With Radiohead, it helped to be there at the time. I was 17 when The Bends came out and a freshman in college when OK Computer came out. Pre-millennial anxiety was a real thing. Anxiety about technology, the future, society. Radiohead captured that anxiety perfectly, while simultaneously changing the face of rock music. There was all this bullshit boyband stuff and then Radiohead out in the mainstream making it okay to think and feel things. Not unlike what Nirvana did a few years earlier. Anyway, I know The Bends hasn't maybe aged as well as the others, but when it came out it was pretty amazing, and then OK Computer really felt like a pinnacle had been reached. There was all this handwringing about where rock music could go from there, which is why the genre evolution of Kid A was both monumental and perhaps inevitable. Kid A is my favorite album of all time, with OK Computer being my second favorite. Definitely a perfect three-album run for me, but age and context play a factor for sure.

Nick Drake’s Five Leaves Left, Bryter Layter and Pink Moon is like a perfect 3 album full lifetime discography.

Thriller/ Beat It/ Billie Jean is the most perfect 3 song run of all time.

Nina Simone’s run from Broadway-Blues-Ballads to I Put A Spell On You is one of the best album runs I have ever personally heard. I would say Pastel Blues and I Put A Spell On You are perfect, Pastel Blues just barely being the best of the three, and B-B-B is close enough to make it a perfect run imo

jimi hendrixx with are you experienced, axis: bold as love, and electric ladyland is a perfect three album run. im very dissapointed that no one mentioned it

I think the fleet foxes take is reasonable. Especially considering the fact that crack up was conceived after a 6 year hiatus. I love crack up and I would consider it near perfect. Homework - Discovery - Human After All is probably the closest to a perfect run imo. Human After All has maybe 1 miss and Homework has 1 or 2 tracks that make it a bit too long, but Discovery is perfect and the other 2 are still very close. I think other close to perfect 3-album runs are Californication - By The Way - Stadium Arcadium (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Toxicity - Mesmerize - Hypnotize (System Of A Down)

Fleet foxes first 3 albums are perfect!! Shore is close but gets a little repetitive by the end. Always will be one of my favorite bands, glad to see you show them some love
