Some people are more likely to be an underdog than others, especially when you consider race or sexuality. However, Peter Parker was an orphaned child who grew up with a nerdy disposition. He struggled financially and was often bullied. I think he was an underdog. And I love both Peter Parker and Spider-Man because I truly believe he is relatable to everyone.

I think there's definitely some projecting with Spidey but Deadpool is certified pan, he's just been written mostly by dudes who are scared of writing a decent gay romance plot/subplot. Hopefully he gets more boyfriends as time goes on. And no, I don't think we should change already established characters just for representation. I think we need more new heroes to accurately represent the ratio of races IRL, I mean, in real life it wouldn't be 99% straight white guy heroes, would it? I'm a straight white girl but the characters I most relate to are usually dudes, Deadpool being one of my favourite characters of all time. Characters don't have to mirror our labels to represent us or be relatable, they just need to be well written with depth to their personalities. I don't really relate to or like many of the female heroes, maybe the writing isn't all there, maybe it's just because I'm a tomboy, but I don't feel the need to be represented at all in that regard. I just want a good story about people overcoming their struggles. Changing characters that already mean to much to people just to appease the people suffering most in society seems pretty...pretty dumb, at least from a writing standpoint. If Spider-Man was always an underdog he'd have a massive change every decade, at least. I do think the addition of Miles Morales was a great idea, though, since c'mon, Marvel, black people exist. Gay people exist. Stop pretending they don't. And hey, no hate to people who want representation. This is just my opinion, and I'm not the kind of person to condemn those who don't agree with me. It's the year 2033. Marvel Phase Eight - Young Avengers ft. Wiccan x Hulkling (Wickling) with Ms. (not straight or white) America teaming up with the Runaways (What If? already exists) ft. Nico x Karolina (Deanoru) to defeat an evil Spideypool turned evil by Mevicto (ship I just forced together of Doctor Victor Von Doom x Mephisto cuz everyone is gay - this is my made-up Marvel universe deal with it (and my excessive and probably incorrect use of parentheses)).

The Spideypool team-up comic is the only comic arc i've read from marvel, and it convinced me that Deadpool and Spiderman are one of the best duos I've ever seen. Not even getting into the obvious gay potential, they're perfect character foils to each other. Their conflicting ideals over the usefulness of moral codes, killing, peacekeeping, all those things, made their comic actually nuanced and more intellectual than i was expecting from a marvel comic. Plus, they're both super quippy and snarky so their banter is top notch

I know you mentioned it in this video, but when people talk about Spideypool, I feel like they really overlook the fact that they are literal heartmates. They’re canonically meant for each other. It wasn’t Shiklah, who Wade was married to, or anyone else he had ever married or dated. It was Spider-Man. There’s literally no way it could get any gayer than that.
