Exactly. Like i dont want some girl to ask what type of music I listen to and then I sound like a nerd when really video game music is just infinitely better than the garbage on the radio (my opinion)
In my opinion the song of healing is the best due to its meaning within the story. The calm almost self reflective melody is a complete contrast to the deep gruesome story and funny enough inside the clock tower is where u can hear the theme and time even stops when your inside the clock tower giving you that time to take a breather, heal (mentally) and reflective
oh damn thx Jimmy! Im a Game Sound Designer, and its so wholesome to see that some people still care about those aspects! Ik im 5 months late on this video but thx a lot for the commentary!
There's a version of the song of healing that plays when you talk to the Mask Salesman at the beginning of Majora's Mask that is basically one of if not my favorite song in the whole series. It lives rent free in the back of my mind with Slateport City form Pokémon RSE.
OK dissing Bolero of Fire like that was low man lmao Seriously, I gotta say my favorite tracks from Ocarina are the Forest Temple, Hyrule Field, Last Battle, and the Temple of Time. Love all of them, epic and awesome and - dare I say it - L E G E N D A R Y. Outside of Ocarina, that's too much to consider and that's too much atm lol
That Rito village music always brings me to tears because when i entered the village and this beautiful music started playing i saw the Village Elder, the Big Owl and he reminded me so much of my Father who had died the year before. Love you Dad.
The noise you are talking about is a percussion instrument called "cuíca", and is basically a better sound of what you can achieve with the straw on the soda lid.
OoT, minish cap, skyward sword (and oddly MM even though I don't think I ever finished it properly), thes games songs just makes me want to cry my eyes out
My faves of the games I've played: OOT: Spirit Temple, Forest Temple and the mid-boss battle theme. MM: Milk Bar, Stone Tower Temple and the Observatory. WW: Outset Island, Dragon Roost Island. TP: Hidden Village, Falbi's House. BotW: Rito Village, Kass's Theme.
Some of my favourite TLOZ songs: LA - "Ballad of the Wind Fish Song" and "House" OoT - "Zora's Domain" and "Forest Temple" MM - "Song of Healing" and "Last Day" WW - "Title Theme", "Dragon Roost Island", "Outset Island", "Windfall Island" and "End Credits" MC - "Hyrule Town" TP- "Midna's Lament" and "Lake Hylia" PH - "The Sands of Time" ST - "Realm Overworld" SS - "Fi's Gratitude Theme", "Fi's Farewell Theme" and "Skyloft Theme" ALBW - "Mother Maimai" and "Lorule Overworld", "Dark Palace" and "Swamp Palace" BotW - "Maze Forest", "Zora's Domain - Day", "Rito Village - Day" and"Hateno Village"
so glad malladus’ theme made it onto the list, so many rankers just take the main overworld theme and… yeah, that one’s damn good, but to me, nothing quite beats the rush of _that exact theme kicking in as you fight_ , and alongside the rest of it… whew. spirit tracks doesn’t get the respect it deserves.
I listen to 80s synth and metal, rock, video game, anime, techno, glitchhop, a bit of rap, techno swing, covers, Platina Jazz, metal covers of Disney songs... etc...
My top 5 Zelda songs: 1: Ordon Village 2: Hyrule Field (night) Twilight Princess 3: Gereudo Valley 4: Dark world (A link to the past) 5: The original overworld theme
My favorit ost so far: 1. Gerudo Valley. From Ocarina of Time and Cadance of Hyrule. 2. Song of Storm from Ocarina of Time and Season. 3. World Theme from Cadance of Hyrule
Sprit tracks has some BANGERS in it. I recommend Opening theme Hyrule Castle Chancellor Cole Realm Overworld/ Overworld Adventure Final Battle: Malladus
I think my top 5 zelda songs are: Gerudo Valley (Ocarina of Time) Overworld Theme (Spirit Tracks) Ballad of the Goddess (Skyward Sword) Dragonroost Island (Wind Waker) Minigame Theme (A Link Between Worlds)
I love Zelda music so much. I played several of the games when I was younger and still love them today. They were some of the first video games I ever played
“Titular” means “the thing that was in the title.” In this case, the song title and game title are both Link’s Awakening. I think it’s a combination of songs he likes and ones that are relevant to the game. The Song of Healing, for example, is core to the main gameplay loop of encountering a soul that’s near dying or recently died, turning them into a mask which contains their spirit, then using their power to solve the problem plaguing their homeland.
ok stupid take: outset island. purely emotional pick, but running around confused as to what i need to do because i skipped the dialogue with my friend is one of my fondest memories. i miss him, i havent talked to him years, since elementary school
10:53 n3ver beat the game but I can immediately tell this one's good, got the common wind chimes(/tubes?) n everything that you'd get soooo accustomed to hearin honestly hearing this games ost again is soooo nostalgic
These are my top 10 all time: 10 Ballad of the Goddess 9 Song of Storms 8 Song of Healing 7 Lon Lon Ranch 6 Dragon Roost Island 5 Gerudo Valley 4 Zelda’s Lullaby 3 Midna’s Lament 2 Fi’s Farewell 1 Temple of Time
3:45 Hold up! Not only have I played I also at one point in time owned both GBC carts and played them [sadly still haven't beaten it and GBC were traded in for something else]...
Lost Woods , song of storms and possibly temple of time remain my favourites but no song has ever had 5 year old me cat jamming like the SHOP SONG! Absolute banger.
As someone who also listens to a lot of video game music, I recently learned its genre name is Otacore, so now I can say that my favorite genre of music is Otacore music
You forgot Sheik Theme, one of the best themes, so calm, so intriguing and yet so good. My picks from Legend of Zelda are (not in order): -Ocarina of time title theme -wind waker title theme -Ballad of the Goddess (reverse is Zelda's Lullaby) -Gerudo Valley -Ganon theme - Pirates theme from wind waker - Midna's Lament - Cursed Sea from Wind Waker (like the contrast from the original theme of the Sea) -Fairy Fontain theme -Dragon Roost Island (and therefore rito village theme from BOTW) - The mini boss theme from the Gerudo Desert in BOTW (Moldova?) - Song of Healing -Song of storms - Guardian Theme from BOTW -Twilligh Princess Title OST
BotW was the game that had helped me find my way back into gaming. After playing for most my life, I hit an extreme wall and was crashing hard, losing all interest. I wasnt just burned out, I was being pulled out and away. BotW reawakened my drive for games and completion. I hadnt felt so good playing a game in my life and lord I still enjoy it to this day, just running around or riding a horse. Its so fun, and the music. Lord, it immersed me deeply into the game. Any song from botw is based because it is that beautiful and fun of a game
Outside of the well known bops, Face Shrine is one of my all time favourite Zelda songs. Definitely would have been my Link’s Awakening pick. If you haven’t heard it listen to it!
Okay, in Ocarina of Time I fond the best songs are most of the dungeon songs. The Forest Temple is weird and creepy with those unidentifiable instruments. The Spirit Temple drones on with that warm synth pad with the Indian brass and wind instruments playing the melody. And for being a place that's supposed to give you nightmares The Shadow Temple is a freaking bop, the beat is slow and in a usual 4/4 time signature but I can't hear your complaints over the freaking banger beat on those bongo drums! These are not my favourite songs in the game but I think they do the best job of conveying what you should be feeling in that temple.
Please look up the PS2 game "Dark Cloud" and its OSTs. The music in that game fueled my childhood. No other game or game music will ever compare. Except Zelda, because classic.
