on contract basis only.. first let private firms do the setup, begin the process and prove it successful! Can't waste tax money like before... doesn't matter if it is an investment.. contract will yield enough benefits.. Sure that even if Government does it all on its own and reap great spectacular profits there won't be any change in common man's tax cut-off or petrol/gas prices etc.

Gold is not just a precious metal, it is more than that. Gold reserves decides the worth/wealth of a country. If Reason for privatisation is to increase the efficiency why can't government increase their efficiency?? Instead of giving to private companies. If it is privatized..who will decide the price of Gold..?? We are already seeing the effects of privatisation of Education Sector, Health Sector, many other sectors...

I don’t recommend privatization. Government should deploy best practices and should have environmental specialist team to monitor continuously. Most important is that the mines gold should be used within the country and not exported for higher rates and create demand within the country.

Already there were many mines given to private not everyone are successful or profitable for government. Nalco, Krishna Godavari basin, digman basin, all were given to private how much money they generated for themselves and how much they paid in salaries and in taxes.
