Jeremiah Freeman No, Sony were bad at marketing, they didn't support it, and they made the memory cards far too expensive, this would have changed very little if at all
Not really. We would still have to pay for it another extra :/, and memory cards still very expensive, and play station is still not developing vita games. No it would barely have changed things.
It's ridiculous that they just didn't make it with the actual buttons in the first place. They essentially only needed a ps4 controller with a screen instead of a d pad!
I'm still looking for the L2/R2 grip for my Vita OLED. Also you can just press the Fierce/Roundhouse to perform the Level 3 supers (level 2) if you only have 2 bars of meter.
NihongoGamer the Vita has Bluetooth, so can't you use a dualshock with it? or any other aftermarket bt controllers? I don't have one to try it out, but I think it should work.. it won't be all in one, but I'm sure you can try one of those dualshock controller phone holder things.
Sir Charles, Negative. Most Vita players/owners tried it. The Vita reads it but it's missing software or hardware or there's a restriction in place to not enable dualshock 3 or 4 support. Trust me, I tried it! the vita tv/PSTV has dualshock support so I think you'll have to take out whatever's in the pstv and place in the vita or something like that-along those lines...
consider henkaku is out there for quite a while, I believe someone in the community will probably do it sooner than later. And it'll probably be a kernel module.
Maybe try the top player grip, It got both 1k and 2k variation, but the l3 r3 are usually sold separately as an extension. Yea I know this comment is old.
Guciom Have had a Vita since launch, so I love it, but it is all but dead. It's just been shitty Japanese games for a couple years now. That's not what us early adopters bought it for. They released games for the PS2 until the PS4 launched, but the PS2 was dead long before that
But even on that front it isn't. The Japanese market was the last frontier for the Vita and the Switch is quickly taking it over. Also, just because you say it's alive to you doesn't mean it is. It's dead. It was pulled of shelves a while back as well.
The ReVita plug-in on a hacked Vita brings a lot more value to owning this, you can map R2 L2 R3 L3 to the back and then set a toggle to have another profile set of buttons mapped to the back for more system wide convenience, really handy. Just recently discovered this and tested it out while playing Ys 8 and it allows you to also swap L1 and R1 with these larger back shoulder buttons.
I need something like this in my life! About a third of my time spent playing PS4 is actually through remote play on the Vita. Unfortantely I have the original model Vita.
goddamn, I saw that and immediately purchased one. I prefer the 3DS to the Vita personally, but I have both, and this definitely fixes one of the biggest gripes I had with the system
NihongoGamer you're killing me I gotta find this for the original PSVita, especially for the PS1 and Remote Play. Your videos make me want to get the arcade stick, the sony camera, cintiq, ipad pro; I'm gonna lose my shirt buying all this cool stuff. My only question is living in Japan space is limited I wonder where do you keep your stuff?
Joshua Sandoval ah, if only it were a thing. Speaking making something look large and unwieldy, have you seen the circle pad pros for 3DS? Especially the circle pad pro for 3DSXL - those things are gigantic, almost like holding and carrying a WiiU gamepad. Though it does genuinely come in handy for games like monster hunter (albeit slightly less so for the extra trigger buttons as is the case here).
TheBraveGallade very true! But man, I got so many hours use out of my old 3ds + circle pad pro combo (on Monster Hunter) before upgrading. It was quite the abomination but incredibly useful 😂
I remember the Max version of alpha 3 for PSP not needing 3 punches or kicks for a high level super but I could be wrong on that I need to check it. Great video as always
just now watched the vid. apparently they are quite admired and for some reason hori seems to have stopped making them. it's hard to find one for under $80 USD so that's a bummer. the price probably still won't stop me from getting one though.
so happy i bought this after your review its about $100 or 15,000 yen on amazon now. Also if you mod your vita you can customize the buttons for ps4 games.
+abdulmalik refaei The miku one is "tell your world" by good smile. There's a video on my channel about it. The smaller one is the official event figure of Wonder Fes winter 2017 :)
After getting the white ps4 and then the Spiderman limited edition ps4 pro bundle , I've decided to get a ps vita too . very few brand new ones left in Japan and I managed to get a brand new aqua blue Ps vita from Japan and 6 brand new games,a 32 gb memory card, and a double compartment case to hold all my ps vita and accessories. I decided to get the vita due to remote play for the ps4 because we travel often to north Carolina and taking the vita with the vita games and the remote play capability makes life easier. Lighter the luggage the better. I have unlimited high speed hotspot, so this makes this a perfect idea for all day errands and traveling. So, now I got to get the Hori Trigger Grip cause having the L3,R3,L2,R2 buttons will make remote play much better. Might have to get the Nykon power grip too for when I just wanna play the vita games while going hiking up the mountains(during rest periods).
first time ever in the video game history: in Europe we have more than 10 game for ps Vita (most of them are jrpg) in a single month: May. But I just can't get a brand new ps vita.
I just wish it worked with every game in remote play. unfortunately some games are assigned to the front touch pad for the L2,L3,R2,R3 buttons and you can't remap them to be at the back in the centre... other than that, its a good little accessory
NihongoGamer there is a similar one for just L1 R1 from JEC, I'm not familiar with JOETSU Electronics Ind Co. what do you think of the build quality from their products in general?
I feel like most of the time the PS4 assigns L2 and R2 inputs to the front touch screen now, during remote play. With L2/R2 on the top corners and L3/R3 on the bottom corners.
Im still saving for a vita in general, can't wait to get it since my psp is dead. Either the plug or the battery can't hold a charge anymore, and really no point in trying to keep it alive at this point.
princeofhalcyon make sure you get a Vita with 3.60 firmware or lower specifically, so you can hack it and get PSP, PS1, and a lot of other emulators. search Adrenaline for Vita, it's basically a PSP running inside the Vita. It has replaced my PSP perfectly.
Thanks for the info, but im not really into doing that kinda stuff, not just because somehow things always go wrong when i mess with technology :P (which is why im glad the ps4 supports external hd now) but im mostly getting it as a portable storage device so i can hold all my music and references for while im drawing. Only game i ever really wanted on the vita was muramasa rebirth i think it was called. May get some more cheap things here and there, but i more or less wont be using it for games.
I NEED THIS FOR THE RATCHET AND CLANK COLLECTION. And for Borderlands 2... Also I love how these titles all sound really negative, but actually praise what you're talking about.
I would go for this but the only fighting game I really play is UMvC3 and that game is fully optimized for the PS Vita, with no rear touch pad required.
if you don't need the extra buttons go on ebay i bought a grip it looks sorta like what he has,And it feels much better in your hands plus it has a kick stand.
I barely bought a Japanese vita last month. With shipping being 15 bucks, i still only spent 190. Fucken deal. And I have so many games because of all the psp, ps1 and vita games PlayStation plus has been giving me for that last 4 years. And I bought this accessory. And bro I love my vita. And remote play is awsome with this device attached to my vita. Am playing red dead redemption 2 in bed before going to bed every night with no problem. It's a must have!
first off, thanks for making useful videos secondly with controllers you want to have as much variety as possible BUT not many buttons and l2 and r2 have been useful for example in marvel you can l2 and r2 for a hyper combo or just a 1 meter combo and with guilty gear i feel that the one on vita with the online was the most useful for movement with vita and i feel if you use i-no from guilty gear you will see what i mean.
I bet playing PsOne Armored Core with this is amazing. It's quite cumbersome on the Vita, since you have to assign looking up and down to L2/R2, which in turn forces you to use the touch pad. Is there any way to get this in the U.S.?
To me the Super Nintendo controller was one of the best ever. I actually don't need 25 buttons and levers. Ideally I would like a small controller with six buttons in 2 rows of 3, along with a joystick on the left instead of a d pad.
can use your help please. I got my grip with the L2 R2 L3 and R3 yesterday. but when I try to play God of War (remote play to the Ps4) the touch buttons are on the front pad and not on the back where they need to be. how do you change the button layout so i can enjoy my vita even more? thanks in advance
Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to re-map the buttons for remote play. For some reason, the L2, R2, L3 and R3 buttons are mapped to the screen rather than the touchpad at the back, could you help me fix this, thanks!
I have the original vita but I love the look of that 2000! I almost want one just cuz it looks so good. I tried playing Mad Max with remote play once and had some trouble cuz I had to use the touchpad to accelerate. I wonder if this would help. I really hope sony makes a new handheld.
2:35 Nihongo Gamer wants to henshin into kamen rider, o)-( btw whats your real name or name that people usually calls you, cuz calling you ninhongo gamer is... mouthful
If they made it part of the of the vita not an accessory cause it looks like a mini controller sure it would make it a little more bulky but at least it would have made the shooter and the ps1 games work perfectly on it
For this particular game depending on what punch or kick you use to gauge of the super will be depleted depending on what my new used you don't have to push or three punch or all three kick this in Street fighter for
How would someone from the us get this? Is there a site that'll ship to over here? I liked being able to play PS4 games on the vita but dislike the back touchpad
