It would be absolutely crazy if the Wolves found a way to win a championship before both the Vikings and Wild.

Our GM is the guy who built the Nuggets into who they are today. No coincidence that we match up so well with them.
@BlackWhirlwindSett

The Nuggets produce a lot of great GM's. Masai Ujiri winning a championship with the Raptors as their GM, Tim Conley with y'all who drafted Jokic and Murray. Kelvin Booth the Nuggets current GM drafts great talent later in the draft. The last 2 years he has drafted 3 players that would be starting somewhere else. Payton Watson a 5 star recruit for UCLA, didn't play much in college but has endless talent. Christian Braun who played exclusively in the championship run, and Julian Strawther who can put up 20 pts when he catches fire. They will replace some of the guys on the current starting lineup like KCP Gordon as well as MPJ. That is how dynasties are made, Conley got them on track. Booth made them into a potential dynasty with incredible drafting.

As a nuggets fan that went to a ton of games in the playoffs last year, the TWolves match up against us super well. They were the team I was most worried about in our run last year and they weren't even fully healthy. Great bigs, great length at the smaller positions too, good defenders to put on Murray, they're a force. Happy for their fans, their team is a treat to watch, hope they make a good playoff run this year but still lose to my nuggs in the end 😂

One thing missing is Jaden McDaniels. He’s played only a handful of games this season so far. He is an elite perimeter defender, maybe the best perimeter defender in the league. He also can’t score a bit too. I think he can develop his scoring during the season along with his elite defending. Ant and KAT will trade off primary scorer depending on who’s hot. Rudy will alway either draw fouls or get easy buckets. Then depending on the matchups Jaden and Naz can be our 3 scorer. We have gotten off to a rough start offensively but there is still a lot of “meat of the bone” as Dane would say.

Thanks to the Nuggets and Jokic, size and height is back to being one of the most important things in basketball. After about a decade of teams playing small-ball, now you have no chance of winning without a center. Jokic,Embiid and Giannis have been so dominant in the last years, all other teams need to adjust their rosters if they want to contend.
@09lowkey
@09lowkey 6 месяцев назад
What I like about the Wolves is that they took a chance on Edwards’ development when they traded for Gobert. If it pans out then Gobert and KAT presents a unique matchup issue for teams in the playoffs. Along with the problem that Edwards presents on his own. I think the Wolves are better constructed to play the Nuggets than the Suns are. Idk about Suns vs Wolves tho.

It is something to think about cause this is the first time in a long time that A team in the West would start Two good players that are taller than 7 feet. Defensively, yes. For starters, Denver is a huge team with a ton of length. Their starter's avg. height is 6 ft 7.6 inches. Murray is the shortest at 6'4. Minny's starters are the exact same avg. height. Apart from Conley (whose buy-in on defense has been huge this year), everyone who gets meaningful minutes is 6'4 or taller, which applies a ton of soft pressure to an offense Gobert, Towns, Naz Reid, and even Kyle Anderson form a list of long bodies you can throw at Jokic to tire him out and wear him down. Defensively, both Jaden and Ant are mobile enough to handle Murray's switching. Offensively it remains to be seen whether they can make it work for a full season, and playoff basketball is a different beast. But so far, when the lights are at their brightest, Ant's been meeting the moment over and over and over.

KAT's inconsistency will have his numbers matching up with MPJ not Jokic. Great Defense doesn't beat Great Offense. Jokic's " impact "will still be not be affected by Gobert. Edwards, has to match Murray, while consistently thinking about the different defensive looks between KCP, Gordon, C. Braun, MPJ (Far Height Advantage) Compared to Murray, being Guarded by Conley As soon as the switch occurs Conley is a mismatch for anyone else in the Nuggets starting 5. And if the ball is in Jokic's hands that's getting punished.

Assuming Jaden doesn't have any more injuries this year he would be the player that is on Murray, not Conley. Defensive rotations would be KAT on Jokic, Rudy on Gordon, Ant on MPJ, Conley on KCP, and Jaden on Murray. That's pretty much how they played it last year defensively with Alexander-Walker in Jaden's place. I think either way if this series takes place it'll probably go to 7.

I think the biggest question for the Wolves is if they can unlock that offense. I would argue that there's a lot left on the table in that regard given the offensive talent on the roster. But at least so far, they're a very average team offensively. If they can unlock the offense and maintain a top 3 net defensive rating, then anything could happen. But my crystal ball is broken so I refuse to predict if that offense is going to get figured out.

They didn't make much change from end of season last year to this year. So this team is interesting. Last year "gobert trade worse trade ever". This year "Rudy is great".

@@doktarr I don't know if you can call it an overpay when RG did the best job guarding Jokic in the playoffs last year and is anchoring their defense the way you imagined. Ant and Kat have it clicking. Trades take time to full flesh out. People are way too aggressive to can a team off of 1 year

If the series were to go deep and Mike Malone opts to stagger the Jokic minutes with shooters, what would the Timberwolves adjustment be? You leave the 2 bigs you're cooked from the perimeter or cover him with only Gobert and he's shown the ability to put 50 on him and foul him out.

If 🐜 man can be the best guard on the floor, with 🐈 adding a 22-25pt double double with boards while everyone else playing as they are I think they could beat the nuggets. The lost of Bruce Brown isn’t talked about as much as I’d expect but I think it will arise come playoffs that man was one of the best X factors on a NBA championship I’ve seen in recent memory. I stand a lakers fan and as one I just don’t trust KCP he fits well with Denver but he only seems to do great when the team is hands down the better team, if it’s any doubt upon the team he seems to cower into a disappearance.

What does that points per switch even mean? Seems like a pretty irrelevant cherry picket stat, also I get the spacing argument if that was the wolves only option, it’s what makes naz so valuable come playoff time which was not a option last season, also why is a knock on this team a top 5 offense when all we hear is in the playoffs defense wins

@@WizardofWestmarch You have it wrong. The Thunder destroyed the nuggets all threes times last season and both games this season . They are a Deep Team aswell where 9 guys can score in Double Figures in the Same Game. They can score 150 in a game. Alexander is the best Scoring SF and SG in the NBA. Jokic will get his 35 / 15 / 10 with 2 blocks Alexander will get 50. The Nuggets lost some good players. They just barely won and the Thunder are Better now than they were 2 months ago.

IDK why theres such laziness with talking about spacing and Kat scoiring. Kat is a perimeter player, and is shooting 50 40 90, And Naz reid will come in for Gobert in times who can also play the perimeter. There bench and shooters around them are getting great looks, passing and perimeter scoring... And how can you say they can't be a top 5 offense, when they were the #1 offense two years ago lol....?
