Friend, the Bible says in Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places KJV. From the beginning of time. There has been a spiritual war between good and evil. In the book of Daniel 10:13 tells that Gabriel was 21 days late. Getting back to Daniel to explain a vision. Why did it take 21 days? It was because there was an evil entity that required Michael to put a stop to it. So, the Bible tells us who we are fighting against, it’s not the flesh. Tony Evans took responsibility when he humbled himself. By resigning and getting his spiritual armor repaired. So, he did take responsibility. Furthermore, those who preach and teach. Are automatic enemies of the adversary for obvious reasons. My siblings in Christ, who are throwing pebbles. What sin would be exposed in our own closets?

Hi, the strangest negative of what the son preached on was not against the power sin has, but exciting the congregation of Tony's return. No godly sorrow, just a mockery of what is written in scripture concerning morality for leadership in ministry. No one was interested in the way of God, but selfish of what they desire. He did say to God, “I have sinned against you and you alone (Psalm 51:4). If that applies to the guy after God’s own heart, why would it be different today?

There was an online article that said Evans' congregation viewed his admission of sin as a sign of "spiritual maturity." This suggests the climate is ripe for Tony Evans to come back to the pulipt and that his congregation isn't upset by his confession. Plus, as you can hear in Spencer's clip, Evans' church was applauding his pre-announced return. It shows that congregants today don't really care about sin, only about the cult of personality.

🙏It is becoming more and more apparent that Evans lacks the humility to repent before the Lord fully and resign--as he should. He said that he fell short and was disqualified according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7. It is also apparent watching the clip of his son preaching that the church he led for years has Evans on a pedestal. (The cheering and clapping for him is SO disturbing!) In other words, they revere and worship him as their pastor more than they do JESUS as their Savior. Why do I say such a thing? Because the biblical qualifications are SO CLEAR! Bro. Spencer explained them as well in this video, yet Evans' church behaves as though they are ignorant of this passage of Scripture or they choose to ignore it. Either one is not good...

Can there be true repentance and “restoration” if he can’t even confess his sin to the body? I mean, it’s one thing if you’re an individual and your sin doesn’t involve someone else, you can go to your pastor and who needs to know… but if you’re a pastor, an elder, imho, you have a responsibility to confess your sin to the body over which you have spiritual authority so that they can offer true forgiveness and then decide what route the man needs to take. He doesn’t just decide for himself. That’s ludicrous.

If you truly repent, God says he forgives and it's forgotten, erased. How dare we give someone else a certain time period that they should mourn over their sin. How many stones should we cast before someone haa really earned their forgiveness? That being said, yes, trust is earned once it's been broken. And I totally agree that there may be certain sinful actions that would prevent someone for retaking a position of leadership. I won't pretend to know all the judgments of God, but looking at Paul a murderer, King David a murderer, Noah a drunk, Moses a murderer, Solomon a fornicator, and the list goes on, there is true repentance of those men and God still gave them leadership, although they also had been chastised by the Lord and some, like Moses and David did not get to receive some of the promises while in the flesh. And brother, all of us are as sinful rags and all have fallen short of the glory of God. There are none that do good, no, not one, but only through repentance and redemption through Jesus Christ. Yes, I'm a woman, but I will speak up in love. We all make this mistake in judgement when we don't know the whole story. It's gossip, plain and simple. We don't know what Tony did and we don't know if he didn’t truly repent. If he didn't, then God will make it known if He wants to and He can deal with it in his own way. Yes, hold all men accountable, but who are we to say someone needs to pay for their sin in any certain way. God is the judge. Even while writing this I can see my own sinful revengeful thoughts I've had about people's mistakes, and it's totally carnal minded. It's time for all of us to seek what true love is.

Obviously that church may, through whatever ecclesiastical structure that is in place, approve of Tony Evans returning to that pulpit. In principle, however, when there is a relationship, if there is a lack of transparency, there is a lack of trust. That, alone, should halt many from voting to approve of his return. And besides all of that, those outside of that local church who have "partnered" with that ministry in anyway such as giving money, giving attention, giving credence or time in discipleship, you certainly have your own vote to cast as to whether or not you will permit Evans such a role or you, engaged in such a manner, once again. To which I would point, a second time, to the principle of a lack of transparency means a lack of trust. With whom would you have a trusting relationship if that person told you he or she violated your trust but was unwilling to confide in you in order to "confess your faults *(harmartia - sins against another), one to another" and reconcile, properly? No one. You would remain without reconciliation.

(1 Corinthians 15:1-4). THE GOSPEL THAT SAVES, PAUL SPEAKING This is the only Gospel that can save your soul today there is no other Moreover, brethren, I declared unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand, by which also you are saved if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that Jesus rose from the dead and you shall be saved Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). It is not based on human traditions, rituals, or works, but on the finished work of Christ on the Cross. He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). No human effort is allowed in salvation. No Confessing, Praying, No Asking! No Calling. WE ARE NOT SAVED BY FOLLOWING THE LEVITICAL LAW OF THE OLD TESTAMENT! NOR ARE WE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE LAW AFTER WE ARE SAVED! SALVATION IS OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST FOR ALL WHO "BELIEVE" THE GOSPEL 1 COR 15:1- 4 KJV BASED ON THE DEATH, BURIAL, & PHYSICAL RESURRECTION OF GOD THE SON JESUS CHRIST. Ephesians 1:13-14 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. Romans 8:2 ESV For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. Romans 2:16 paul speaking 16 in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. Colossians 1:20 The Blood Of Jesus 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Ephesians 1:7 The Blood Of Jesus 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 1 John 1:7 The Blood Of Jesus 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. Pauls strong message to those that preach another gospel If any religion or church or person teaches or adds anything to the gospel of our lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to be saved, they and all who believe in them and trust in them according to the apostle Paul they are accursed. (damned). What happens if we or an Angel From Heaven Preach a different Gospel then Paul preached. Paul preached the Gospel by revelation of Christ. (Galatians 1:1-12) Paul Was Taught The Gospel By Jesus Himself I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another Gospel: Which is not another, but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so I say now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you then that ye have received, let him be accursed. But I certify you, brethren that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

If the church is non-denominational, the Pastor (and his family) OWN it. "Resign" just means he won't be preaching every Sunday. As the owner, money will NEVER stop flowing into his pockets - until he dies. OWNership provides for this BUSINESS to receive a religious tax exemption; tithes and offerings become property of the owner; sons and family members thru the generations will inherit the title of pastor, thus continuing the grift; being non-denominational, theological Seminary degrees are not required; there is NEVER a Denomination Church Board or Presbytery that oversees or restricts the Pastor's smallest whim; deacons are chosen for their loyalty to the pastor.
@dre5rebel1
@dre5rebel1 4 месяца назад
I hope a lot of people read your comment... What you have written is 1,000% correct. What you have written about "NON-DENOMINATIONAL CHURCHES" is not common knowledge, even to to congregation members. These "CHURCHES" ??? are "PRIVATE FAITH-BASED BUSINESSES" operating under IRS 503.C tax exemption. The churches do not have national tier authority. ie, elder selections, mission structure, rules of order, by-laws, protocols, ceremonial proceedings are set by each local congregation....there is no national governing board (like the COGIC congregations, for example) that oversees and monitors what local congregations do. This was frowned upon by old-school Christians, because there was no system of checks & balances to that GOD'S WORD & The Gospel of Jesus Christ was preached. It was a safeguard ward off "heretics" who preached "their own gospel". One of the very recent cases of this was the late well-renown Bishop Carlton Pearson, who preached there is no "hell"...he was swiftly expelled. Non-Demonational churches are basically self-governed. Dr. Evans, whether he's basking in the sun on a tropical beach, sipping margaritas in Margaritaville, or whatever.... Dr, Evans's salary will continue, his SS benefits continue, his royalties. Church still receives money... his children pastor.. WIN! WIN! for all.

Brother Smith, I'll be honest for a good minute I stopped watching your videos because I heard you say the Gospel preached by Ray Comfort was good. This was in the video where you and your family went to Noah's ark theme park and said that the narration by Ray Comfort about the Gospel was good. I tend to disagree and thought well If Spencer believes this as the Gospel then I can't associate. But just now I went to your Lighthouse Ministry Page and saw your doctrinal beliefs on Salvation. Then now I'm like SHOOT! I should have given you the benefit of the doubt, because the Gospel statement is 100% correct. Sorry. Honest question. Do you really think Ray Comfort's view on Salvation is correct? I know that he preaches a good way of showing sinners they need Christ. But So many street evangelist make such a big deal of works to show repentance when the repentance is actually a turning from the disbelief in Christ to a Belief in him and nothing else But Christ mercy and grace is what's needed for salvation.

Tony Evans should make public what his sin was so that there can be transparency and discernment in the matter...
@cyndih4720
@cyndih4720 3 месяца назад
You must hold yourself to the sane standard, then. "Make public your past sins so that everyone knows what you did and discern whether you're worthy of forgiveness." Now, is that what Jesus does? Yes, he can expose a current sin to others to help bring us to and humble us to conviction and repentance, but for a past sin, does He do this once it's forgiven? Obviously, a number of Tony's staff knows what he did and he's confessed to them and he's holding himself accountable, apparently. I would ask you to do the same thing with all your past sins if you ask a man to do the same. When you think about that, you'll realize the mercy of our Lord and just what you are asking. We must love each other as we would want others to love us. Repented sin is erased by the blood of Jesus Christ. This is all just speculation and gossip, which the Lord hates.

@@cyndih4720 Cindi, no, there is a major difference between making your own sin known to the LORD in your personal repentance, and someone who served on a major public platform in the "Name of the LORD", and then fall into sin which disqualifies them from public ministry, but not wanting to be open and transparent about it to the wider international Body of Christ about it, and (to make things even worse) then at the same time giving hints of a return to public ministry. We salute Tony Evans for publicly stepping down, but for honor and trust in him and in the wider church spiritual leadership, he needs to make known what it was so that he can be accountable to the rest of the Church. His sin is not just a personal thing, but is in the interest of the international Body of Christ so that honor, trust, accountability, and transparency can be upheld - the testimony of the Name of the LORD and of the Church are at stake. It NOT a matter of wanting to shame a brother while trying to keep your own sin secret...

@BibleinContext-dw5cl Thank you for your thoughts on this. Regardless of how I still feel about the things being spoken on this video and in the comments section, the crime-less sin Tony committed in the past is none of our business who are not part of his congregation or in support of his ministry. And it may very well be a sin that isn't their business either, especially if repented of.
@BibleinContext-dw5cl
@BibleinContext-dw5cl 3 месяца назад
@cyndih4720 Thank you, Cindy. I do understand why you feel like this. The problem is that nobody will know if he doesn’t bring it to light. He did something that was so serious that it caused him to step down as a senior and very public leader in the international church arena, and that brings a lot of doubt and questions from believers and unbelievers. This is a credibility issue for the witness and character of the church. Therefore, it is not so that it is none of our business (us who make up the larger Body of Christ) and that we all should just move on as if nothing has really happened and mind our own business... No, no matter how painful it is, it must be brought in the light and dealt with in the light. True church discipline is one of the church disciplines that is the least practiced properly and biblically, and in this case, it is certainly also the case. As I said, there is already sounds of his future return to public ministry, and that is very problematic in the light of the fact that he didn't disclose what his moral failure was that disqualified him from the very ministry he wants to return to. I pray he will do the right thing for the honor of the Name of our LORD and His testimony in the church. Thank you for your kindness 🙏

But if God has called someone to their position, authenticated their ministry by bearing fruit over time, I would argue that He knew in advance they would fall, before calling them or authenticating their ministry. (1) Peter wasn't a minister when he denied Christ. (2) God permanently removed Abiathar from being the high priest and the priesthood while he was still alive because he joined Adonijah's coup against David. You can read all about it in 1 Kin. 1:5-7, 2:26-27. The Bible is consistent in BOTH Testaments that ministers who are involved in scandalous behavior can be(an probably should be) permanently removed from ministry.
