the tread depth? Will you purchase again or try another brand?
@@samdingo1956 My guess is about 10 to 20% of the tread is gone but a lot of life left in the tire. I can probably get another 25,000 mi out of them. My next set will be the radar all terrain tires.
I have them on my brand new used 2014 F-150 ecoboost. I read the tires and they're rated at 80psi. I checked them and they were all at 35 psi. So I put more air at 50 psi. Do you put 80 psi on your tires? I'm scared that they might explode on me. The most I've put on a tire is like 51 psi and that's scary too.
If the tire is rated for that then it's fine. Your truck isn't heavy so your correct 40-50 PSI would be ideal. Overinflated will wear the center tread out quicker.
Probably doesn't rain here quite as much but I've had no problems in the rain or snow. They really are a great tire. I will definitely get another set when these need to be replaced. Hopefully a long time from now.
Update please. Currently have mickey Thompson Baja boss ats and they've been phenomenal especially in snow. 65k on them and have 12/32 left out of 18/32. 7000 pound denali and tow often. Just wanna try another tire next. Thinking about these and cooper rugged treks. I like that radar gives back to the community and price point as well is making me wanna give them a try.
I've not had Toyo but have seen lots. I too was comparing them and went with the Renegades on price and other folks reviews. They look very similar. I would imagine road noise would be a little more with the Toyo due to MT lug pattern. Just a guess.
Iv got Toyo open country a/t and they absolutely suck ass in any wet conditions ... 2020 f250 less than 25k miles and I'm looking for replacements they are dangerous
very nice set up , I just got these exact same tires with some moto metal wheels. Was looking for the TOYO A/Tiii but just availabily and price was a problem for me. Stumble upon this brand and decided to pull the trigger. Hoping they turn out good. BY the way does your truck have the front camera? I see you upgraded the front grill, where did you put the camera?
It does but I had to rig it with that grill. Truthfully it doesn't work that great. I can see out of the front but the letters are in the way. I don't really use or need the front camera too much if any.
@@WillMosbey Thanks for the info… Im not a fan of Ford’s 2020 and under camera system. Quality seems poor compared to other makes. Front camera looking the worse IMO.
@@WillMosbey I wonder if its the camera or the screen. I saw a youtuber install the links screen and the cameras looked amazing. Crystal clear! at least from the video
@9:04 One thing I love about this company is there commitment to being "carbon neutral"....... Says the man driving a gas guzzling lifted truck with 35" tires towing his camper....... LOL just messing with you.... kind of funny though.... Those tires seem like the ones im going with, (same size as yours) do you happen to know if one side had white letters or are both sides black wall? thanks
Both sides are black walls. And I had to read your statement several times before it sunk in. At first I thought you were saying I had a carbon neutral company. I was like well that's wrong. But I finally got it that you were quoting what I said about the company Radar. I was a little slow on that one!
UPDATE 2/23/24....I just had to warranty out 2 complete sets (4 tires per set) of the 275/65/R20 RADAR Renegade RT's within 2 months. How does a company sell DEFECTIVE TIRES and not expect anyone to say anything???..............""RADAR RENEGADES ARE 100% ABSOLUTE GARBAGE TIRES!!!!!""
@@brianoneill1223 That's actually what turned me onto these. I saw this couple who each drove jeeps and they both used this tire. Their review is on YT
@WillMosbey it's a great video. I thought you were sponsored, sorry 😅 do either of them do well in snow? What about mud? I know both are 3pmsf, but I wonder what your opinion is.
@@jonyjonsy funny you should ask. We went to the NC mountains and went to beech MTN to go skiing in January and there was a big snow storm (15+ inches). My truck had no issues. Coming down off of the mountain was pretty sketchy.
